Beschreibung: | Gerald Janecek describes the experiments in visual, literature conducted from 1900 to 1930, the heyday of the Russian Avant Garde. Focusing on an aspect of Russian literary history that has previously been almost ignored, he shows how Russian writers of this period tried unusual methods to make their texts visually interesting or expressive. The book includes 183 illustrations, most from rare publications and many reproduced for the first time. The author discusses such figures as the Symbolist Andrey Bely, the Futurists Aleksey Kruchonykh, Vasili Kamensky, and Vladimir Mayakovsky, and the post-Futurist Ilya Zdanevich, and their use of devices ranging from unorthodox layouts and florid typography to roughly done lithographed or handmade books.Originally published in 1989.The Princeton Legacy Library uses the latest print-on-demand technology to again make available previously out-of-print books from the distinguished backlist of Princeton University Press. These paperback editions preserve the original texts of these important books while presenting them in durable paperback editions. The goal of the Princeton Legacy Library is to vastly increase access to the rich scholarly heritage found in the thousands of books published by Princeton University Press since its founding in 1905 |

Princeton University Press [1989] 1 Online-Ressource (335p.) txt rdacontent c rdamedia cr rdacarrier Gerald Janecek describes the experiments in visual, literature conducted from 1900 to 1930, the heyday of the Russian Avant Garde. The goal of the Princeton Legacy Library is to vastly increase access to the rich scholarly heritage found in the thousands of books published by Princeton University Press since its founding in 1905 In English Majakovskij, Vladimir 1893-1930 (DE-588)118640801 gnd rswk-swf Belyj, Andrej 1880-1934 (DE-588)118508806 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte 1900-2000 Geschichte 1900-2000 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte 1900-1930 gnd rswk-swf Slawische Literatur Russian literature / 20th century / History and criticism Visual literature / History and criticism Russisch (DE-588)4051038-4 gnd rswk-swf Literatur (DE-588)4035964-5 gnd rswk-swf Konkrete Poesie (DE-588)4073689-1 gnd rswk-swf Visuelle Poesie (DE-588)4188425-5 gnd rswk-swf Figurengedicht (DE-588)4130241-2 gnd rswk-swf Avantgardeliteratur (DE-588)4069041-6 gnd rswk-swf Sowjetunion (DE-588)4077548-3 gnd rswk-swf Russland (DE-588)4076899-5 gnd rswk-swf Sowjetunion (DE-588)4077548-3 g Konkrete Poesie (DE-588)4073689-1 s Geschichte 1900-2000 z 1\p DE-604 Russland (DE-588)4076899-5 g Avantgardeliteratur (DE-588)4069041-6 s Geschichte 1900-1930 z 2\p DE-604 Russisch (DE-588)4051038-4 s Literatur (DE-588)4035964-5 s 3\p DE-604 Figurengedicht (DE-588)4130241-2 s 4\p DE-604 Visuelle Poesie (DE-588)4188425-5 s 5\p DE-604 Majakovskij, Vladimir 1893-1930 (DE-588)118640801 p 6\p DE-604 Belyj, Andrej 1880-1934 (DE-588)118508806 p 7\p DE-604 https://doi.org/10.1515/9781400852857 Verlag Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 4\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 5\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 6\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 7\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
