The monography «Ancient metal of Before Caucasus. The typology, historical and cultural
aspects of research» is devoted to study of outstanding phenomenon of the Maikop culture dated
back IV mill.

and investigation it s metal. The historiography account of problems of metal of the
early period of a bronze age of the North Caucasus is presented. The special chapter is devoted to the
chronology of the Maikop culture (Maikop-Novosvobodnaia community). Three ranges of dates are
observed by more

The full account
ofall
subjects of the Maikop culture is resulted in the chapters devoted to typology
(daggers, spear herds, sword, axes, chisel, awls, forks, weal of bronze, goblets, caldrons). Products
from gold, silver, semiprecious stones are considered in work also. The book contains illustrations
almost all known Maikop subjects by
2009.
About

bronze products of the Maikop culture are
considered in total. Among illustrations there are unique photos of things of the Maikop kurgan and
other subjects executed by the author. The basic conclusions are that. There is the photo of earliest
real sword of the World.
The collection of Maikop bronze products reflects local manufacture of masters of the Maikop
culture. Among them there are no import subjects from out of the Caucasian region. The structure
ot metal of subjects is homogeneous and presented by arsenic and arsenic-nickel bronzes. Especially
t is a lot of products of arsenic-nickel bronzes in central Ciscaucasia. Under forms of products it is
possibility to allocate western and east areas of metal working. They differed some types of products,
such as daggers, axes, metal ware.
Maikop metal working from the very beginning has been connected with satisfaction needs
°r military science, carpentry crafts, prestigious feasts, cult sphere. It is probably to assume that
specialization has been taken place between professionals on making different types and categories

The jeweller complex of ornaments of the Maikop culture is rich and various. Its full typology

ornaments of the Maikop kurgan in the stile of Flower of Life with a cult of goddess Inanna-
