| adam_text | This book brings together detailed papers on how the
international Law of the Sea is evolving due to developing
technologies, modern shipping and exploitation of marine
resources. Conflicting uses of the oceans, threats to the marine
environment and new navigational controls are all examined by
experts in the fields of the law of salvage, Arctic passage,
piracy, and protected marine areas.
The balance between the traditional exercise of innocent
passage and developments such as carbon capture and storage,
offshore windfarms, oil pipelines under the seabed is ever more
difficult to maintain. And control of pollution in all its forms
from the Deepwater Horizon disaster to the scrapping of ships
and regulation of ballast water is a constant theme in this
important new book.
