Arhitekt Vladimir Šubic, slikar Ivan Vavpotič, kipar Boris Kaiin in ciani društva Trgovska akademija ter vsi donatorji in somišljeniki, uvodno misel namenjam Vam, ki ste pred mnogimi desetletji mislili in dokazali, kako po- membno je dobro šolstvo in s tem po¬ vezano znanje, kako nujno je zagotoviti dobre pogoje za učenje in pridobivanje osebnostnih lastnosti, vrednot in veščin za slovenski narod, da bi kljub svoji malo številčnosti lahko vstopil v sveto- vni prostor trgovine, bi ne le to, vedeli ste, da kultura in šolstvo ne smeta hoditi vsak svojo pot, da morata hoditi z roko v roki, da bi dosegli in dokazali, kaj na¬ rod zmore in zna. In tako so se pred sedemdesetimi leti na tedanji Bleiweisovi, sedanji Prešer- novi cesti, prvič odprla vrata v sedanjo Ekonomskp solo Ljubljana, tako Usta, skozi katera lahko vstopate z Gregorči- čeve ulice, manjša, in tista, skozi katera 95 vstopate s Prešernove ceste. In šolstvu je bila zaupana izjemna mojstrovina Vas, gospod arhitekt, da bi z njo ravnali spoštljivo, da bi v njej pomagalo mlado- stnikom, da dosežejo svojo poklicno željo in učiteljem, da doživljajo uspehe preko svojih dijakov, ki so uspešni v svetovnem prostoru in prepoznavni kot sinovi slovenskih mater in očetov. Leta kasneje, ste jim, gospod Vavpotič in Vi, gospod Kalin, dodali svoje stvarit- ve in še enkrat poudarili pomen trgov- skega (ekonomskega) šolanja za širitev glasu о poslovnosti, ustvarjalnosti in kakovosti Slovenije in Slovencev v svet, kar predstavlja globus čisto na vrhu ští- rinadstropne stavbe, Vaše delo, gospod Šubic, ki bi morala biti zaradi političnih interesov nižja, a politika je tedaj morala kloniti pred argumenti o pomembnostjo šolstva, gospodarstva, trgovine. Ko že sedmo leto vstopam skozi srednji vhod te spoštljive stavbe, kulturnega spomenika, nič kolikokrat pomislim, kakšen greh se dela na tej stavbi, ki je bila namenjena rasti in toplemu vzdušju ter pomoči posameznikom in generaci- jam, ki se šolajo v ekonomskih usmerit- vah. Kakšna škoda je, da tako eminent¬ na stavba, ki 24. marca 2004 praznuje svoj sedemdeseü rojstni dan, propada in kaže svojo starost na vsakem koraku. Čutim se soodgovorno. Do Vas, spošto¬ vani gospodje, do kulturnega spomeni¬ ka, v katerem smem uresničevati svoje pedagoške ideje in sodelovati v učno vzgojnem procesu generaci) mladih, do. kolegov, ki jim ne zagotavljam pogojev za delo, kakor ste si jih zamislili pred osemdesetimi leti, do dijakov, ki čutijo toplino stavbe in njeno dotrajanost obe- nem in do vseh bodočih rodov, ki bodo spoznávali, kako mačehovski znamo biti Slovenci do svoje kulturne dediš- čine, do šolstva, do kulture. Kam je šio spoštovanje, ki ste ga občutili Vi, ki ste ustvarjali ali Vi, ki ste zbirali denar in Vi, ki ste ga darovali, ker ste vedeli, za- kaj. Kam je šio vedenje, ki bi moralo biti danes, ко vstopamo v evropski prostor, še mnogo bolj prisotno, da se v njem ne borno izgubili. To, da ne vidite, kako je zlorabljen Vaš trud, Vaša sposobnost in požrtvoval- nost, ni nobena tolažba. Je le klic vsem tištim, ki morda vendarle vedo, da bo potrebno ohranjati takšne mojstrovine in kulturo prenašati na bodoče rodove, da bodo zmogli in znali izkoristiti svoje znanje na pravi način, zase in za svoj narod in svojo državo. »Ljudje, prižgite luč« je že davno pozival R Milčinski Ježek. In trenutek se izteka. Napočil je skrajni čas. Kajti nismo majhni, nikakor. Smo veliki, sposobni, ustvarjalni, a maloštevilni. In smo Slovenci, ki imamo kaj pokazati in dati. In, ki lahko ustvarimo še veliko, le ne vsak zase, ampak skupaj. In prav v tem borno ohranili svojo veličino in zasvětila bo Ježkova luč za vse »tiste male«, ki bodo postali veliki in ponosni na svojo zgodovino, na svoj rod in svojo domovino. Spoštovani gospodje, prepričana sem, da so v našem prostoru še ljudje, ki jim ni vseeno in bodo z nami našli pot, da Vam skupaj izrazimo resnično (in dolžno) spoštovanje. Ne nazadnje tuđi to delo, ki je danes pred slovensko jav- nostjo novega tisočletja, sedemdeset let kasneje, kliče sodobno slovensko druž¬ bo, da ne ostane brezbrižna, da opazi svojo dediščino in se ne ravna po starem slovenském reku, daje podarjeno vedno manjvredno od tistega, kar si zaslúžil z lastnim delom, odrekanjem in trudom, pac pa začne ceniti Vaše odrekanje, Vaš trud in Vaše delo. Eva Kardelj Cvetko LJUBLJANU VARCALO CASA Nekdanja Državna trgòvska akademija - danes ekonomska sola - v Ljubljani na Prešernovi 6 praznuje letos 70 let neprekinjenega pouka. Příspěvek osvet- Ijuje nekaj drobcev iz zgodovine stavbe in pouka v njej. Prvi del prináša oris skoraj 20-letnega boja za ustanovitev trgovske akademije. Šele sesutje avstro-ogrske monarhije in nastanek nove države Kraljevine SHS je pripomoglo, da je biła 4, decembra 1920 v Ljubljani odprta prva popolná trgov- ska srednja sola - trgòvska akademija. V drugem delu smo sledili trnovi poti prizadevanj za izgradnjo lastne stavbe in spremljali samo gradnjo. Ker sola ni imela lastne strehe, je morala gostovati drugod, najdlje na srednji tehnični soli. Ker denarne pomočí države ni bilo pri- čakovati, so vplivni veletrgovci, indu¬ strialei in bančmki ustanovili leta 1923 posebno društvo s ciljem zgraditi novo stavbo za trgovsko akademijo. Za prvi zbrani denar so še isto leto kupili stav- bišče na uglednem mestu poleg vládne palače. Ko so zbrali že precej dénárja, so pričeli iskati pomoč pri državi. Ta naj bi najela posebno večmilijonsko gradbeno posojilo. Vsi pogovori so se žal izjalo- vffi, tako da je na koncu najela poso¬ jilo mestna občina Ljubljana. Nacrte za novo solo je izdelal priznaní arhitekt Vladimir Šubic. Z gradnjo so pričeli leta 1933. Vmes seje nepričakovano zapletlo, saj je sosednja banska uprava gradnjo začasno celo ustavila zaradi domnevno previsoke stavbe, kar bi kazilo okolico. Potrebno je bilo izdelati poseben venec nad tretjim nadstropjem, ki optično znižuje stavbo. V tretjem delu smo ujeli nekaj zanimi- vosti pouka in življenja v soli sredi 30. let 20. stoletja. Čas od vselitve v novo stavbo pa do vojne je bil zlato obdo- bje trgovske akademije. V stavbi, ki je bila tedaj ena najsodobnejših v dravski banovini, je pouk stekel 24. marca 1934. Tedaj je bil ravnatelj dr. Karol Pirjevec, ki je vodil šolo še po drugi vojni do leta 1951. Leta 1934/35 je šolo obiskovalo 200 dijakov. Poučevali so široko razgledani profesorji (samo moški), mnogi med nji- mi so bili pisci prvih ekonomskih učbe- nikov. V dokaj obsežnem predmetniku so bili pomembni zlasti strokovni pred¬ meti, ves pouk pa je bü naravnan zelo praktično. Šola je büa dobro opremljena s knjigami, učili in zbirkami. Med dija- škimi društvi je bila posebej pomembna nekakšna zadruga - Merkur, kjer so lahko varčevali, kupovali poceni šolske potrebščine in se praktično urili v svoji stroki. Tuđi med drugo svetovno vojno šol- skí zvonec ni utihnu. Kljub pogostim alarmom, občasnim aretacijam in pre- kinitvam pouka je trgòvska akademija delovala do konca vojne. Ob srebrnem jubileju leta 1945 pa je zaradi spre- menjenih političnih in gospodarskih razmer izgubila svoje ime, a ne tuđi renoméja, saj (je) še naprej vse do danes služi(la) izobraževanju mladih in odra¬ slih na ekonomskem področju. Ludvik Mihelič ОУАІКД ШЈШ шишмж Dijakinje in dijaki Državne trgovske akademije v Ljubljani iz obdobja med prvo in drugo svetovno vojno ter po njej ocenjujejo svojo šolo kot elitno in zahtevno. Zanimanje za šolanje na njej je bilo veliko, saj je le-to dalo širše živ- Ijenjsko obzorje kot gimnazija. Učenci in učenke trgovske akademije so se naučili racionalnega mišljenja, obenem pa so razvijali tuđi ustvarjalnost in gojili oseb- nostno kulturo. S praktično usmeritvijo so dobili dobro izhodišče za nadaljnje življenje. Druga svetovna