Beschreibung:Advertised in the Newport Mercury for Sept. 12-19, 1768. - Alden, J.E. Rhode Island, 380. - All other issues, except the first, in the series of almanacs published at Providence first by William Goddard and continued by John Carter, are entitled: The New-England almanack, or lady's and gentleman's diary. The author through 1781 was Benjamin West. - Drake, M. Almanacs, 12824. - Evans, 11113. - Evans, who saw no copy, incorrectly gives title as: The New-England almanack, or Lady's and gentleman's diary, for the year of our Lord, 1769. - The portrait, occupying the first page, is of John Wilkes, and is stated to be "engraved for Weatherwise's almanack, 1769." Pages [2-4] are occupied chiefly by an account entitled "Anecdotes of Mr. Wilkes." Page [5] is the title page
