Comouterspiele haben sich in
¡hram
über fünfzig-
jährigen Bestehen von Geschickiichkeitsspielen zu
narrativen Simulationen entwickelt. Dabei nimmt
der Rezipient selbst Einfluss auf die Entwicklung der
Handlung,
Raffael Schuppisser führt Ansätze aus den
ludo-
logisch orientierten Game
Studies
mit Konzepten
der Erzähltheorie zusammen, um daraus eine
medienspezifische Narratologie für das Computer¬
spiel zu entwickeln. Spielen und Erzählen wer¬
den hier also nicht als Gegensatzpaar betrachtet;
sondern über das Konzept der Simulation vereint.
Ebenso sind Spielen und Interpretieren keine Gegen¬
sätze. Vielmehr wird der Spieler ständig heraus¬
gefordert, sein Handeln
(narratív)
zu deuten, etwa
wenn moralische Entscheidungen gefällt werden
müssen. In solchen Momenten fliessen die Wertvor¬
stellungen des Spielers in den Interaktionsprozess
ein -Computerspielen wird zu einer komplexen
ästhetischen Erfahrung, |
