About the book
The development and wide spread application of functional imaging, for example
ÏDG-PET
and PET-CT, have
revolutionized the planning process for radiation medicine. Image-Guided Radiation Therapy therefore allows

Wlacklis MD is a Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic

College of Medicine of Case
Western Reserve University, Ohio, USA. He has authored more than

articles, book chapters, and textbooks.
In addition, he is an active member of numerous professional societies including the American Society for
Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Macklis s research
interests are focused on new approaches to increasing precision in radiotherapy including biological tumor
targeting and automated aspects of focal radiotherapy. He also is involved in research on automated systems
for error prevention and quality assurance in medicine.

MD PhD
is a Professor and Director of the Molecular Imaging Center at the University of Southern
California, Los Angeles, California, USA. He is board certified in both Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, specializing
in diagnostic imaging applications in oncology. He is a member of the Society of Nuclear Medicine, and Fellow
of both the American College of Nuclear Medicine and American College of Radiology. He is an expert in the
clinical use of positron emission tomography in the diagnosis, staging and treatment monitoring of cancer. His
research interests include the development of new radiolabeled imagining agents for use in the diagnosis of
cancer and novel therapies of cancer using radioisotopes.
