SUMMARY
Krupa na Vrbasu
(meaning
Krupa
on the river
Vrbas)
and the settlements in
its surroundings, which were »on the territory of its municipality, represent in
diverse segments
a complets
.ąatural,
anthropogeographic, ethnic, cultural,
economic and functional eatity. From that aspect, the following remarks are
relevant, important for future anthropogeographic, demographic and economic
development, in the steps gf programming and planning of development of
Krupa
na Vrbasu
as local
focus
(center) in Republic of
Srpska:
-
scientific knowledges on
Krupa na Vrbasu,
including the surrounding
settlemente
which composed until
1963
an administrative system of governance
and territorial composition of the municipality with the same name and in the
perspective
of anthropogeography and contemporary geography before this
research it was a blank field with sonje
parţial
scientific fads which couldn t
enable acquisition of complete and comprehensive image about the characteristics
of this territory. Those reasons justify the formulation of this rather precisely
formulated, classified and systematized body of knowledge dealing with
settlements:

field gathering of the material, known in geography and other
sciences as fieldwork, going from home to home, from one family to another, from
one village to another, and very often returning back if we discover in another
village something concerning the first one, the research comprised

moved village and lots of occasional settlements), as well as population, because
the census in Republic of
Srpska
hasn t been done since
1991
what gave us the
data that the current number of
inhabitante
living on this territory is
8244 (4385
men and

women), of those

are youth,

young
adulte,

adulte
and
2251
old persons and

inventory of comuters for work and education (pupils
and
studente)
what was the starting point for explanation and understanding of
quantitative and qualitative characteristics of spatial and functional relations and
links (daily gravitation and circulation of people) in the network of the
settlemente
in this research;
-
explanation of the overall development of
settlemente
and their
anthropogeographic and demographic state, especially the one that was registered
through the fieldwork, as much as it was possible, it is based on the linkages and
comparisons with accessible scientifically verified geographic and historic,
archeological, ethnological, economic and knowledges from other scientific
disciplines, and also based on facts from different data sources (the existing fund
of statistical data, cadaster data, spatial plan of
Banjaluka
municipality etc.);
-
following various physical, social, economic and regional geographic
characteristics of
Krupa na Vrbasu
and
ite
surroundings represent a specific spatial
and functional complex dominated by convergent gravitation towards
Krupa na
Vrbasu,
as well as
¡te
multiple spatial and functional link with
Banjaluka,
the
regional center of
Bosanska krajina
(around
2130
km2) and the Banjaluka-Doboj
region, as the capital of Republic of
Srpska
(25.053
km2);

the settlements of former municipality
Krupa na Vrbasu,
they were

until
1976,
they can be put in the group of underdeveloped economically with a
pronounced agrarian function which is based on extensive agricultural production,
due to the preserved environment they are potential producers of organic food
having in mind its demand on the market nowadays;
-
characteristics of the agrarian landscapes and production where the
dominant land-use is for pasturing and meadows which occupy
7592
ha or
16,8%
on one side, and forests which occupy
21011
ha or
46,5%
of the complete
territory from the other territory, that indicates the necessity of intensifying cattle
breeding development, which had in the past the leading role in the structure of
economy, and also forestry and timber industry, which would be realized through
the system of supportive measures initiated on the state, regional and local levels
through the construction of small cattle farms,
forestation
of areas without
vegetation, organized logging etc.
-
untouched nature, as well as representation of natural and anthropic
tourist values in the settlements and their closer and further surrounding may be
the starting point for the development of rural tourism, ethno-tourism and eco-
tourism where almost all villages with appropriate tourist planning and investment
can be bearers of the development in this area;
-
it is without any doubt that the valley of
Vrbas,
especially in the part where
nowadays its initial core is formed of the week-end houses temporary settlement

on the
Krupa
river, in the future tourism development plans, it can figure
as a recreation and
picknick
site, having in
mirtei
f
Ré
proximity of
Banjaluka
and
Mrkonjic Grad,
potential tourist dispersal centers (focal points for tourist demand).
From those statements and facts it is obvious that there is a need for
undertaking more planning measures in the field of revitalization of settlements,
population and production in this area. In that sense we can conclude the
following: the program of revitalization and development
Krupa
eco
2000
from
1996
which was cited a few times in the footnotes, represents in various segments
a document that needs an update, as well as the Spatial plan for the municipality
of
Banjaluka,
adopted in
1990,
in which the settlements like Bocae and Kola are in
the group of central zones , and
Krupa na Vrbasu
in the group of central zone
areas . From that point of view there is no doubt about the necessity for
elaboration of a new program for revitalization, which would have its ground in the
principles of market-oriented rural economy, first of all the private sector in those
economic activities and sectors, and also the new municipal spatial plan which
would establish a new hierarchical and functional network of settlements with their
central functions, where
Krupa na Vrbasu
would have the function of municipal, or
local center of the second rank, with municipal or functional limits which would
correspond to the territory of the former municipality
Krupa na Vrbasu.
It is also
without any doubt that the elaboration of a new program of revitalization of
settlements, population and rural production should be based on those planning
measures, interventions and actions which would take into account numerous
activities on different hierarchical levels (republic, regional, sub-regional and local).
