The First Anglo-Sikh War was fought
between the Sikh Empire and the British
East India Company between
1845
and
1846.
It resulted in partial subjugation of the
Sikh kingdom. The Second Anglo-Sikh War
took place in
1848
and
1849,
between the
Sikh Empire and the British Empire. It
resulted in the subjugation of the Sikh
kingdom, and the annexation of the Punjab
and what subsequently became the North-
West Frontier Province by the East India
Company. The Sikh kingdom of the Punjab
was consolidated and expanded by
Maharaja
Rânjit
Singh during the early
years of the nineteenth century.

H.C. Sharma has obtained his master
degree and B.Ed, from Meerat University.
He has a long experience of teaching for
more than eighteen years as senior lecturer
in Delhi. During the period he has attended
many seminars and provide literary
knowledge to the students. Being a great
lover of reading and writing, his aim is to
promote the education to the society.
Dharam Singh holds M.A., B.Ed., has
retired as senior lecturer from Directorate of
Education and educate the Students of
History. During the period he attended
many seminars and now giving
Consultancy to Educational Institutions. He
has edited many books and is a regular
contributor to many journals and
magazines.
