was one of the

architects of the early twentieth century.
His work included magnificent Art
Deco
buildings, spectacular
Ziegfeld
Follies pro¬
ductions, and dramatic sets for the Metropolitan
Opera, among many other accomplishments. Joseph

Secession movement. Moving to America in