vojna je povzročila raz- lična politična prepričanja. Vendar so bili tako dijakinje in dijaki kot njihovi profesorji na človeški ravni drug druge- mu v oporo. Nastala so celo tako trdna prijateljstva, da živijo še dandanes. Šola je v tem času delovala brez prekinitve. Slog oblačenja in načini formalnega in neformalnega druženja dijakinj in dijakov so bili v vseh obdobjih odraz družbenih, posebno šolskih pravil ter ekonomskih razmer. Ob pouku in prak¬ tično strokovnem izobraževanju so se mladi uveljavljali predvsem na kultur- no-ustvarjalnem ter na športnem podro¬ čju. Njihovi dosežki kažejo na različne sposobnosti posameznikov. V današnjem času dijakinje in dijaki sti¬ ri leta v sproščenem delovnem vzdušju sole razvijajo zmožnost medsebojnega sodelovanja ter pridobivajo splošno humanistično in ekonomsko strokovno znanje. Šola jim posreduje tuđi vzgojne in kulturne vrednote. Velja za zahtev- nejšo, a hkrati obetavnejšo glede nada- ljevanja šolanja in zaposlitve. Čeprav se značilnosti posameznih ob- dobij med seboj razlikujejo, pa poslan¬ stvo sole ostają nespremenjeno: pripra¬ viti mlađega človeka čim bolj celostno na izzive příhodnosti. Terezija Jurca Caserman AšlHSTEKTURMS íítÄZVCU ШЖШ&МІШЕ SOLE LJUBLJANA Oi MJEMI ?Θ LEB Zgradba sedanje , Ekonomske sole Ljubljana je bila kot nekdanja Trgòvska akademija in Trgòvska šola sestavljena iz dveh ločenih sol, ko jo je v letih 1933 in 1934 projektiral znaní in priznaní ljubljanski arhitekt Vladimir Subie. Je ena njegovih vrhunskih arhitektonskih stvaritev v Ljubljani, poleg Ljubljanske- Povzeíek s prevodi 97 ga Nebotičnika, ki je bil v tedanjem času najvišja zgradba na Balkanu. Med gradnjo je bilo več zastojev, ker so hoteli stavbo arhitekturno spremeniti, vendar je kot avtoriteta odločno nastopil njen projektant Vladimir Šubic in temu nasprotoval in tako ohranil prvotno ob- liko stavbe in njenih lepih proporcev. Stavba je obogatena tuđi s portalnimi kipi priznanega slovenskega kiparja Kalina in s freskami v vhodní avu, ki jih je poslikal akademski slikar Vavpotič. Arhitekt Vladimir Šubic, projektant stavbe Ekonomske sole Ljubljana je bil eden najpomembnejših arhitektov tedanjega časa in sodobnik in prijatelj arhitekta Plečnika in Vurnika. Andrej Stermecki sežkov v opusih omenjenih avtorjev, a kljub vsemu prispeva к njuni popolnejši in celovitejši podobi. Breda Vidmar Stavba na Prešernovi 6 dandanes ni samo hram učenosti, ampak tuđi umet- nostni spomenik, ki so ga v tridesetih le- tih 20. stoletia sooblikovali trije přiznáni slovenski umetniki: arhitekt Vladimir Šubic, slikar Ivan Vavpotič in kipar Bo¬ ris Kalin. Slednji je s svojim kiparskim okrasom na zunanjščini stavbe poudaril njen namen. Ob glavni in stranski po¬ rtal je postavil premišljeno kombinacijo kipov z atributi, ki predstavljaju Mod¬ rost oz. Znanje, Merkúrja kot zaščitnika trgovine in različne industrijske dejav- nosti. V notranjosti stavbe se v trgov- sko in gospodarsko celoto vključujejo še Vavpotičevi portreti mecénov nad stopniščem in dve monumentalni freski v preddverju, ki predstavljata prihod Argonavtov v Emono ter ustanovitveno sejo Trgovske akademije. Cilj mojega raziskovanja je bil predsta¬ viti slikarja in kiparja ter njuno delo na naši soli, ki prav gotovo ne predstavlja prelomnic in vidnejših umetniških do- Od 9. julija 1998 nosi šola ime Ekonom¬ ska šola Ljubljana. V šolskem letu 2003/ 2004 je na soli 24 oddelkov, ki jih obis- kuje 670 dijakinj in dijakov. Na soli iz- vajamo dva programa: ekonomski teh- nik in ekonomska gimnazija. Program ekonomski tehnik se zaključi s poklicno maturo, program ekonomska gimnazija pa s splošno maturo. Na soli deluje 9 strokovnih aktívov, v katere se združuje 46 učiteljev. Od leta 1998 je ravnatelji¬ ca Eva Kardelj Cvetko, univerzitetna diplomirana psihologinja. Dijakinje in dijaki lahko na soli izbirajo različne iz- birne vsebine in ekskurzije. Sodelujejo lahko tuđi v dijaški skupnosti. Ema Kozar Kuhar «sli™ Kaju zdaj vem: je le rojstvo, življenje in smrt. Življenja po življenju ni. Smo le Ijudje, so rastline, žívali, stvari. Vse mine. Pred vami je delo, ki je v naših mislih nastajalo že dolgo časa in želi ob sedem- deseü obletnici delovanja ekonomskih šol v stavbi na Prešernovi б ponovno spomniti na potnembnost ohranjanja kulturnih znamenitosti v slovenském prostoru in vrniti ugled šolstvu, še po- sebej strokovnemu šolstvu. Poudariti želim tuđi takratno gledanje na šolstvo, požrtvovalnost pri ustanav- ljanju in zbiranju denarja ter izjemen strokoven trud priznanih slovenskih umetnikov pri zidavi sole, ki kaže na to, kolikšen ugled je pred sedmimi dese- tletji imelo trgovsko šolstvo in kako ce- njena in jasnovidno zacrtana je bila pot trgovine v svet, kar simbolizira globus na vrhu štirinadstropne stavbe, kije bila tedaj kar dve nadstropji višja od tedanje banske, zdajšnje vládne palače. Še večjo vrednost ji dajejo kasneje dodani Kali¬ novi kipi in Vavpotičeve slikarje. Soli pa je vdihnilo dušo sedemdeset generacij dijakov, ki so se solali in zoreli v njej, dosegali svoje cilje in doživljali burne trenutke razvoja na skrivnostnih poteh po šolskih stopniščih, v skrivnih kotičkih in učilnicah, dijakov, ki so do¬ življali prve ljubezni, čustva strahu in jeze, zadovoljstva in nezadovoljstva. In še danes je tako. Kajti čudoviti zidovi in enkratno pročelje sta zaživela in živita z všemi preteklimi, sedanjimi in bodo- čimi rodovi, ki vstopajo z upanjem in puščajo svoje sledi. Hvala vsem, ki ste poskrbeli, da je stav¬ ba nastala. Hvala vsem, ki ste in še bosi e na poti skoznjo puščali košček svoje zgodovine. Hvala tištim, ki ste nam do¬ volili vstopiti. v Vášo mladostno intimo in zapisati Vaše viđenje in čustvovanje v polpretekli zgodovini, in hvala tuđi tištim, ki ste ustvarili to delo. Czesław Miłosz, Life On Islands Dear gentlemen, Architect Vladimir Subie, painter Ivan Vav- potic, sculptor Boris Kalin, the members of the Trade Academy association, all the do¬ nors and those who share our ideas, I wish to dedicate this introductory thought to you. Many decades ago you believed and proved how important it is for the small Slovenian nation to get good edu¬ cation and knowledge and how crucial it is to assure good learning conditions and to acquire personal characteristics, values and skills, which would ensure our entering the world trade arena. Mo¬ reover, you were aware that culture and education must not go their separate ways, but should rather walk hand in hand in order to achieve and prove na¬ tion s knowledge and expertise. Thus, 70 years ago, the door on the for¬ mer Bleiweis Street, today s Prešemova Street as well as the smaller one on the Gregorčičeva Street opened for the first time into the present-day Ekonomska sola Ljubljana (hereinafter School of Economics Ljubljana). Your exceptional masterpiece, Mr. architect, was besto¬ wed on education, with the purpose to treat it with respect and to help the yo¬ ung achieve their vocational choice and teachers to find joy in their students success and in their recognition as the sons of Slovenian mothers and fathers. Mr. Vavpotič, and you, Mr. Kalin, have years later added your creations and thus once again emphasized the importance of commercial (economic) training for the world reputation of entrepreneurship, creativity and quality of Slovenia and its people. This is repre¬ sented with your globe at the top of the four-storey building, Mr. Subie. Though the building should have been lower be¬ cause of political interests, politics then had to yield to the arguments about the importance of education, economy and trade. When entering this prestigious buil¬ ding, a cultural monument, I often think how it is being violated. Its purpose was to encourage