Beschreibung: | Reservoir characterization as a discipline grew out of the recognition that more oil and gas could be extracted from reservoirs if the geology of the reservoir was understood. Prior to that awakening, reservoir development and production were the realm of the petroleum engineer. In fact, geologists of that time would have felt slighted if asked by corporate management to move from an exciting exploration assignment to a more mundane assignment working with an engineer to improve a reservoirs performance. Slowly, reservoir characterization came into its own as a quantitative, multidisciplinary endeavor requiring a vast array of skills and knowledge sets. Perhaps the biggest attractor to becoming a reservoir geologist was the advent of fast computing, followed by visualization programs and theaters, all of which allow young geoscientists to practice their computing skills in a highly technical work environment. Also, the discipline grew in parallel with the evolution of data integration and the advent of asset teams in the petroleum industry. Finally, reservoir characterization flourished with the quantum improvements that have occurred in geophysical acquisition and processing techniques and that allow geophysicists to image internal reservoir complexities Includes bibliographical references (p. 457-472) and index |

Slatt 1st ed Amsterdam Elsevier 2006 1 Online-Ressource (xiii, 478 p.) txt rdacontent c rdamedia cr rdacarrier Handbook of petroleum exploration and production 6 Reservoir characterization as a discipline grew out of the recognition that more oil and gas could be extracted from reservoirs if the geology of the reservoir was understood. 457-472) and index TECHNOLOGY & ENGINEERING / Petroleum bisacsh Stratigraphic traps (Petroleum geology) fast Stratigraphic traps (Petroleum geology) Erdgaslagerstätte (DE-588)4152663-6 gnd rswk-swf Klastische Sedimentation (DE-588)4164047-0 gnd rswk-swf Äolisches Sediment (DE-588)4384468-6 gnd rswk-swf Schiefer (DE-588)4179548-9 gnd rswk-swf Deltasediment (DE-588)4252014-9 gnd rswk-swf Ölschiefer (DE-588)4043248-8 gnd rswk-swf Stratigraphie (DE-588)4057956-6 gnd rswk-swf Lithofazies (DE-588)4123665-8 gnd rswk-swf Klastisches Gestein (DE-588)4123521-6 gnd rswk-swf Flusssediment (DE-588)4130033-6 gnd rswk-swf Erdölgeologie (DE-588)4152692-2 gnd rswk-swf Meeressediment (DE-588)4134766-3 gnd rswk-swf Sedimentation (DE-588)4054080-7 gnd rswk-swf Fazies (DE-588)4016568-1 gnd rswk-swf Terrestrisches Sediment (DE-588)4272792-3 gnd rswk-swf Schiefergas (DE-588)7751971-1 gnd rswk-swf Sedimentologie (DE-588)4121648-9 gnd rswk-swf Falle Kohlenwasserstofflagerstätte (DE-588)7592339-7 gnd rswk-swf Speichergestein (DE-588)4196332-5 gnd rswk-swf Erdöllagerstätte (DE-588)4125182-9 gnd rswk-swf Erdölgeologie (DE-588)4152692-2 s Fazies (DE-588)4016568-1 s Speichergestein (DE-588)4196332-5 s Sedimentation (DE-588)4054080-7 s Stratigraphie (DE-588)4057956-6 s Falle Kohlenwasserstofflagerstätte (DE-588)7592339-7 s 1\p DE-604 Terrestrisches Sediment (DE-588)4272792-3 s Deltasediment (DE-588)4252014-9 s Meeressediment (DE-588)4134766-3 s Flusssediment (DE-588)4130033-6 s Äolisches Sediment (DE-588)4384468-6 s Ölschiefer (DE-588)4043248-8 s 2\p DE-604 Erdgaslagerstätte (DE-588)4152663-6 s Erdöllagerstätte (DE-588)4125182-9 s Klastische Sedimentation (DE-588)4164047-0 s Klastisches Gestein (DE-588)4123521-6 s Sedimentologie (DE-588)4121648-9 s 3\p DE-604 Schiefergas (DE-588)7751971-1 s Schiefer (DE-588)4179548-9 s Lithofazies (DE-588)4123665-8 s 4\p DE-604 http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/book/9780444528186 Verlag Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 4\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
