Science] has been dedicated to the memory of a geographer and a remarkable

Jackowski, a professor of the Academy of Economics

and the Jagiellonian University
(1955-1978)
wrote

his foreword. It is an aftermath of a scientific session of the Polish Academy
of Arts and Sciences dated 14th November
2003
that was organised on the
20th anniversary of Professor
Antoni
Wrzosek s death by the Academy,
the Archive of Science of Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) and Polish
Academy of Arts and Sciences
(PAU)
in Cracow and a group of his students
and followers. The volume consists of articles describing various scientific
activities of
Antoni
Wrzosek as a meritorious Silesia
(Śląsk)
researcher,
co-founder of the Polish anthropogeography, geography of tourism, regional
geography as well as town and country, and regional planning, founder of
the Cracovian school of industry geography, enriched with some remem¬
brance essays.