growth, warm atmosphe¬ re and help individuals and generations undergo training in economic profiles. It is truly a shame that such a venerable building, which will celebrate its 70th birthday on 23rd March 2004, is deterio¬ rating and showing its old age at every step. I, too, feel responsible. Towards you, dear gentlemen; towards this cultural monument in which I can realize my pedagogical ideas and participate in an educational process of young generati¬ ons; towards my colleagues, to whom I cannot offer such working conditions, as you imagined 80 years ago; towards the students, who feel the warmth of the building, despite its poor condition; and finally towards all the generations to come, who will realize how neglectful Slovenes can be towards their cultural heritage, educational system and cultu¬ re. Where did the respect vanish - the respect felt by those who were creating, those who coUected funds and those who donated them for a good cause? Where did the knowledge disappear - the knowledge which should be even more present today, upon entering Eu¬ rope? It is of poor comfort that you cannot see how your effort, your capability and unselfishness have been misused. This is merely a call to those who might nevertheless know that such masterpie¬ ces and culture must be preserved and passed on to the following generations; and these generations will then be able to use their knowledge - for themselves, for their nation and for their country. People turn on the light , cried R Milanski Ježek long ago. The time is running out. It is time to act. For we are in no way small. Though few in numbers, we are great, capable and inventive. We are Slovenes and have a lot to offer. And we can offer much more, individually and collectively. This is how our greatness will prevail and Ježek s light will be turned on for all those little ones , who will grow up and be proud of their history, nation and country. Dear gentlemen, I am truly convinced that there are people among us who do care and will therefore help us find the way to pay sincere (and much earned) respect to you all. After all, this 70-year- old masterpiece which is in front of you, calls upon the modern Slovenian society to stop being indifferent and recognise its true heritage. By starting to appre¬ ciate your forbearance, your effort and your work, the same society may hence disregard the old Slovenian saying that things offered are never as appreciated as those earned by hard work. Eva Kardelj Cvetko 100 THE COURSE OF TME This year the former Trade Academy - present-day School of Economics - in Ljubljana on Prešernova Street 6, cele¬ brates 70 years of continuous classes. This contribution sheds light on some parts of the building s history and clas¬ ses which took place in it. The first part is an account of an almost 20-year fight for the establishment of the Trade Academy. The first complete Trade High School - Trade Academy - was able to open its doors on 4th Decem¬ ber 1920 in Ljubljana, only after the fall of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and with the establishment of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (SHS). In the second part we followed a thorny path of building our school and witnes¬ sed its construction. Because the school did not have its own roof, the classes had to be held elsewhere, mainly in the Secondary Technical School. Since no financial help was to be expected from the state, influential wholesalers, industrials and bankers established a special association in 1923 in order to build the Trade Academy. In the same year, a building site on a prominent lo¬ cation near the Presidential Palace was bought with the first collected money. After a considerable amount of money had been collected, they stared to look for help from the state, which was to raise a multimillion construction loan. Unfortunately, all the talks yielded no result and thus the Municipality Ljub¬ ljana raised the loan instead. The emi¬ nent architect Vladimir Subie designed the new school. The construction works began in 1933, but were unexpectedly interrupted by the neighbouring Ban administration, which thought the building was too high and marred the surroundings. A special construction, which would opti¬ cally lower the building, had to be built above the third floor. In the third part we looked into some of the curiosities of life in the classes and school in the mid 30-ies of the 20th cen¬ tury. The time between moving into a new building and the war is considered as a golden age of the Trade Academy. The building, which was at the time one of the most modern in the Banovina of Drava, witnessed the beginning of classes on 24th March 1934. The then- principal was Dr. Karol Pirjevec, who continued to manage the school also after the WWII, until 1951. In the years 1934/35,200 students were attending the school. Professors (men only) were hig¬ hly educated, many among them were authors of the first economic textbooks. Although technical subjects were most important in a rather extensive syllabus, other classes were also very practically- oriented. The school was well equipped with numerous books, teaching aids and collections. A type of cooperative society, Merkur, was especially impor¬ tant among the students societies, since students could buy school aids at lower prices and get practical training in their own trade in it. The school bell did not stop ringing during the WWII. Despite numerous alarms, occasional arrests and inter¬ ruptions of classes, the Trade Academy continued to pursue its mission even during the war. At its Silver Jubilee in 1945, the school was forced to change its name because of the different political and economic conditions in the country. But it has maintained its reputation, for it continued educating the young and adults in the field of economics up to the present day. Ludvik Mihelič CULTORE АИО LIFESTYLE The students of the State Trade Aca¬ demy in Ljubljana saw their school between the WWI and WWII as elite and demanding. The interest for consi¬ dering this school has always been gre¬ at, since the school broadens horizons, perhaps more than a grammar school. Students of the Trade Academy were ta¬ ught to think rationally and to develop their creativity, which enabled them to pursue a sophisticated trend of self-ful¬ filment. Practically-oriented education has given them a good starting point for the future. Despite different political views during WWII, the students and their teachers continued to support each other. Fri¬ endships formed at that time were so firm that they still last today. The school work went on uninterrupted. During all periods, the style of clothing as well as formal and informal associ¬ ating among students reflected social but especially school regulations and economic situation. By attending clas¬ ses and with practical and professional education, the young asserted themsel¬ ves in the culturally-creative field and in the field of sports. Their achievements show diverse capabilities of individu¬ als. Nowadays students, Over their four ye¬ ars of schooling, develop the ability of cooperation in a relaxed working envi¬ ronment and thus gain general humani¬ stic and technical knowledge in the field of economics. The school also provides them with educational and cultural va¬ lues. It is considered as one of the more demanding secondary schools, but at the same time it ensures the continuati¬ on of education and employment. Although the characteristics of each pe¬ riod differ, the goal of the school rema¬ ins unchanged: to thoroughly prepare a young person for the future challenges. In those years it was constructed .by much