It is frequently claimed that it is unrealistic to require compliance with human rights treaties in peace operations and this has led to an unwillingness to hold States accountable for human rights violations. In this book, Kjetil Larsen criticises this position by addressing the arguments against the applicability of human rights treaties and demonstrating that compliance with the treaties is unrealistic only if one takes an 'all or nothing' approach to them. He outlines a coherent and more flexible approach which distinguishes clearly between positive and negative obligations and makes treaty compliance more realistic. His proposals for the application of human rights treaties would also strengthen the legal framework for human rights protection in peace operations without posing any unrealistic obligations on the military forces"-- Provided by publisher. His proposals for the application of human rights treaties would also strengthen the legal framework for human rights protection in peace operations without posing any unrealistic obligations on the military forces"-- Provided by publisher.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="500" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Includes bibliographical references and index</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="610" ind1="1" ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Vereinte Nationen</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="610" ind1="2" ind2="4"><subfield code="a">United Nations</subfield><subfield code="x">Peacekeeping forces</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="610" ind1="2" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Vereinte Nationen</subfield><subfield code="b">Friedensmission</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4437414-8</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield code="9">rswk-swf</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Ethik</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">POLITICAL SCIENCE / Political Freedom & Security / Human Rights</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Human rights monitoring</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Treaties</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Peacekeeping forces</subfield><subfield code="x">Moral and ethical aspects</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Conflict management</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1="0" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Völkerrechtlicher Vertrag</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4063696-3</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield code="9">rswk-swf</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1="0" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Menschenrecht</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4074725-6</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield code="9">rswk-swf</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1="0" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Konfliktregelung</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4164958-8</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield code="9">rswk-swf</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1="0" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Humanitäres Völkerrecht</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4160781-8</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield code="9">rswk-swf</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="689" ind1="0" ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Vereinte Nationen</subfield><subfield code="b">Friedensmission</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4437414-8</subfield><subfield code="D">b</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="689" ind1="0" ind2="1"><subfield code="a">Humanitäres Völkerrecht</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4160781-8</subfield><subfield code="D">s</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="689" ind1="0" ind2="2"><subfield code="a">Menschenrecht</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4074725-6</subfield><subfield code="D">s</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="689" ind1="0" ind2="3"><subfield code="a">Völkerrechtlicher Vertrag</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4063696-3</subfield><subfield code="D">s</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="689" ind1="0" ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Konfliktregelung</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4164958-8</subfield><subfield code="D">s</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="689" ind1="0" ind2=" "><subfield code="5">DE-604</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="830" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Cambridge studies in international and comparative law</subfield><subfield code="v">93</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-604)BV039606727</subfield><subfield code="9">93</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="2"><subfield code="m">SWB Datenaustausch</subfield><subfield code="q">application/pdf</subfield><subfield code="u">http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=025205429&sequence=000003&line_number=0001&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA</subfield><subfield code="3">Inhaltsverzeichnis</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="999" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">oai:aleph.bib-bvb.de:BVB01-025205429</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="942" ind1="1" ind2="1"><subfield code="c">340.09</subfield><subfield code="e">22/bsb</subfield><subfield code="f">090511</subfield><subfield code="g">181</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="942" ind1="1" ind2="1"><subfield code="c">355.009</subfield><subfield code="e">22/bsb</subfield><subfield code="f">090511</subfield><subfield code="g">181</subfield></datafield></record></collection> |
