SUMMARY
Territory of Vitia municipality covers territory with a surface of
297 km2. If we watch from geographical point of view, Municipality of
Vitia is in South-East part of Kosova. It’s territory is expanded in north
Karadaku-Skopje slope, in direction of north-west. It covers also
Morava valley and a part of soth Zhegoci.
This territory is confined with municipality of Gjilan in north-
east, Ferizaj on west, Kaçanik in southwest, and F. Y.R of Macedonia in
south-east.
Geographical position, appropriate conditions for life, natyral
resources, favorite climate etc, have determined the municipalty of
Vitia to be inhabited from ancient times and that created this place in
lots of dwillings. In many locations if there were archeological
researches to be done, many facts would be found on the early
dwellings. But many dwellings during the past, because of the wars,
diseases, fires, earthquakes etc..., were destroyed, therefore withy the
creation of conditions in these dwellings or somewhere close to these
dwelling new buildings were made.
Not many publications were made in relation with Kosova
dwelling history and in relation with dwellings history also.
In territory of Vitia like in whole Kosova, a small number of
dwellings existed, that were created during different periods of history.
The history testifies that Illyrian territories and now in wrikled
Albanian territories, a high civilization was developed and a big
experience was followed in generation. Our population has created a
culture that during the creation of history, was developed in god
harmonious, by saving the ethinical identity in clear way.
This article is published as a special monographic volume —
Kosova dwellings.
In this volume 43 dwellings are included. We tried to give this
volume with photos, by including a short view from all historical and
economical development aspects in municipality of Vitia and then by
presenting a brief history for every dwelling separately. In every
dwelling, depending on the possessed facts, these data were included:
geographical position an extension, type of dwelling, main families and

districts in dwelling, most characteristic microtoponumics, tracks and
archeological facts for dwelling seniority, archival and historical
resources for the dwelling, population displacement out of their county,
population massacres, murdering, destructions of the dwellings,
number of famielies and inhabitants based on the registration or any
other data related to efeats from the last war with the Serbian on 1999.
I haven’t presented inhabitant origin, their displacement etc., as
it is required a complex study, and I think that based on these data, new
genarations will make it.
Todey, the network of Vitia Municipality dwellling is made by
municipal adminisstrative centers, local centers, even urbanized like
Pozharan, Stublla, Letnica, etc... dwellings, distgricts and home
groups.
In municipality of Vitia, most of the dwellings are comulative
field type, some are also hillocks-mountains, and also comulative type,
and very rarely separated into districts.
