Bystré
and an entrepreneur in the textile industry, obta¬
ined both mines in

Mining activity ceased in

Mountains. The largest expansion of the mines in Radvanice occurred
after
1918
when the extracting company in Radvanice was founded. Then
mining activity increased, and a lot of owners were investing large amounts
of money into the construction of facilities. Natural}·, the number of employed
coal-miners also increased. The fifth chapter deals with the period after the
Second World War when the mines in Radvanice found themselves on the
land of the so-called Third Reich, governed by the Germans. That was the
reason why the extracting company in Radvanice sold the mines to Western
Bohemia joint-stock mining company with headquarters in
Zbůch

Between

1945,
the coal-miners count was completed by Rus¬
sian prisoners. Two of them died here and are buried here. The sixth chap¬
ter describes the expropriation of the local mines after the Second World
War and in

were incorporated into a newly founded state-owned national
company called
Východočeské uhelné doly

Trutnov.
The seventh chapter
deals with the period between

1994.

ner Gemeinde gewidmet ist, wo er lebte und aufwuchs. Die locker nach¬

dass
sie sich nicht nur mit der Gemeinde Radowenz
selbst befasst, sondern auch viele neue Erkenntnisse bringt, die er bei seinem
Studium in in- und ausländischen Archiven, Museen und Bibliotheken vom
Gebiet des Radowenz-Wernersdorfer Kohlenreviers entdeckt hat, also aus

rücken ] bringt er weitere bisher unbekannte geschichtliche Tatsachen aus
dem Gebiet der Steinkohlenförderung, einschließlich der neu entdeckten
ältesten schriftlichen Erwähnung über die Steinkohlenförderung in diesem
Gebiet bereits im Jahre 1804. Das Buch ist in neun Kapitel gegliedert. Das
Einführungskapitel befasst sich mit dem Steinkohlenvorkommen in der Welt,
den ersten schrifllichen Vermerken über die Funde in Böhmen und der Stein¬
kohleentstehung in der geologischen Zeit des Paläozoikums. Das zweite Ka¬

In der Gemeinde Qualisch belegt er,

hier die ersten Kohlenfunde be¬
reits zum Jahre 1804 datiert werden, als das historisch erste Grubenwerk hl.
Anna erwähnt wurde. An der Kohlenförderung in Qualisch beteiligten sich
Rudolf Manger, gebürtig aus Potsdam bei Berlin, oder Wilhelm Voelkel aus
Eckersdorf bei Neurode [heute
Boianów bei
Nowa Ruda].
Die bedeutendsten
Gruben, die sie besaßen, waren seit 1839 die Gruben Cölestin und
Prokopi.
Aus Wüstrei stammen die ersten schriftlichen Vermerke über eine Förderung
aus dem Jahre 1810. Der größte Aufschwung für die Gruben in Wüstrei ist
jedoch nach 1839 zu verzeichnen, was Rudolf Manger, Franz Lamprecht
aus
Malá Chýška (Kleinchyschka,
heute
Chyšky)
unweit des südböhmischen
Tábor,
Herrmann Pohl aus dem preußischen Bad Reinerz
[Duszniki Zdrój]
und der Grubengewerkschaft der Unternehmer Pohl, Rzehak und Pfeifer zu
verdanken ist. In der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts wurden in Wüstrei
zwei wichtige Grubenwerke erschlossen. Das erste war die Grube Klara,
1858-1890 in Betrieb, das die Starkstadter Herrschaft besaß, repräsentiert
durch die Familie Kaiserstein. Die zweite Grube war seit 1854 die Grube
Herrmann. Beide Gruben erwarb 1888 der Wüstreier Landsmann und Tex-
tilunternehmer Johann Rzehak. Die Grube Klara hörte mit der Förderung
1890 auf und die Grube Herrmann 1896. Seine Aktivitäten übertrug dann
Rzehak nach Radowenz, wo er die neue Grube Katharina abteufen ließ, eine
neue Färberei auf Türkischrot einrichtete und eine Bleiche besaß. Die För¬
derung von Steinkohle in weiteren Gemeinden des Radowenz-Wernersdor¬
fer Reviers in
Slatin,
Jibka und Ober- und Unter-Wernersdorf war nicht so
intensiv als in der zuletzt verfolgten Gemeinde Radowenz, wohin sich nach
und nach der Abbau konzentrierte und wo er auch in der letztgenannten
Grube Katharina/
Kateřina
1994 aufhörte. Dies ist das Motto des dritten
Kapitels. Die Steinkohlenförderung in Radowenz beginnt zwar mit dem ers¬
ten Fund im Jahre 1804 und der Erwähnung der ersten Grube, Laurenzi
genannt, aber sie entwickelt sich erst nach 1839, als hier Grubenmaße nicht
nur Rudolf Manger, aber besonders der südböhmische Grundbesitzer Franz
Lamprecht aus
Malá Chýška
bei
Tábor
erwarb. Eine seiner Gruben wurde
dann 1839 nach seiner Tochter Katharina benannt. Der Name dieser Gru¬
be wurde ferner bis 1994 gebraucht (mit Ausnahme der Jahre 1950-1990,
als er aufStachanov nach dem sowjetischen Aktivisten umbenannt wurde).
Die Entwicklung der Industrierevolution und der Dampfmaschinen zog fer¬
ner ins Riesengebirgsvorland die Unternehmer Albert Lanna, die Gebrüder
Klein und Johann Liebig aus Reichenberg. Die größte Entfaltung der Förde¬
rung war jedoch nach 1918, als hier die Radowenzer Kohlengewerkschafl
gegründet wurde. Es erhöhte sich die Förderung, die Besitzer investierten
in den Bau von Gebäuden und Einrichtungen, es stieg die Anzahl der be¬
schäftigten Bergarbeiter. Der Zeit, als sich nach der Entfachung des Zweiten
Weltkrieges die Radowenzer Gruben auf dem Gebiet des von den Deutschen
beherrschten Dritten Reiches befanden, widmet sich das fönfte Kapitel.
Die Radowenzer Kohlengewerkschaft verkaufte deshalb 1942 die hiesigen
Gruben dem Westböhmischen Bergbau-Actienverein mit dem Sitz in Zwug
(Zbůh)
bei Pilsen und in den Jahren 1942-1945 wurde die Anzahl der Berg¬
arbeiter um russische Gefangene erhöht. Zwei von ihnen starben hier auch
und sind am Ortsfriedhof begraben. Nach dem Krieg wurden die hiesigen
Gruben verstaatlicht und wie das sechste Kapitel beschreibt, wurden sie

Grube in Radvanice, wo die Förderung zum 31. März 1994 abgeschlossen
wurde. Der Autor ergänzt die Menge von den ermittelten Daten mit einer
großen Anzahl von Begleit-Bilddokumenten, wie Grubenkarten, historischen
Ansichtskarten und Fotos, schriftlichen Archivalien oder zeitgenössischen