renowned Ljubljana s architect Vladimir Subie and known as the Trade Academy and Trade School. The buil¬ ding is one of his greatest architectural achievements in Ljubljana, following the Ljubljana s Nebotičnik (Skyscraper), which was at the time the tallest buil¬ ding in the Balkans. There were many interruptions during construction, since the building was supposed to be changed architecturally. However, its designer Vladimir Subie firmly intervened and thus preserved the original design of the building along with its beautiful proportions. The building is adorned with portal statues by the distinguished Slovenian sculptor Kalin as well as with the fres¬ cos painted by academic painter Vavpo- tič in the school hall. The designer of the School of Economics Ljubljana, architect Vladimir Subie, was one of the leading architects of his time and a contempo¬ rary and a friend of architects Piernik and Vurnik. Andrej Stermecki The building on Prešeren Street 6 is not only the temple of knowledge, but also a cultural monument which was in the 20lh century co-designęd by three acclaimed Slovenians artists: architect Vladimir Subie, painter Ivan Vavpotič and sculptor Boris Kalin. The latter gave the building its purpose by de¬ corating its façade with his sculptures. On either side of the portal he placed a wellthought combination of sculptures with supplemental elements presenting Wisdom or Knowledge, Mercury as a patron of trade and other industrial ac¬ tivities. Inside the building, Vavpotič s portraits of the patrons above the stair¬ case and two monumental frescos, one presenting the arrival of Argonauts to Emona, the other the founders meeting of the Trade Academy, merge as a trade and economic whole of the building. The aim of my investigation was to present the painter and sculptor along with their works of art in our school. Their art, though not presenting any significant turning point or outstanding artistic achievements in their opuses, still allows a more detailed insight into their work. Breda Vidmar Since 9th June 1998, the school has been called School of Economics Ljubljana. In the school year 2003/2004, there are 24 classes attended by 670 students. Two programs are being carried out in the school: Economic vocational program¬ me and Economic and general grammar school. The first programme ends with vocational matura exams, the latter with matura. Forty-six teachers take part in the school s nine professional working groups. Since 1998, Eva Kardelj Cvetko, with a degree in Psychology, has been the principal of the school. Eva Kardélj Cvetko Dear readers, Before you is the work which has been present in our thoughts for a long time and with which we, at the 70th anniver¬ sary of the Economic Schools on Pre- šernova Street 6, wish to remind how important it is to preserve Slovenia s cultural heritage and to restore reputati¬ on of the educational system, especially of professional education. I also wish to emphasize how people at that time perceived education. Their zeal with the founding and collecting funds and also the remarkable professi¬ onal efforts of distinguished Slovenian artists when constructing this school show how recognized commercial edu¬ cation was 70 years ago, as well as how appreciated and clear cut was the path of world trade. This is symbolized by the globe at the top of the four-storey building, which at that time was two storeys higher than the then Ban s, pre¬ sent-day Presidential Palace. The added statues of Kalin and Vavpotič s pain¬ tings give it additional value. The school was brought to life by 70 generations of students, who studied and grew up in it, who achieved their goals and were in the mysterious sta¬ ircases, hidden spots and classrooms faced with turbulent times of growing up, first love, with fear and anger, satis- 102 faction and disappointments. And it has remained so up to the present. For the marvellous walls and the unique façade have their life and live with all the past, present and future generations, who en¬ ter the school with hope and leave their mark in it. Thank you all, who created this buil¬ ding and who left a piece of history in it when passing through, the history which we will continue to leave. Das ist kein Fall dort, wo auf einmal, in der Situation der Gefährdung, auflebender Schutzwert dieser Bände entdeckt wird. An dieser Stelle ist es gerecht, die Geschenke, die mir und meinen Kollegen in unserem Teil Buropas überge¬ ben wurden, zu erwähnen und gleichzeitig den Segen zu erteilen. Diese Kenntnisse und Erfahrungen ermöglichen dem slowe¬ nischen Volk trotz seiner Kleinigkeit in den Weltraum des Handels eintreten zu können. Aus diesem Grund wurden vor 70 Jah¬ ren zum ersten Mal das Tor der Wirtsc¬ haftsfachschule Ljubljana von der da- mahligen Bleiweis Straße, der heutigen Prešernova Straße, sowie auch die Tür aus der Gregoräcevav Straße geöffnet. Sie, Herr Architekt Subie, vertrauten Ihre Schöpfung dem Schulwesen, um mit ihr achtungsvoll umzugehen. Einer¬ seits sollte diese Meisterschaft den Ju¬ gendlichen helfen ihren Berufswunsch zu verwirklichen und anderseits ihren Lehrern gute Ergebnisse durch die Schüler zu erreichen. Einige Jahre später gaben Sie, Herr Vau¬ potič und Sie, Herr Kaiin, Ihre geshätzte Schöpfungen dazu, damit die Bedeu¬ tung der Handelsausbildung nicht nur im slowenischen Raum sondern auch außer unseren Grenzen größer und erkennbarer wurde. Den letzten Schliff erschürfen Sie, Herr Subie, mit Ihrem Globus auf dem Dach des vierstöckigen Gebäudes, das wegen der politischen Interessen niedriger sein sollte als ande¬ re Gebäude in der Nähe aber die Inter¬ essen des Schulwesens, der Wirtschaft und des Handels waren damals wichti¬ ger als die Argumente der Politik. Jedesmal, wenn ich in dieses Gebäude komme, sieben Jahre lang schon, denke ich an Schaden, die täglich diesem Kul¬ turdenkmal, das dem Wachstum und wärmer Atmosphäre aller Ausbilden¬ den geweiht wurde, droht. Schade, dass dieses eminente Gebäude, das am 23. März 2004 seinen 70. Geburtstag feiert, stetig verfällt und die Alterszeichen bei jedem Schritt zeigt. Ich fühle mich verantwortlich zu Ih¬ nen, sehr geehrte Herren, zu diesem Kulturdenkmal, in dem ich meine pä¬ dagogischen Ideen verwircklichen kann und zu jungen Generationen, für deren Lernprozeße ich verantwortlich bin. Ich fühle mich verantwortlich zu meinen Kollegen, die in keinen guten Arbe¬ itsbedingungen arbeiten müssen und zu meinen Schülern, die Wärme und Verfall zugleich fühlen. Ich fühle mich verantwortlich zu allen zukünftigen Generationen, die bald sehen werden, wie stiefmütterlich unser Land zur Kulturerbe, zum Schulwesen und über¬ haut zur Kultur ist. Wohin verschwand gefühlte Hochachtung aller Künstler und Stifter dieser Meisterschaft, die Hochachtung, die heutzutage, kurz vor dem Eintritt in den europäischen Raum noch wichtiger sein müßte um nicht verloren zu werden? Es ist kein Trost, dass Sie nicht sehen können, wie Ihre Mühe und Opferbe¬ reitschaft gebrochen wurden, es ist ein Appell für alle, die dessen bewußt sind, die solchen erhaltungswürdigen Schöp¬ fungen zu bewahren und sie den Nach¬ folgern, die ihre Kentnisse gut für sich und ihre Nation gebrauchen können, zu überlassen. Schon F. Miličinski warnte vor Dunkelheit. Jetzt ist die höchste Zeit der Wirklichkeit in Augen zu sehen. Obwohl wir nicht zahlreich sind, sind wir nicht klein. Wir sind groß, schöpfe¬ risch und fähig etwas zu zeigen und anzubieten. Hand in Hand können wir noch mehr erreichen und gerade in die¬ sem wird das Kleine groß und stolz auf seine Geschichte und sein Land. Sehr geehrte Herren, ich bin überzeugt, dass es noch Menschen gibt, die dafür Sorge tragen, die mit