ZERIILIRISE
SUMMARY
This study is based from the published information by the local and
international media outlets during the war of the Kosovo Liberation Army
(1988-1999). The study is tackling various topics from the operative zone
of Nerodime, but also including topics from other zones of the war written
by the journalist Ruzhdi Jashari.
Ruzhdi Jashari is one of the most prominent fighters for the national
cause in Shtime municipality, who spent entirely his life in the war for
homeland freedom.
He worked for this without interruptions, before the war, during
the war as well as after the war, at all possible fronts. Before the war,
he was persecuted physically and psychologically due to his engagement
in national activities openly expressed against the bloodthirsty Serbian
regime. During the KLA war, Ruzhdi Jashari was engaged with his whole
heart, body and intellect for the liberation of Kosovo, together with many
distinguished warriors of this region, not only with pen but with arms as
well.
After the war, Ruzhdi Jashari was involved in protecting the
righteous war of the Kosovo Liberation Army, by publishing many
articles, information, analysis, columns and various opinion pieces,
describing the most relevant events of the Kosovo Liberation War. Jashari
was also officially authorised by the Hague Tribunal at the defence of the
accused members of the KLA by the Tribunal’s Prosecution, like in the
process against “Limaj and the others”, a defence, which was successfully
concluded.
He, during the glorious war of the KLA was one of the most engaged
journalists not only in the operative zone of Nerodime but also in entire
Kosovo.
Mr.Ruzhdi Jashari through accurate and prompt information
acknowledged the wider opinion for the righteous war of the KLA and
for the genocide committed by the Serbian police and military against the
innocent Albanian citizens of Kosovo.

The publication of the title “Information Broadcast during the
1998-1999 KLA War for Local and International Mass Media from the
Operative Zone of Nerodime” is a summery book with information and
other factographic materials.
This book brings important data from battlefields, whereas the author
was the main protagonist of information during the war in operative zone
of Nerodime.
The author presents realistic data on the war in Shtime end adher
municipality, real information, factographic and sustainable materials by
making this book very important.
The author has separated his book into three parts based on the
chronologically presented events.
The first part is composed of five cycles. First cycle contains information
from the summer offensive of the year 1998.
Mr.Ruzhdi Jashar, in first cycle relies on the information published by
the local and international media outlets from battlefields and frontlines as
a soldier of the operative zone of Nerodime. These information are related
to the first battles, important developments of the war and information
regarding the genocide over Albanian citizens, since the Serbian regime
had commenced the practical implementation of the “Cubrilovic Plan” on
massive expulsion of Albanians, the extinction of Albanians in Kosovo.
Mr.Ruzhdi Jashari, in these circumstances, contributed significantly
through powerful information broadcast by the KLA Radio; radio Kosova
e Lire, Radio Tirana, TVSH, Deutche Welle, BBC and other worldwide
media, requiring not only a strong initiative but also a dominant bravery.
Only thanks to these attributes of Mr. Jashari, the published information
strongly alarmed the citizens and foreign democratic countries for very
difficult situation created in Kosovo.
Without Mr. Jashari’s prompt and accurate information it would be difficult
to achieve such a powerful and triumphant stance of KLA.
The book contains around 150 information published in different
times. One of the most important information was doubtlessly on the
fascistic genocide of Serbian government committed through its police
and military forces. The first information was: “Half of the Shtime

settlements are being burned down”. The information was published
on 19 September 1998 where Mr. Jashari wrote: “The Serbian soldateska
(military) though its murderess army burnt half of the settlements in Shtime
municipality, like villages of Belince, Zborc, Carraleve, Pjetreshtice,
Duge, Karafice, Ranee, Refak, Petrove and Mollopolc’. The military and
police state regime of Milosevic, supported by the Serbian civilians only
in Shtime municipality in the period of three months brutally murdered 23
Albanians, out of which 22 were civilians including 10 massacred children
from the age of 6 months up to 14 years old, 6 elderly from 65-87 years
old and 3 females from 17-40 years old. One elderly person was massacred
and executed in front of his house.
Other important information of this cycle are: “After two hours of fighting
Serbian forces escape”; “Holbrook-Millosevic ceasefire agreement
between KLA and Serbian Millitary and Police breached from the
Serbian side”; “American Observes-Witness of the Serbian Crimes”.
“Serbian Terror in front of the International Observers’ eyes”.
The second and third cycle gathers information from the OSCE
activities in Kosovo and after the massacre of Re ?ak.
This cycle contains information from Re?ak massacre, where the
biggest revulsion of developments in the field and international factors’
impact occurs. The Refak massacre can be justifiably considered as the
savior of the process and brought the first international conference of
Rambouillet in France.
At the third cycle of the first part of the book “Voice of Freedom” Mr.
Jashari brings information from Re?ak after 15 January 1999. The most
horrified massacre committed by the Serbian military and police forces.
Mr. Jashari, though the information from the site managed to sensitize
the local and international public opinion regarding the Re9ak massacre. This is
a big merit of Mr. Jashari, who through this information describes correctly the
genocide of Serbian military against the innocent residents of village Recpak.
He, through writings contributed a lot to the internationalization of
the KLA brave fighters for the Kosovo’s defense. Through the frequent
contacts with accredited journalists in Kosovo and foreign diplomats
Ruzhdi Jashari promptly sensitized the democratic world through his

