The 650th anniversary of the village
Ujčov
The book describes the history of the village
Ujčov
and connected local parts based on the oldest
written reports up to the present day. The oldest written report about
Ujčov
is written in terrier
-
zemské
desky moravské .
According to this report Daniel,
Jan a Bohuš
from
Čepí
united together, to administrate
the estate
Ujčov
(Vssow) and
Horní Čepí
(Czepię
Superiori)
together. In the
Ujčov
cadastre was already
in the year
1235
little village
Bořihněv,
which belonged to Doubravnik monastery. It was a colony, which
was during the 14th or 15th century changed to the farm-yard, later the most significant economic unit of
the
Pernštejn
estate. Four years before the first written report about
Ujčov,
in the year
1356,
in the terrier is
mentioned Daniel from
Čepí
and in the year
1371 Jimram
from
Pernštejn,
who gave with agreement of his
sons village
Lískovec
to the vestals of Doubravnik, as a donation and also as a guarantee for the redemption
of parents, borthers, wife and other relatives. The term, colonists for
Lískovec
inhabitants indicates, that it
was a newly settled village. In the year
1437
Jan from
Pernštejn
gave to his wife
Barbora
from
Valdštejn
few villages in the northern part of the domination and in
Ujčov
and
Kovářová
in its southern part

three-scores raps. This report in the terrier is the oldest written notice about the village
Kovářová.
On the left shore of the river
Svratka,
in the vicinity of the lords from Medlov, the ancestors of
significant feudal family
-
lords from
Pernštejn,
were until the
1
5th century villages administrated by the
minor noble families. It includes already mentioned
Horní
and
Dolní Čepí
and little village
Ujčůvek,
later
referred to as only farm-yard in
Ujčůvek. Čepí
attached to
Pernštejn
domination in the year
1496
Vilém
from
Pernštejn,
at the same time also the farm-yard in
Ujčůvek
became property of
Pernštejn
family,
probably not legally. A few chapters of the book address to the history of these nowadays parts of the
village
Ujčov.
The last members of the family from
Čepí
were
Máňa
and
Zdenka
from
Čepí,
mentioned
in the year
1406.
After that
Čepí
became part of the noble family from Drahanovice, They didn t live in
Čepí.
In the year
1433
Martin and
Aleš
from Drahanovice sold the farm-yard to one of theirs vassals, the
founder of the
Čepí
independent family, in the year
1437
sold the whole village together with connected
Ujčůvek
to
Jíra
from
Bezděkov.
Next owner became Jira s wife
Kateřina
from
Dalečín,
her son Martin
from
Dalečín
and Jan Ronychar from Ronych, who sold the village to
Vilém
from
Pernštejn.
One chapter is about the village
Malý Ujčůvek,
which
Jíra
from
Bezděkov
sold to
Mašek
from Drno-
viny in the year
1447.
This one is in some documents mentioned as
Mašek
from
Ujčůvek.
The last owners
of the village, which was called the farm-yard in
Ujčůvek,
were Anna and
Dorota
from
Ujčůvek.
It is im¬
possible to find out, if they were
Mašek s
from
Ujčůvek
inheritors or eponymous sisters of the
Čepí
owner
Martin from
Dalečín,
which appears in the same time in property register. Their husbands
Mikuláš
from
Tišnov
and
Vaněk
from
Čepí
were not noblemen, they didn t have a nobiliary seal. The final parts from the
copies of these transfer deeds, that
Jíra
from
Bezděkov
has transferred
Ujčůvek
to
Mašek
from
Ujčůvek
were cut away. This signifies, that
Ujčůvek
was not legally transferred to
Vilém
from
Pernštejn.
Vilém
from
Pernštejn
granted to the villages of
Pernštejn
domination in the year
1482
bona va-
cantia and in the following years other privileges. Probably already in the 16th century in the time of
Vilém
was the basic organization unit in
Pernštejn
domination so called
rychta -
little estate. One of
them under which were the villages
Ujčov, Lískovec, Kovářová, Dolní and Horní Čepí and
Oleśnicka
had the seat in
Ujčov.
It was so called
rychta zákupní ,
which means, that it was inherited in one
family. The reeve didn t have to participate on
corveé,
but he had to have a harness and eventually had
to send
variet
to struggle. The data from ancient documents extant from the half of the 16th century to¬
gether with registry from the first quarter of the 17th century are showing to us the owners of
rychta
-
little estate, more remarkable independent estates and some others farm lands during the history. The
data from register, which was written in the year
15 89,
just before the selling of
Pernštejn
domination,
are showing us the overview of the duties of each resident to the suzerain. According to the register it
was in
Ujčov
together with
zákupní rychta

