Beschreibung:Over time, scholars have become increasingly aware of the inherent complexity of innovation management. The result of a 2004 Copenhagen conference devoted to an evaluation of the innovation management field, this book comprises the chapters of twenty-two European experts. In addressing the following questions, the book challenges existing innovation management theory and dogma and presents new theoretical perspectives. Does the study of innovation management have a future? Is existing theory on agglomeration and clustering valid? How does one measure university-corporate cooperation? How should diffusion processes be analysed? What weight should one assign to networks in designing innovation strategies? What are the consequences of emphasising the "softer" organisational side of the innovation process? Can a sociological reflexive approach improve management awareness of innovative opportunity? How do issues of governance affect the management of technological knowledge? Can ex ante prizes provide a useful incentive supplement to patents and other forms of intellectual property rights?
