Solution to Mass Unemployment in Nigeria, is No. 1, in the book series. Achieving Rapid Industrialisation
and Démocratisation in Nigeria. The book and series are products of a curiosity-driven research aimed at
understanding the present global distribution of wealth and power and t he human development process. Not
long after the commencement of the research, it became obvious that it is providing scientific answers to
fundamental questions about the human development experience. The author’s experience in publicising the
results quickly revealed that the research was indeed the work of an avant-garde. This necessitated the
presentation of the results in a series, with a view to popularising them and promoting their adoption in
development thinking and activities for the benefit of mankind. SOLEP - Society for Linking Education and
Problems, was founded to popularise the series.
The author of this book and series and founder of SOLEP, Professor Francis Eniterai Ogbimi. obtained a B.
Sc. degree in Agricultural Biochemistry and Nutrition, from Nigeria’s premier university, The University oi
Ibadan, Ibadan, in 1976. He also obtained both M. S. (1981) and Ph.D. (1985) degrees in Polymer Science -
the Science of Rubbers and Plastics, from the University of Akron, Akron, Ohio, U. S. A. Ogbimi also
studied for and acquired a Master of Business Administration ( M. B. A.) degree from Obafemi Awolowo
University, fle-Ife, Nigeria, in 1989. He commenced his curiosity-driven research in the University of Ife,
now Obafemi Awolowo University, in 1986, as a Research Fellow. He was promoted a Senior Research
Fellow in 1990, Principal Research Fellow in 1996 and Research Professor of Technology Management in
2000. He is married and blessed with children..
