POLITICAL PROGRAMS OF THE NATIONAL ALBANIAN
MOVEMENT
1978 -1990
The aim of National Union in Kosovo and other
Albanian territories under Yugoslavia, is not only known in
recent decades of the twentieth century. As a political project, it
dates back from the League of Prizren, to continue the wars that
led to the independence of Albania. It survived as a powerful
idea in other geographic areas where Albanians that were left
out of the Albania of 1912 were living.
Committee for the Protection of Kosovo, Hasan
Prishtina s participation in the Paris Conference to seek
unification of Kosovo with the Albanian state, Second League
of Prizren, Boyana Conference, inclusion in the curricula of all
illegal organizations in post World War II , KLA war, and its
continuity of this idea in today s political discourse is a sign of
aspiration that has stood parallel with all Albanian political
efforts.
But one of the biggest challenges was the year 1945 and
the period that follows. It was the time when Albanians,
without their consent, remained within Serbia and the former
Yugoslavia. It was the first time that Albanians were denied a
legitimate right, but this will be the greatest deception that
makes them Albanian Yugoslav communists. At the Third
Conference of the CPY for Kosova (1945), President of the
Government of Serbia, Blagoje Neshkoviqi, i u Albanians had
promised that once the calm reaction in Albania, will regulate
the issue of unification of Kosovo with Albania. Therefore,
historic resistance was our fate. Until recently Albanian
historiography was not dealt with these events, not only
because the occupant was careful to declare taboo, as such had
declared the entire Albanian resistance against slavery, but also
because it was not yet closed the last page of this story , which

continued to flow ever more sensational in ethnic Albanian
areas.
And now, when we are celebrating 100 - anniversary of
the declaration of independence of the Albanian state, which
mark the disaster is of such fragmentation years in different
countries of Albania, the Albanian national issue considered
somewhat closed, because Kosovo is declared state democratic
and independent, while the status of Albanians in Macedonia
and Montenegro is significantly advanced.
After 1945, Kosovo roberua again. Albanians decided to
stay back and resisting. Still in historical sequence obligations
remained supreme obligation and goal-liberation movement of
illegal land remaining under foreign rule and their union with
the mother country. This proves that the armed struggle that
started boys and girls the best of Kosovo in 1998 had roots in
earlier and the program of the League of Prizren, the Albanian
people rose as one to relieve the place to be side put peoples of
Europe and the Balkans with its own national state.
The issue of Kosovo Albanians in particular and in
general, in Yugoslavia after WWII, considered the matter
closed. The new government of Yugoslavia, descendents of the
old government, continue with feverish effort in every pore of
life to quench any national feeling and loving. Although
pressures continue, people found another way of resistance,
which was much more significant, however it was also
dangerous.
However, after numerous political changes that
followed between 89-99 years of last century, the Albanian
National Movement activists operating underground, but also
those operating in different legal political parties that were
formed during this period, the first factor and investigate the
impact of internal and international one, in their attitudes
began to make corrections to access and organization.

movement. But the highest form of resistance, armed struggle,
being part of the program, but also the historical practice of the
national movement, failed to apply the full meaning and its
width, only in the nineties of the last century, then when they
were created under internal and external to, when baked
subjective and objective factors of movement. Previous
generations illegal movement can not do this, in Yugoslavia
with stable international prestige and the circumstances of the
cold war. However, preparing the liberation struggle and
gradually developed versus wild waves of violence towards the
occupiers.
This belief and this commitment without saving the
illegal and legal great faith in his people led to form the KLA,
because any illegal organization in the former Yugoslavia, in
their programs, in addition to a peaceful resolution of the
Albanian question they envisage resolving the war, so the
emergence of the KLA was no accident and that it was more
natural arm of the National Movement in Kosovo since 1945.
Kosovo War under the leadership of the KLA, and great
support from the international community that brought
freedom to the people of Kosovo today enjoys shows and
proves to be the major works of all patriots who were
committed to its independence sparing even their lives.
This new organization and this new approach to
political and military time had passed and ideological barriers
not see themselves prey on any ideology. Moreover, for the

prisoners in 89-99 years, with the emergence of the prison had

gradually increased positive can be said that the resolution of
the European Parliament (1989) to support Martti Ahtisaari s
Comprehensive Plan. Resolving the issue of Kosovo, which was
also the last great challenges that remained in the Balkans after
the breakup of Yugoslavia, namely the making of independence
of Kosovo on the basis of the Ahtisaari Plan, which is a
compromise solution, is a final test foreign policy of the
European Union, the U.S. and the international community in
general..