uns den richtigen Weg finden werden um Ihnen Ihre Hochachtung zu zeigen. Ihre Meisterschaft, 70 Jahre später, appelliert an die moderne Gesellschaft in Slowenien. Sie soll nicht nachlässig bleiben sondern ihre Kulturerbe höchst schätzen und bewahren. Obwohl das Geschenkte, dem slowenischen Sprichwort nach, minderwertig ist als das, was man allein mit Mühe, Entbehrung und eigener Arbeit verdient, ist jetzt die höchste Zeit, sehr geehrte Herren, Ihre Entbehrung, Ihre Mühe und Ihre Arbeit zu schätzen. Eva Kardelj Cvetko 104 DER ZEST Die ehemalige Staatliche Handelsaka- demie-heüte Ekonomska sola Ljubljana - in der Prešernova 6 feiert in diesem Jahr das siebzigste Jubiläum ihres ununterbrochenen Bestehens. Der Be¬ itrag zeigt ein paar Bruchstücke aus der Geschichte des Gebäudes und des Unterrichts. Der erste Teil bietet einen Überblick über einen fast 20-jährigen Kampfes für die Gründung der Handelsakademie. Erst der Untergang der Donaumonarc¬ hie und die Entstehung vom Königreich SHS haben dazu beigetragen, dass am 4.Dezember 1920 in Ljubljana die erste volständige Handelsmittelschule-Han- delsakademie-eröffnet wurde. Im zweiten Teil verfolgen wir den ste¬ inernen Weg der Bemühungen für den Bau des Gebäudes und die Bauarbeiten. Bis die schule vollendet wurde, musste sie oft anderswo gastieren, am längsten an der Technischen Mittelschule. Man konnte keine staatliche Beihilfe erwar¬ ten, deswegen haben Großhändler, In¬ dustrielle und Banker 1923 einen beson¬ deren Verein gegründet mit dem Ziel, ein neues Gebäude für die Handelsaka¬ demie zu bauen. Für das gesammelte Geld hat man noch in demselben Jahr ein Grunstück auf dem renomierten Platz neben dem Kegierungsgebäude gekauft. Nachdem man schon viel geld gesammelt hatte, begann man Förde- runsmiftel bei dem Staat zu suchen. Der Staat sollte einen Baukredit aufnehmen. Alle Gespäche platzten, so dass am Ende die Stadt Ljubljana den Kredit aufnahm. 1933 wurde mit dem Bau begonnen. Inzwischen kam es zu unerwarteten Zwischenfällen, die Banschaft stoppte sogar den Bau wegen des vermutlich zu hohen Gebäudes, was die Umgebung hätte verschandeln können. Man mus¬ ste einen besonderen Sims über dem Dritten Stockwerk bauen, was das Ge¬ bäude optisch niedriger machte. Im dritten Teil halten wir ein paar In¬ teressantheiten des Unterrichts und Lebens an der Schule in den dreißiger Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts fest. Die Zeit zwischen dem Einzug in das neue Gebäude bis zum 2. Weltkrieg war das goldene Zeitalter der Handelsakade¬ mie. Im Gebäude, das damals eines der modernsten war, begann man mit dem Unterricht am 24.März 1934. Damals war der Direktor Dr. Karol Pirjevec, der die Schule auch nach dem Krieg bis zum Jahr 1951 leitete. Im Jahr 1934/35 gab es 200 Schüler. An der Schule le¬ hrten hochgebildete Professoren (nur Männer), viele unter ihnen auch Verfas¬ ser von Wirtschaftlichen Lehrbüchern. Im ziemlich umfangreichen Stunden¬ plan waren besonders Fachliche föcher wichtig, der ganze Unterricht war prak¬ tisch eingestellt. Die Schule hatte viele Bücher, Lehrmittel und Sammlungen. Unter Schülervereinen war besonders wichtig (eine Art Genossenschaft) Merkur, wo man sparen konnte, billig Schulsachen kaufen konnte und damit ihr Fach üben. Während des 2. Weltkrieges verstumm¬ te die Schulglocke nicht. Trotz vieler Alarmen, gelegentlicher Festnahmen und Unterrichtunterbrechüngen des Unterrichts wirkte die Handelsakade¬ mie bis ans Kriegsende. Anläßlich des Silberjubiläums 1945 verlor sie wegen der veränderten politischen und wirtsc- hatlichen Zuständen ihren Namen, nicht aber ihren Ruf. Sie dient noch bis zum heutigen Tag der Bildung der jungen Menschen und Erwachsenen auf dem Gebiet der Wirtschaft. Ludvik Mihelič L! ч^Ј í¿2 u íl <^J Vïf listi Ij i Nach der Meinung der Schüler und Schülerinnen der Staatlichen Han¬ delsakademie in Ljubljana in der Zeit zwischen dem ersten und dem zweiten Weltkrieg und danach war ihre Schule elitär und anspruchsvoll. Das Interesse für die Schule war groß, weil man einen breiteren Lebenshorizont als am Gym¬ nasium bekommen konnte. Die Schü¬ lerinnen der Handelsakademie lernten rationell zu denken und entwickelten gleichzeitig die Kreativität und hegten persönliche Kultur. Mit ihrer Praxiso¬ rientierung bekamen sie einen guten Ausgangspunkt fürs Leben. Der 2.Weltkrieg brachte mit sich versc¬ hiedene politische Anschaungen. Aber sowohl die Schülerinnen als auch ihre Professoren unterstützten sich. Es ent¬ standen feste Freundschaften, von de¬ nen einige heute noch leben. Der Kleidungsstil und die. Art und Weise des formellen und informellen Zusammenseins war in allen Einzel¬ heiten ein Ausdruck der Gesellchafts und Schulregeln, aber auch der wirtc- haftlichen Verhältnissen. Neben dem Untericht und Fachschulung haben sich die Jugendlichen durchgesetzt auch auf dem Gebiet des Sports. Ihre Resultate zeigen verschiedene Fähigkeiten des Eizelnen. Heute entwickeln die Schülerinnen 4 Jahre lang in dem Arbeitsklima der Schule Fähigkeiten zu einer gu¬ ten Zusammenarbeit und gewinnen humanistisches und ökonomisches Fachwissen. Die Schule übermitellt erzieherische und kulturelle Wer¬ te. Sie gilt als anpruchsvollere, aber gleichzeitig aussichtsvoller, und hat eine bessere Weiterbildung- und Beschä ftigungsperspektive. Obwohl sich die Merkmale verschie¬ dener Epochen unter sich untersche- Põvzetek s prevodi 105 iden, bleibt die Sendung der Schule unverändert: einen jungen Menschen ganzheitlich vorbereiten auf die Hera- uforderungen der Zukunft. Terezija Jurca Caserman ŒBAODES ANLÄSSUCE-a OES 7©-° STEW JUBžLAUMS Das Gebäude der heutigen Ekonomska sola Ljubljana wurde als die ehemalige Handelsakademie und Handelsschule aus zwei getrennten Schulen zusam¬ mengesetzt, als es in den Jahren 1933 und 1934 der bekannte und renomierte Architekt Vladimir Subie aus Ljubljana projektierte. Es ist eine von seinen Arc¬ hitekturspitzenleistungen in Ljubljana, nebst dem Wokenkratzer von Ljubljana, dem damals höchsten Gebäude auf dem Balkan. Der Bau wurde mehrmals unterbroc¬ hen, weil man das Gebäude architekto¬ nisch abändern wollte. Sein Projektant Vladimir Subie ließ das nicht zu und bewahrte so seine ursprüngliche Form und seine schönen Proportionen. Das Gebäude zieren die Portalstatuen des renomierten slowenischen Bildha¬ uers Kaiin, den Flur die Fresken vom Maler Vavpotič. Der Architekt Vladimir Subie war einer der wichtigsten Architekten seiner Zeit und Zeitgenosse und Freund vom Arc¬ hitekten Plečnik und Vurnik. Andrej Stermecki AUF ОШ des 2O.Jahrhunderts von 3 renomierten slowenischen Künstlern mitgestaltet wurde: vom Architekten Vladimir Subie, dem Maler Ivan Vavpotič und dem Bildhauer Boris Kaiin. Dieser hat mit seiner bildhauerischen Verzierung an der Gebäudeaußenseite die Ver¬ wendungszweck des Gebäudes betont. An das Haupt- und Seitenportal stellte er durchdacht eine Kombination von Statuen mit Attributen, die die Weis¬ heit bzw. Wissen darstellen, Merkur als Beschützer des Handels und verschie¬ dener Industrietätigkeiten. Im Innern des Gebäudes fügen sich ein in die Han¬ dels- und Wirtschaftsganzheit die Mä¬ zenenporträts von Vavpotič über dem Treppenhaus und zwei monumentale Fresken im Flur. Die eine stellt die An¬ kunft von Argonauten nach Emona dar und die andere die Gründungssitzung der Handelsakademie. Das Ziel meiner Untersuchung war, den Maler und den Bildhauer und ihre Arbeit an der Schule vorzustellen. Sie stellt sicherlich keinen Wendepunkt und sichtbare Leistung im Werk der erwählten Künstler dar, trägt aber zu einem vollständigeren und ganzheitlic¬ heren Bild bei. Breda Vidmar SOLA LJUBLJANA HEUTE Das Gebäude in der Prešernova 6 ist heute nicht nur ein Haus der Gele¬ hrsamkeit, sondern auch ein Kunst denkmal, das in den dreißiger Jahren Seit dem 9Juli 1998 trägt die Schule den Namen Ekonomska sola Ljubljana. Im Schuljahr 2003/2004 gab es an der Schule 24 Klassen mit 670 Schülern. Man konnte zwischen zwei Program¬ men wählen: Wirtschaftsfachschule und Wirtschaftsgymnasium. Das Pro¬ gramm der Wirtschaftsfachschule be- endnet man mit dem Fachabitur, das Programm Wirtechaftsgymnasium aber mit der Abiturprüfung. An der Schule wirken 9 Fachbereiche mit 46 Lehrern. Seit dem Jahr 1998 ist die Direktorin Frau Eva Kardelj Gvetko, Diplomp¬ sychologin. Die Schülerinnen können zwischen verschidenen Wahlfächern und Exkursionen wählen. Sie können in der Schülergemeinschaft mitwirken. Erna Kozar Kuhar Das weiß ich jetzt, es ist nur Geburt, Leben und Tod, es gibt kein Leben nach dem Leben, es sind nur Menschen, Blumen, Tiere, Dinge. Eva Kardelj Cvetko Sehr geehrte Leser, Die Publikation, die seit Jahren all¬ mählich entstanden ist, will bei der Gelegenheit des 7O.Jubiläums der Wirtschaftsfachschulen im Gebäude, in der Prešernova Straße, erneut an die Wichtigkeit der Kulturerbeerhaltung im slowenischen Raum hinweisen und ein großes Ansehen des Schulwesens, be¬ sonders des Fachschulwesens betonen. Dabei möchte ich den besonderen Wert der positiven Neigung zu dama¬ ligem Schulwesen legen und die große Opferbereitschaft bei der Gründung der Wirtschaftsfachschule hervorheben und gleichzeitig auch auf die Geldsamm¬ lung für dessen Bau nicht vergessen. Nicht zu letzt soll ich an das Außen¬ bemühen der bekannten slowenischen Künstler erinnern, deren Beitrag zu dem Bau ein guter Beweis ist, wie die 106 Handelsausbildung in dieser Zeit gesc¬ hätzt war. Der Globus auf dem Dach des vierstöckigen Gebäudes ist noch ein Zeichen, das den Weg des Handels in die Welt symbolisiert. Dieses Gebäude war damals zwei Stockwerke höher als die heutige Regierungspalast. Zusätz¬ licher Kulturwert wurde durch Plastik von Kaiin und Malereien von Vaupotič erhöht. Die Seele der Schule waren von alters her die Schüler, die sich hier ausge¬ bildet haben. In der Zeit der Reifung haben sie manches Aufregendes erlebt, viele Freundschaften geschlossen, ihre erste Liebe gefunden, Angst und Ärger verspürt und am Ende ihre Ziele erre¬ icht. Und heutzutage ist es ebenso, denn die heimlichen Wände und die einma¬ lige Stirnseite des Gebäudes leben mit Generationen aller Zeiten, die immer wieder mit der Hoffnung eintreten und ihre Spuren hinter sich lassen. Vielen Dank allen für den Bau des Gebäudes und gleichfalls zahlreichen Generationen, die hier ihr Lebenssc^ hicksal gelassen haben, sei es in der Vergangenheit oder in der Zukunft. Wir waren froh, dass es uns erlaubt wurde in Ihr Innerste zu gucken, Ihre Visionen und Gefühle in der halbvergangenen Geschichte aufzuschreiben, meinen be¬ sten Dank auch Hiñen, die dieses Werk mitgeschaffen haben. Und am Ende ein Appell an alle, für die Kultur und Schulwesen Verantwortlichen, die vorbereitet sind zu helfen »den gesunden Geist hinter gesunden Wänden« dieses berühmten Gebäudes zu bewahren und nicht zu vergessen, dass gerade Geschichte unsere beste Lehrerin für die Zukunft ist. Architetto Vladimir Subie, il pittore Ivan Vavpotič, lo scultore Boris Kalin e і membri dell Accademia di commer¬ cio (Trgoyska akademija), inclusi tutti і donatori e tutti quelli che dividete il nostro pensiero, è a Voi che è dedicata questa introduzione. Voi che, tanti de¬ cenni fa, avete dimostrato l importanza dell istruzione e con essa anche del sa¬ pere, delle buone condizioni che fanno da base all insegnamento, come anche all apprendimento delle caratteristiche personali e dei valori importanti per la nazione slovena. In questo modo la nazione slovena potrà, nonostante sia non numerosa, entrare al mercato del negozio. Ma non è tutto, Voi carissimi signori sapevate già che la cultura e l istruzione non possono fare ogniuno la propria strada, ma che al contrario, devono appunto procedere insieme per dimostrare quello che una nazione può e sa fare. Così settantanni fa, invia Bleiweis, oggi chiamata Prešernova, si sono aperte le porte nell attuale Istituto technìco di economia e commercio dì Lubiana (Ekonomska sola Ljubljana). Entrambe le porte, sia quella piu piccola che da sulla via Gregorčičeva, che quella prin¬ cipale attraverso la quale potete entrare da via Prešernova. Così all istruzione era affidato il suo capolavoro, signor architetto, nel modo che possiate con esso operare con tutto il vostro rispet¬ to, affinchè questa aiuti ai giovani a raggiungere la propria professione. Aiuterebbe tra l altro anche і professori, і quali attraverso і successi degli alunni riconosciuti nel mondo come figli delle madri e dei padri sloveni, vivrebbero ü proprio successo. Dopo anni passati, Voi signor Vavpotič e Voi signor Kalin, avete aggiunto le proprie creazioni e ancora una volta e stata messa in rilievo l importanza dell istruzione commerciale (economi¬ ca) per diffondere la voce della creatività e qualità della Slovenia e degli sloveni nel mondo. E proprio questo, quello che rappresenta il globo posizionato in cima al palazzo a quattro piani. La sua co¬ struzione, signor Subie, sarebbe dovuta essere a causa degli interessi politici più bassa, ma la polìtica doveva cedere davanti agli argomenti dell importanza dell istruzione, dell economia e del ne¬ gozio. Entrando già settimo anno dall ingresso principale di questo pregiato palazzo, che è anche un monumento culturale, non posso fare a meno di pensare al danno che esso subisce. E pensando che l intento principale era da sempre lo svi¬ luppo e la calda atmosfera, l aiuto alle generazioni e a tutti inclusi nell istruz¬ ione tecnica commerciale. E poprio un Eeccato che un palazzo così eminente, ìsteggiando il suo settantesimo anni¬ versario il 23 marzo del 2004, vada in rovina e mostri ì segni degli anni ad ogni passo. Mi sento coresponsabìle verso Voi, gentili signori, verso il monumento cul¬ turale nel quale posso realizzare le mie idee pedagogiche e prender parte del processo d istruzione e di educazione. Allo stesso tempo mi sento responsa¬ bile verso і miei colleglli, non potendo Í garantirgli le stesse condizioni per il avoro come erano pensate ottant anni fa, verso gli alunni che sentono allo stesso tempo il calore e la vecchiaia del palazzo e verso tutte le future generazi¬ oni che vedranno come possiamo essere indifferenti noi sloveni verso la propria eredità culturale, verso l istruzione e la cultura. Che fine ha fatto il rispetto di Voi che l avete costruito, о dì Voi che avete raccolto і soldi e di Voi che li ave¬ te donati. Voi sì che sapevate il perché. Dov è andata la saggezza adesso che, entrando nell Europa, sarebbe dovuta essere più presente che mai. Π fatto che non vediate come sia abbusa- to il vostro impegno, la vostra capacità e la prontezza a sacrificarvi, non è un consolo. E piuttosto un richiamo a tutti quelli che vi rendete forse conto di come sarà neccesario tenere in vita capolavori del genere e trasmettere la cultura alle nuove generazioni. Affinchè queste possano approfittare delle proprie co- noscienze per sé stesse, per la propria nazione e per il proprio stato. Così disse tanto tempo fa E Milanski Ježek:«Gen- te, accendete le luci.