Beschreibung:Evans, 11387. - Six lines of verse satirizing the liberal faction in New York politics. The Sons of Liberty had called upon New Yorkers to meet at the Liberty Pole on December 29 to demonstrate in favor of a bill requiring the use of ballots in future elections. Only a handful of people showed up, and the meeting was postponed. This occured in the midst of the controversy concerning Alexander McDougall and the Liberty Boys protest over James De Lancey and the majority in the Assembly's compliance with the Quartering Act.
