In subsequent articles he writes about Rungus social structure, property system, and ritual practices; Dusun language groups; the domestic developmental cycle and residence; the Rungus cognatic social system; the impact of modernization; Rungus sexual behavior; and the impact of Christianity on Rungus conservation practices. Laura Appell's works address Rungus gender relations, menstruation, and Rungus female spirit mediums. Their daughter's work discusses Malaysian latah behavior
