SIDOROV, DMITRIJ: *EKISTKA ASJA
AN ANTISEMITIC SATIRE OF THE CHEKA, THE PREDECESSOR OF THE SOVIET KGB,
WHOSE AGENTS (HERE
ALL JEWS) ARE PORTRAYED AS CORRUPT, DECADENT, AND GREEDY. DMITRI SIDOROV
WAS THE ONE-TIME
CHAIRMAN OF THE RUSSIAN PEASANT UNION IN BELGRADE, A FERVENTLY
ANTI-COMMUNIST
ORGANIZATION THAT REJECTED ALL FORMS OF COMPROMISE WITH THE BOLSHEVIK
REGIME AND
ENVISIONED A RUSSIAN STATE AUTONOMOUSLY RULED BY PEASANT COLLECTIVES.
SUCH GROUPS WERE
EQUALLY OPPOSED TO FOREIGN INTERVENTION AND TO THE NOTION THAT THE
COMMUNIST SYSTEM
COULD BE CHANGED FROM WITHIN.