« Π momento sta ormai per scadere. No, non siamo piccoli, no di certo. Sia¬ mo grandi, capaci , creativi, ma siamo in pochi. E siamo sloveni фе abbiamo cosa da mostrare e da dare. E molto che possimo fare, ma non ogniuno per sé, bensì insime. Ed è in questo che conser¬ veremo la nostra grandezza, e solo così si illluminerà la luce di Ježek per і picco¬ li che diventeranno grandi e fien della propria storia e della propria patria. Gentili signori, sono convinta che qui esistono ancora persone che si sentono coinvolte a trovare insieme a noi una soluzione per esprimervi una vera e dovuta riconoscienza. Questo lavoro, in fin dei conti, posto davanti al pubblico sloveno del nuovo mfflenio, richiama l attenzione della società slovena di oggi che non resti indifferente, ma che noti la propria eredità. La si prega in questo modo di non seguire il vecchio detto sloveno die dice: »La cosa donata è meno valutata di quella che e stata gu¬ adagnata con la propria fatica.« Dovreb¬ be al contrario cominciare ad apprezza¬ re і nostri rinunci, il vostro impegno ed il vostro lavoro. TEMPO L Accademia di commercio, oggi L Ist¬ ituto technico commerciale di Lubiana, in via Prešernova 6, festeggia il settan¬ tesimo anno del processo pedagogico senza interruzioni. La prima parte tratta la descrizione delle battaglie dovute alla fondazione dell accademia. Appena la caduta della Monarchia austro - ungarica e la cre¬ azione del nuovo stato, il Regno degli serbi, croati e sloveni, influenzarono sull apertura del primo Istituto technico commerciale, il 4 dicembre del 1920 a Lubiana. Nella seconda parte seguono gli im- Eegni per la costruzione del· palazzo, iccome la scuola non ebbe il proprio tetto, dovette esser ospitata da diverse scuole. Π sopporto economico dalla parte dello stato non si potè aspettare, allora і commercianti più potenti, indu¬ striali e banchieri fondarono nel 1923 una società con l intento di costruire un nuovo edificio per l accademia. I primi soldi raccolti furono investiti lo stesso anno per comprare l edificio di fronte al palazzo di governo. Raccolti і soldi sufricenti cominciarono a cercare l aiuto dallo stato. Questo avrebbe dovuto prendere un prestito di più milioni per і lavori edili. Alla fine però il prestito lo prese il comune di Lubiana. È così la nuova scuola, la progettò l architetto Vladimir Subie. La costruzione ebbe inizio nel 1933 e fu seguita da molti problemi ed addirit¬ tura fermata per un periodo di tempo, perché l edificio sarebbe stato secondo i críteri estetici troppo alto. Perciò do¬ vettero adattarlo aggiungendo dettagli architettonici. La terza parte include alcuni aspetti interessanti della vita della scuola negli anni trenta del ventesimo secolo. Il pe¬ riodo tra il traslocco nella nuova scuola e la guerra fu il periodo dell Accademia di commercio. Quest edificio fu uno tra і più moderni del periodo. Le lezioni co¬ minciarono il 24 marzo del 1934. Il posto del preside fu affidato al dott. Koral Pir- jevec, che ci rimase fino all anno 1951. Nell anno scolastico 1934/1935 seguiro¬ no le lezioni 200 studenti. Gli insegnanti furono uomini saggi e molti tra di loro scrissero і primi libri di economia. Tra le materie più importanti furono propio le materie techniche, le lezioni invece erano organizzate nel modo pratico. La scuola fu ben attrezzata con libri, materiali didattici e collezioni. Tra le organizzazioni degli alunni fu di un importanza particolare un tipo di coo- preazione, chiamata Mercurio, dove gli studenti poterono risparmiare, compra¬ re і libri scolastici e praticate la propria professione. Anche durante la seconda gurra mon¬ diale la scuola continuò con la propria attività, malgrado і frequenti allarmi, arresti e interruzioni delle lezioni di tan¬ to in tanto. Per l anniversario di argento, nell anno 1945 perse il proprio nome a causa delle svolte politiche e economic- he, ma non perse mai la propria reputa¬ zione. Ancora oggi ha la stessa funzione, quella di istruire і giovani ed adulti nel campo delle scienze economiche. Ludvik Mihelič Pi! M VI дал Gli studenti dell Accademia Statale di commercio di Lubiana del periodo tra le due guerre e dopo, considerarono la loro scuola come esigente e d elite. L interesse per l iscrizione fu grande, siccome fu l unica a dare una conos- cienza più ampia oltre al ginnasio. Gli alunni della scuola appresero il modo come pensare razionalmente e allo stes¬ so tempo ebbero modo di sviluppare le propria creatività e di creare la propria cultura personale. Fu proprio la compo¬ nente pratica che gli diede un punto di partenza per la vita futura. La seconda guerra mondiale portò diverse convinzioni politiche. Ma no¬ nostante ciò, tutti presenti nella scuola, inclusi і professori, furono da sostegno l uno per l altro. In questo modo si creavano amicizie che vivono ancora oggigiorno. Lo stille di abbigliamento e і modi della socializzazione formale e imformale degli studenti, furono in tutti і periodi un rispecchio delle regole, sia sociali che quelle scolastiche e naturalmente anche delle condizioni economiche. I giovani ebbero la possibilità di dimo¬ strarsi dopo le lezioni sopratutto sul piano creativo e anche quello sportivo. I risultati ci mostrano diverse capacità dalle quali erano dotati. Oggigiorno gli alunni lavorano in un atmosfera libera sviluppando la possibilità di cooperazione tra loro e apprendono conoscienze techniche che riguardano il piano economico, come quelle comuni. Inoltre interiorizzano anche valori educativi e culturali. La scuola è considerata impegnativa ed esigente, ma allo stesso tempo offre più possibilità per lo studio. Anche se le caratteristiche dei singoli periodi non coincidono, il compito della scuola resta invariato: preparare і giova¬ ni nel modo più complesso per le sfide del futuro. Terezija Jurca Caserman R SL S SVILU OELL 8ІЇТОЗТЕ8 L edificio dell attuale Istituto technico di economia e commercio fu, come Acca¬ demia di commercio, composto da due scuole separate proggettate tra gli armi 1933 e 1934 dal noto architetto di Lubi¬ ana, Vladimir Subie. È una delle costru¬ zioni principali a Lubiana, dal punto di vista di architettura, accanto al noto grattacielo di Lubiana. Questo fu allora il più grande edificio nei Balcani. Durante la costruzione ci furono più ristagni a causa del suo aspetto arc¬ hitettonico. Ma l architetto Subie si ribbellò, conservando in questo modo le proporzionalità e la forma principale. Il palazzo è arrchito dalle statue portali fatte dallo scultore sloveno Kalin, e da¬ gli affreschi posizionati nell aula d ingr- Povzetek s prevodi 109 esso e dipinti dal pittore accademico Vavpotič. Vladimir Subie, architetto della scuola, contemporaneo ed amico di Piernik, fu uno tra і più imprtanti in quel periodo. Andrej Stermecki E II palazzo che si trova in via Prešernova, non è solo una casa del sapere, ma anc¬ he monumento artistico che fu costruito negli armi 30 del ventesimo seçcolo da tre artisti famosi: l architetto Subie, il pittore Vavpotič e lo scultore Kalin. Quest ultimo ha sottolineato l intento del palazzo con le statue portali sulla sua anteriorità. Accanto alla porta prin¬ cipale e quella secondaria, mise una combinazione di statue molto studiata. Le statue rappresentano la sappienza, il Mercurio, invece, è considerato il pro¬ tettore del negozio e di diverse attività industriali. All interno dell edificio si includono nel complesso economico e commerciale anche gli autoritratti dei mecenati di Vavpotič, posizionati sopra le scale, e due affreschi monumentali all ingresso. Uno rappresnta l arrivo degli Argonauti nell Émona e l altro la seduta della fondazione dell Accadem¬ ia di commercio. La meta delle mie ricerche era presen¬ tare ü pittore, lo scultore ed і loro lavori per quanto riguardino la nostra scuola. Questi lavori non presentano una svolta о risultati patibolari nel senso artistico degli autori sopra nominati, ma nono¬ stante ciò attribuiscono alla loro imma¬ gine più integrata. Breda Vidmar reparti visitati da 670 alunni e alunne. Nella scuola si svolgono due program¬ mi: quello technico ed anche il program¬ ma del ginnasio technico commerciale. Il primo si conclude