estates. The same number of estates was in
Horní
and
Dolní Čepí
and
Kovářová.
The biggest village in
Ujčov rychta
-
little estate was
Lískovec,
which
consists of
10
estates, the smallest one was
Olešnička
with
8
estates.
After selling the domination in
1592
by Jan from
Pernštejn,
few owners changed. The last one was
Kryštof
Pavel from
Lichtenštejn-Kastelkom,
his family hold the domination nearly for one century. In the

time of this owner, there was recatholization on this domination, also the duties of the vassals increased,
but on the other hand there was a development of iron industry. The damages caused by the Swedish army
during the Thirty years war in May
1645,
at most during the siege of the castle
Pernštejn
were removed
by the year
1686.
From the half of the 17th century preserved cadastral registers allowed us to compile
the owners of all estates according to the house numbers, from the 17th century nearly up to the present
day. The detailed list of the owners and inhabitants of the most significant estates records the history from
the half of the 16th century

Ujčov
estates; independent yard of
bohemian Dvořák;
former independent
yard from Martin
Pojezdný
in
Ujčov
and also the mill. The information about each estate are supported
by the list of the inhabitants of all villages, which belong to
Ujčov rychta
-
little estate from
1686,
also
the new lists, which were elaborated after the selling of domination to
František
from
Stockhammer in
the year
1711.
From the year
1689
the
Ujčov
reeve was using the seal with a sign, which the village used
also after the year
1850
and which became in the year
2009
valid sign of the village
Ujčov.
Nontraditional
hindsight to the life of the villages is showed during the law suit in Doubravnik court. Two lads from
Ujčov
were judged for rubbery and mugging of Jewish tradesman on his way from
Čepí
to
Černovice.
We have reports about few craftsmen, who were members of Doubravnik gild.
Individual chapters are about history of
Bořinov,
in
1803
founded estate
Kasaná
and
Bořinov
farm-yard, where was in the 17th century large sheep-farm.
The history of autonomous villages
Horní
and
Dolní Čepí, Lískovec
and
Kovářová
from
1850
until the integration in the year
1960,
the history of
Ujčov
until the year
1980,
when the administration
of the village and connected parts went under
Nedvědice
are described in individual chapters. For
every village there are the general information about the area and administrative unit also the names
of the heads of the villages
-
reeves, inhabitants of each house according to the population census in
the years
1857,1869,1880,1890,1900
and in
1921,
the increase of the houses also the changes of the
employment of the inhabitants, originally living by farming only. At the end of the 19th century part
of the local inhabitants started to work in nearby industrial plants. Most of them served in Brno or in
Vídeň.
Regarding the new changes, which had significant impact on the development of the villages
are mentioned the erection of modern bridge, which connects
Bonnov
and
Dolní Čepí
and is used
until now, the reconstruction of the little road from
Nedvědice
to
Kovářová
in the fifties of the 20th
century, the reconstruction of the road to
Lískovec,
which was accessible for a long time only on bad
cart-roads. The book brings along the information about associations and some cultural events also
about the reconstruction of the cultural house in
Ujčov
and
Čepí.
The chapter about the history of
Dolní
Čepí
contents also information about the history of the St.
Václav
church in
Čepí.
The chapter about
the history of
Lískovec
brings the information about the school in
Lískovec,
which was founded in the
year
1795,
also pupils from
Kasaný
farm went there, but the pupils from
Ujčov
went to the school in
Štěpánov nad Svratkou,
the pupils from
Horní
and
Dolní Čepí
and from
Kovářova
went to the school
in
Nedvědice.
Due to the little number of the pupils, the school in
Lískovec
went under in
1966.
The chapter about the recent history of
Ujčov
contents parts about the development of the indu¬
strial plants in
Ujčov
(beside the mill and sawmill it was stone-pit, later the nozzles and handles pro¬
duction and in the year
1942
the brick-plant was established), the history of agricultural cooperatives,
which were the ameliorative cooperative, forest cooperative, which is administering part of the forests
of the former
Pernštejn
domination and above all agricultural cooperative distillery. There is also in¬
formation about the history of new connected agricultural cooperative and also newly mentioned little
companies, which were created after the year
1990.
After the loss of independence in the year
1980
civil committee was in
Ujčov.
For the develop¬
ment of
Ujčov
and other local parts
Lískovec
and
Dolní Čepí,
was much more significant the impor¬
tance of the local associations, firstly volunteer fire company and sports club in
Ujčov.
The last chapter in the book about
Ujčov
history is the history of one of the most important local
cultural action, which is celebrated yearly from time out of mind. The chapter is about festival
ujčov-
ské hody
-
the
Ujčov
feast. Part of the book is the list of used archival sources and the list of the most
important literature regarding the history of
Ujčov
and connected villages. The history of every village
in the last century is also documented by photographs of the events and people in the text and also in
the hooked illustration.
