Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP)
Immune thrombocytopenia,
formerly known as idiopatnie
or immune thrombocytopenic
purpura (ITP), is
assoda¬
teci
with bleeding of high variability. In primary 1TP the etio-
logical background remains unknown, and therefore ITP
remains a diagnosis of exclusion. Several achievements
have been made in recent years, including international
cooperation to draft guidelines, successful basic science
and clinical research, and development of new drugs. The
book presents historical details, an overview of the patho-
physiology, pharmacology, and the clinical aspects» the
definition, classification, diagnosis and treatment of chii-
dren and adults with ITP, as well as future considerations.