information delivered to them, which was his aim. We are bringing here to
you an opinion more than real, more than philosophic, more than real of
Ambassador William Walker, stated in front of the world’s eyes in Regak.
We cite only the most powerful sentence, which changed the world’s policy
for 180 degrees. Walker: ”This is a crime against humanity”.
Without the prompt information from Mr. Jashari, it was difficult
to understand the stand of KLA. Without no doubt the most important
information of the time was Recak massacre (information dated
15.01.1999), as was told above: today from early morning hours, Serb
police and military forces with heavy motorized vehicles and heavy
artillery have started to bombard villages of Belince, Regak, Petrove e
Mollopolc of Shtime municipality. The shelling is coming from “pishat e
Shtimes”, Belince crossroad end the hill of the town.!
Earlier, before the attack, Serb barbarism has blocked the entry and exit
of the town as well as Shtime-Suhareka and Shtime-Ferizaj main roads.
To this provoked attack, the KLA is responding successfully in protection
of the innocent population. Although exact information’s are missing, it
has been told that both sides have suffered casualties and most casualties
are from the innocent population. In Recak, Serbia is in breach of every
agreement reach as they did till now, and is seriously provoking international
community especially the NATO”.
Important subject related to this cycle are also information’s: Second crime-
withdrawing the corps, KLA in protection of corps—In protection of Shtime
nine fallen martyrs, Ahmet Kaciku and Vezir Jashari have died in combat.
“Le Mond” and Figaro” have written about the crimes in Recak, Serb
police forces are looting Albanian houses, Serb fear from mass media that
pictures of Recak massacre will appear in Rambouje conference.
Walker: This is a crime against humanity (information dated 11.02.1999).
OSCE head of mission. Mr. William Walker attended the funeral of the
victims from the massacre 15 January in Recak, committed from Serb
criminals. OSCE head of mission, in his speech said that this was a big
crime against humanity and the actors of this crime one day will face World
Justice. In addition, Mr. Walker said that Rambouillet and Regak are one,
with different subjects.

Fourth cycle of this book summarizes the information’s from the
time of intervention from NATO against Serb military and police. NATO
intervention gave a glitch of hope that freedom soon will come and
Serb machinery will leave lands of Kosovo. The fourth cycle starts with
information on NATO bombing “NATO air strike begin” this information
is from 24 March 1999, when among all said: After NATO bombings last
night from 24:00 until 02:00, Serb barbarian forces have launched attacks
from their positions from barracks in Ferizaj, Police station in Shtime and
the hill from town, following villages: Refak, Mollapolc, Jezerc, Petrove,
Muhovc, Dramjak, Belinc, Carraleve etc.
Serb citizens, after the sirens have alarmed for the attack, were
sheltered in Municipal building, the church and the nearest supermarket.
Other information’s are as follows: NATO launches precise attacks,
Serb have initiated their pyromania sadism. Serbs are break and
entering houses and burning. State terror against Albanians. Serb
genocide for ethnic cleansing. KLA is progressing. Serb military is
deserting. Youth are responding to massive recruitment. Heroic stand
is challenging Belgrade machinery. Serb deserters are condemning
Balkan dictator. Heavy fighting in Jezerc, Grefrevc, Papaz, Budakove.
Kidnapping of children, money is asked for their release. Commander
Tamuli is buried: Today, with highest awards, Commander Tamuli is
buried. Shefket Muhadini, commander of first company of the second
battalion, brigade 161 “Ahmet Kaciku” operative zone of Nerodime,
fallen in line of duty.
Fifth cycle of the book summarizes the material from NATO entry in
Kosovo and the victory of KLA; Pain and sorrow, fear and freedom,
shelter and food, returning home, escape of criminals, funerals and tears,
all together gave to Kosovo a new mosaic. These are information that
the author systemized them in fifth phase of the book, by illustrating
developments in the field.
The town is cleaned from the war remains,
War martyrs Afrim Musliu and Selim Selimi are re-buried.
Nine reconstructions projects, etc.
On the second and third part of the book, “Voice of Freedom”-“Zeri

I Lirise” the writer gave detailed information, facts and numbers that Serb
military did in having Albanian population dispersed from the face of earth,
according to evil plan of Cubrilovic. Therefore this book has a important
historical value for new generations and historians of the future. In this
book, and not the last one from Mr. Ruzhdi Jashari, in very correct manner
has described the work of the Kosovo Liberation Army. This book is a
good source for the researches of the tomorrow that study and write about
the KLA war, in Nerodime zone. In the end, we believe that the writer is in
his best form. Therefore we expect the publishing of other books with the
subject of war with focus in heroic act of Albanian population.
Facsimiles, proves and materials:
In the second part of the book, Mr. Jashari brings many proves, facsimiles
and materials gained from ordinary citizens, suffered Serb tortures. Mr.
Jashari has presented hundred-and-hundred materials that clearly prove
the Serb tortures toward civil population and a obvious institutional
and political violence against Albanian population and in violation with
every adopted and ratified International law by the Serbia respectfully
Yugoslavia.
Third part
In the third part of the book, Voice of Freedom, Mr. Jashari has
summarized fact-graphic material, presented through the photo-reportage,
for violence, crimes, and genocide from military and police, not only in
Shtime municipality, but in Kosovo as well. Fact-graphic materials are
prepared from War reporters.
