Resume'
The monograph «NATIONAL SPACE» consists of two interdependent parts:
«Historical and cultural, urboecological prerequisites for a steady city development»
and «Ethnocultural conditions of steady city development».
The academic edition (under the aegis of the Comission of Russian Federation for
UNESCO affairs) is fulfilled as results of many years scientific researches, done by the
V.V.Lazarev's Creative studio authors. According to the contest for the best scientific
and creative works of
1997
and
2000
years the fulfilled researches were marked by the
Diploma of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Building sciences.
Historical and cultural and ecological aspects of town development in space and
time were analyzed on example of the town Doobny (Moscow region)
-
one of the best
known «towns of science». The territory of the Volga's upper part is a both typical and
distinctive model for a historical and cultural space of Russia's European part.
A modern town is located on the banks of Volga, next to Ivankovo's water-reservoir,
build at the same time as the Moscow Channel. Around the town, not far from its
border, one can find lots of relicts and monuments of archeology and primitive art
(some of them
-
of X-VIII millenniums B.C.). There are cultural layers, where one lived
in first millennium B.C. and some are dated as belonging to the first or second century.
In the town itself, in the region «Ratmino» (XI
-
beginning of the
XVIII
century)
-
there can be seen the country-estate of the well-known Russian historian
V.N.Tatyshchev. Later it belonged to historical duke Viasemsky.
One can see there the Church of the Virgin Praise and a park
-
typical for the
Russian country-estate of the XVIII-XIX century.
The historical and genetic, historical and geographical methods of approach to the
emergency problems of ancient places for living allow us to judge by facts about the
genesis of the ancient Russian towns and about their steady development
-
along with
the necessary decision of economic, social as well as of modern ecology problems.
The steady development of towns with safe living conditions must become one of the
significant orientations for the state policy in town-building. Russian Federation possess
colossal historical and cultural heritage as well as natural resources, worthy of special
attention in accordance with the basic principles of the UNESCO Convention of
1972.
The second part of the monograph is based on historical and cultural, archeological
and other materials of Surgut with the great river-Ob
-
the mostly character Western
Siberia region in the Asian part of Russia. The problems of interaction and
interdependency of different ethnographic cultures are examined here from the position
of each nations contribution into native and cultural heritage of the humanity.

Resumé
In the last decade of the XX century in the country radical changes took place in
geopolitical as well as in political and economical situations. Considerable changes took
place in the sphere of region's direction as well as of the control for the condition of
surroundings and so on.
The national relations are often tied with striving for the assertion of the original
ethnocultural value as well as are conditioned by the progress of national self-
consciousness, called in the end of the XX century as a «ethnical paradox». Such
tendencies are found in many countries, including USA, where the ethnologists for long
years kept to the conception of «melting pot». The modern world development goes in
interaction of processes for globalisation and regionalism.
The culture of Russia is many-sided already because of its vast space, variety of its
natural conditions, of the peculiarity of interaction of local and introduced traditions, of
history and culture roots. Respect for authors cultural traditions and national art forms
stability of international relations.
The history of Russian territories proves the determining role of town-building as
means of social and economical progresses transformation into life quality, formed by
architecture.
Under the leading principles of keeping quality and variety of natural and cultural
surroundings it is possible to develop successfully different methods of regional
problems in town-building art and civil architecture as well as the sacral structures.
The monograph is destined for town-builders, architects, art critics and for
everybody, interested in the culture of Russia, modern problems of town-building and
architecture.
