Two companions, a hunter-mystic and a mysterious dog set out from ancient Africa at a
time when metaphysical knowledge managed human systems, and minds could travel

transcendental spirit-force of natural music
they undertook a mission that served to inspire spiritual harmony and peaceful
coexistence in an otherwise turbulent universe.
OKEKE is a mythological adventure travelogue thatberffe in an African human
community eons before there is contact with exogenous world sj stems. It tra erses an
overwhelmingly different and highly intelligent ecological terrain;

overcomes a
number of bizarre, apparently insurmountable environmental, animal and human
nd en mute it discusses the science and multiple meanings of music that
transform humans into godly status. Antagonistic nations are pacified and aggressive
dispositions are tamed. The timeous return of the two explorers to their ancient African
home forestalls a protracted funerary event that would otherwise have permanently
excluded Okeke, who had been deemed dead, from the company of the living. The
funeral ceremony is instantly transformed into a hero s welcome for the fabled hero.
Interwoven into this magical tale are sub-plots

a typically African love drama that
attains sublime denouement, while Agum, the plucky little spirit-dog, disappears as
mysteriously as she arrived

Okeke is a creative, fictional tale, exploring the indigenous African social, religious,
medical and mythological worlds with musical imagery.
