Zusammenfassung:Beginning with an informative biography of one of the most influential pediatric pathologists of our time, Benjamin H. Landing, this volume reviews and augments our knowledge of the pathologic aspects of several groups of frequently encountered gastroenterologic disorders in infants and children. The first two papers discuss gastrointestinal biopsy in suspected reflux esophagitis as well as endoscopic and histologic findings in pediatric gastritis. This is followed by a review which includes a description of the common non-infectious forms of colitis and a useful guide to the assessment of active and chronic colitis. In the final papers, the histological criteria for the diagnosis of Hirschsprung disease are discussed extensively and answers regarding the diagnosis, assessment and management of juvenile polyposis are provided.Pediatric pathologists and pediatricians will find this to be a valuable publication as it offers practical guidelines for the interpretation of pathologic findings and the accurate diagnosis and assessment of common pediatric gastroenterologic disorders
