This issue is devoted to the 75th anniversary of Holodomor, the Ukrainian genocide of
1932-1933.
Holodomor was one of the largest national genocides of the twentieth century. I
invited three scholars from the USA, UK and Australia to contribute. I also invited contribu¬
tions by two people outside the academic profession. Morgan Williams kindly allowed me to
reproduce some illustrations of Holodomor paintings by Ukrainian artists for which he is
trustee. Peter Borisow, active for many years in Ukrainian affairs worldwide, prepared an ar¬
ticle giving his interpretation of Russian-Ukrainian relations as a historically ongoing Rus¬
sian aggression against Ukraine, culminating in the Holodomor and continuous efforts

stray Ukrainian civilization. There will be agreement and disagreement about his interpreta¬
tion, but I believe it is suitable for publication in an anniversary issue.
For over twenty years there has been publication of many documents, books and
about the collectivization phenomena in the Soviet Union

against Ukrainians in particular. In recent years
