Zusammenfassung: | "Ali Mirsepassi's book presents a powerful challenge to the dominant media and scholarly construction of radical Islamist politics, and their anti-Western ideology, as a purely Islamic phenomenon derived from insular, traditional, and monolithic religious "foundations." It argues that the discourse of political Islam has strong connections to important and disturbing currents in Western philosophy and modern Western intellectual trends. The work demonstrates this by establishing links between important contemporary Iranian intellectuals and the central influence of Martin Heidegger's philosophy. We are also introduced to new democratic narratives of modernity linked to diverse intellectual trends in the West and in non-Western societies, notably in India, where the ideas of John Dewey have influenced important democratic social movements"--Provided by publisher |

Schr., Text pers. - Literaturangaben "Ali Mirsepassi's book presents a powerful challenge to the dominant media and scholarly construction of radical Islamist politics, and their anti-Western ideology, as a purely Islamic phenomenon derived from insular, traditional, and monolithic religious "foundations." It argues that the discourse of political Islam has strong connections to important and disturbing currents in Western philosophy and modern Western intellectual trends. The work demonstrates this by establishing links between important contemporary Iranian intellectuals and the central influence of Martin Heidegger's philosophy. We are also introduced to new democratic narratives of modernity linked to diverse intellectual trends in the West and in non-Western societies, notably in India, where the ideas of John Dewey have influenced important democratic social movements"--Provided by publisher Heidegger, Martin / 1889-1976 / Influence Dewey, John / 1859-1952 / Influence Heidegger, Martin 1889-1976 (DE-588)118547798 gnd rswk-swf Dewey, John 1859-1952 (DE-588)118525069 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte 1900-2000 Islam and politics / Iran Islam and secularism / Iran Intellectuals / Political activity / Iran Islamic modernism / Iran Politik Politik (DE-588)4046514-7 gnd rswk-swf Geistesleben (DE-588)4274490-8 gnd rswk-swf Intellektueller (DE-588)4027249-7 gnd rswk-swf Rezeption (DE-588)4049716-1 gnd rswk-swf Islam (DE-588)4027743-4 gnd rswk-swf Säkularismus (DE-588)4463409-2 gnd rswk-swf Philosophie (DE-588)4045791-6 gnd rswk-swf Iran / Politics and government / 20th century Iran / Intellectual life Westliche Welt (DE-588)4079237-7 gnd rswk-swf Iran (DE-588)4027653-3 gnd rswk-swf Iran (DE-588)4027653-3 g Intellektueller (DE-588)4027249-7 s Geistesleben (DE-588)4274490-8 s Philosophie (DE-588)4045791-6 s Westliche Welt (DE-588)4079237-7 g Rezeption (DE-588)4049716-1 s DE-604 Islam (DE-588)4027743-4 s Politik (DE-588)4046514-7 s Säkularismus (DE-588)4463409-2 s Heidegger, Martin 1889-1976 (DE-588)118547798 p Dewey, John 1859-1952 (DE-588)118525069 p 100-01/(3/r مير سپاسي، علي ut 250-02/(3/r چاپ چهارم 245-03/(3/r روشنفكران ايران روایتهای یأس و امید علي مير سپاسي 264-04/(3/r تهران نشر توزعه ۱۳۸۶ |
