NONE WILL GET YOU EVERYWHERE YOU MIGHT WANT TO GO. THE CONCEPT OF MODEL
AND WHAT QUALIFIES AS ONE IS ALSO PRESENTED HERE. CHAPTER ONE- THE FACES
OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN EDUCATION: MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES AT WORK
WE SURVEY CONTEMPORARY MODELS AND THE INTERESTING PROBLEM OF INTEGRATING
THEM INTO SCHOOL AND DISTRICT ORGANIZATIONS. SOME ARE VERY POPULAR
TODAY, BUT SOME LESS FREQUENTLY USED MODELS HAVE CONSIDERABLE POTENTIAL.
CHAPTER TWO-SUPPORTING THE INDIVIDUAL EDUCATOR: HELPING PEOPLE DO THEIR
THING ALTHOUGH ALL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT INTENDS TO SUPPORT
INDIVIDUALS, SOME TYPES FOEUS ON THE INDIVIDUAL AS A PERSON AND PROVIDE
AVENUES FOR PEOPLE TO GROW ACCORDING TO THEIR OWN LIGHTS. VASTLY
UNDERUSED, THIS VARIETY HAS TREMENDOUS PROMISE. PREFACE TO CHAPTERS
THREE, FOUR, AND FIVE- DEMOCRACY, CHARTERS, AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
HOW FERTILE IS ANY PARTICULAR SCHOOL AS A SETTING FOR PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT? WE PRESENT A PLAN FOR ORGANIZING THE SCHOOL THROUGH
