The authors deal
with the period from
1918
till
1945
when significant changes in structure of Slovak cultural
life took place which involved erudition as its inherent part. Traditional research and inter¬
pretation of school problems and education which are usually presented by other scientific
disciplines (for example pedagogy) were enhanced with analysis and interpretation of the
mentioned problems in the context of political and cultural history of Slovakia. The book
describes process of institutionalization of the administrative governing bodies responsible
for school system and education after
1918.
It analyzes the influence of political parties on
educational process (for example their role in law making processes) which has not been
reflected very often by the Slovak historiography. The monograph deals with the trans¬
formation of education and educational courses in the field of healthcare service, too. It
also unconventionally presents culture and art as a result of increasing level of education
among Slovak population during
1918 — 1945.