con il diploma di maturità technica ed il secondo con il diploma di maturità. I professori forma¬ no nove cattedre che comprendono 46 insegnanti. Dal 1998 la direttrice è Eva Kardelj Cvetko, laureata in psicologia. Gli alunni possono scegliere tra le varie possibilità di corsi, escursioni ed altre attività dopo le lezioni. Ema Kozar Kuhar E Dal nove giugno del 1998 la scuola porta il nome Istituto technico di economia e commercio di Lubiana. Nell anno scola¬ stico 2003/2004 la scuola opera con 24 Perché adesso so: c è solo la nascita, la vita e la morte. La vita dopo la vite non esiste. Siamo solo uomini, ci sono le piante, gli animali e le cose. Tutto passa. Perché adesso so: sarà eterna la memoria e tutto quello che è tuo in me e vivra con me, con і miei figli e і loro figli: io, tu e il tuo lavoro. Eva Kardelj Cvetko Gentilissimi lettori! Davanti a voi c è il lavoro che nelle no¬ stre menti si formava da molto tempo e vuole, in quest occasione del settantesi¬ mo anniversario dell Istituto tecnico di economia e commercio, situato in via Prešernova 6, ricordare all importanza della manutenzione dei monumenti culturali nello spazio sloveno e cosi ri¬ dare il rispetto all istruzione pubblica, soprattutto quella tecnica. Voglio sottolineare il modo, in cui vide¬ ro allora il processo pedagogico, il sac¬ rificio voluto a fondare e a raccogliere і fondi e l impegno particolare dei rico¬ nosciuti artisti che aiutarono a costruire la scuola. Questo mostra la riputazione che, settant anni fa, ebbe l istruzione commerciale e come fu apprezzata e chiaramente progettata la strada del ne- fozio nel mondo. Questo è simbolizzato allo globo in cima al palazzo a quattro piani, il quale nel momento ebbe addi¬ rittura due piani in più del palazzo di banato, oggi il palazzo del governo. Un nuovo valore gli fu affidato più tardi con le statue di Kalin ed і dipinti di Vavpotič. Settanta generazioni di alunni anima¬ rono la scuola seguendo le lezioni ed allo stesso tempo maturando in essa. Qui raggiunsero le proprie mete ed ebbero luogo і momenti più frenetici del loro sviluppo, proprio per і corridoi segreti della scuola, per gli angoli delle classi. Così sfiorirono і primi amori, і sentimenti della rabbia e della paura, dell allgria e del dispiacere. Ed è ancora così. Le mura meravigliose e la facciata unica vivono insieme con le generazioni passate, presenti e future che entrano con la speranza, lasciando ogniuna per sé le proprie impronte. Grazie a tutti ι costruzione del ^ ci lasciaste un pezzo della vostra storia. Grazie a noi che lo stiamo ancora facen¬ do e a voi che lo farete. In tako so se pred sedemdesetimi leti na tedanji Bleiweisovi, sedanji Prešer- novi cesti, prvič odprla vrata v sedanjo Ekonomskp solo Ljubljana, tako Usta, skozi katera lahko vstopate z Gregorči- čeve ulice, manjša, in tista, skozi katera 95 vstopate s Prešernove ceste. In šolstvu je bila zaupana izjemna mojstrovina Vas, gospod arhitekt, da bi z njo ravnali spoštljivo, da bi v njej pomagalo mlado- stnikom, da dosežejo svojo poklicno željo in učiteljem, da doživljajo uspehe preko svojih dijakov, ki so uspešni v svetovnem prostoru in prepoznavni kot sinovi slovenskih mater in očetov. Leta kasneje, ste jim, gospod Vavpotič in Vi, gospod Kalin, dodali svoje stvarit- ve in še enkrat poudarili pomen trgov- skega (ekonomskega) šolanja za širitev glasu о poslovnosti, ustvarjalnosti in kakovosti Slovenije in Slovencev v svet, kar predstavlja globus čisto na vrhu ští- rinadstropne stavbe, Vaše delo, gospod Šubic, ki bi morala biti zaradi političnih interesov nižja, a politika je tedaj morala kloniti pred argumenti o pomembnostjo šolstva, gospodarstva, trgovine. Ko že sedmo leto vstopam skozi srednji vhod te spoštljive stavbe, kulturnega spomenika, nič kolikokrat pomislim, kakšen greh se dela na tej stavbi, ki je bila namenjena rasti in toplemu vzdušju ter pomoči posameznikom in generaci- jam, ki se šolajo v ekonomskih usmerit- vah. Kakšna škoda je, da tako eminent¬ na stavba, ki 24. marca 2004 praznuje svoj sedemdeseü rojstni dan, propada in kaže svojo starost na vsakem koraku. Čutim se soodgovorno. Do Vas, spošto¬ vani gospodje, do kulturnega spomeni¬ ka, v katerem smem uresničevati svoje pedagoške ideje in sodelovati v učno vzgojnem procesu generaci) mladih, do. kolegov, ki jim ne zagotavljam pogojev za delo, kakor ste si jih zamislili pred osemdesetimi leti, do dijakov, ki čutijo toplino stavbe in njeno dotrajanost obe- nem in do vseh bodočih rodov, ki bodo spoznávali, kako mačehovski znamo biti Slovenci do svoje kulturne dediš- čine, do šolstva, do kulture. Kam je šio spoštovanje, ki ste ga občutili Vi, ki ste ustvarjali ali Vi, ki ste zbirali denar in Vi, ki ste ga darovali, ker ste vedeli, za- kaj. Kam je šio vedenje, ki bi moralo biti danes, ко vstopamo v evropski prostor, še mnogo bolj prisotno, da se v njem ne borno izgubili. To, da ne vidite, kako je zlorabljen Vaš trud, Vaša sposobnost in požrtvoval- nost, ni nobena tolažba. Je le klic vsem tištim, ki morda vendarle vedo, da bo potrebno ohranjati takšne mojstrovine in kulturo prenašati na bodoče rodove, da bodo zmogli in znali izkoristiti svoje znanje na pravi način, zase in za svoj narod in svojo državo. »Ljudje, prižgite luč« je že davno pozival R Milčinski Ježek. In trenutek se izteka. Napočil je skrajni čas. Kajti nismo majhni, nikakor. Smo veliki, sposobni, ustvarjalni, a maloštevilni. In smo Slovenci, ki imamo kaj pokazati in dati. In, ki lahko ustvarimo še veliko, le ne vsak zase, ampak skupaj. In prav v tem borno ohranili svojo veličino in zasvětila bo Ježkova luč za vse »tiste male«, ki bodo postali veliki in ponosni na svojo zgodovino, na svoj rod in svojo domovino. Spoštovani gospodje, prepričana sem, da so v našem prostoru še ljudje, ki jim ni vseeno in bodo z nami našli pot, da Vam skupaj izrazimo resnično (in dolžno) spoštovanje. Ne nazadnje tuđi to delo, ki je danes pred slovensko jav- nostjo novega tisočletja, sedemdeset let kasneje, kliče sodobno slovensko druž¬ bo, da ne ostane brezbrižna, da opazi svojo dediščino in se ne ravna po starem slovenském reku, daje podarjeno vedno manjvredno od tistega, kar si zaslúžil z lastnim delom, odrekanjem in trudom, pac pa začne ceniti Vaše odrekanje, Vaš trud in Vaše delo. Eva Kardelj Cvetko LJUBLJANU VARCALO CASA Nekdanja Državna trgòvska akademija - danes ekonomska sola - v Ljubljani na Prešernovi 6 praznuje letos 70 let neprekinjenega pouka. Příspěvek osvet- Ijuje nekaj drobcev iz zgodovine stavbe in pouka v njej. Prvi del prináša oris skoraj 20-letnega boja za ustanovitev trgovske akademije. Šele sesutje avstro-ogrske monarhije in nastanek nove države Kraljevine SHS je pripomoglo, da je biła 4, decembra 1920 v Ljubljani odprta prva popolná trgov- ska srednja sola - trgòvska akademija. V drugem delu smo sledili trnovi poti prizadevanj za izgradnjo lastne stavbe in spremljali samo gradnjo. Ker sola ni imela lastne strehe, je morala gostovati drugod, najdlje na srednji tehnični soli. Ker denarne pomočí države ni bilo pri- čakovati, so vplivni veletrgovci, indu¬ strialei in bančmki ustanovili leta 1923 posebno društvo s ciljem zgraditi novo stavbo za trgovsko akademijo. Za prvi zbrani denar so še isto leto kupili stav- bišče na uglednem mestu poleg vládne palače. Ko so zbrali že precej dénárja, so pričeli iskati pomoč pri državi. Ta naj bi najela posebno večmilijonsko gradbeno posojilo. Vsi pogovori so se žal izjalo- vffi, tako da je na koncu najela poso¬ jilo mestna občina Ljubljana. Nacrte za novo solo je izdelal priznaní arhitekt Vladimir Šubic. Z gradnjo so pričeli leta 1933. Vmes seje nepričakovano zapletlo, saj je sosednja banska uprava gradnjo začasno celo ustavila zaradi domnevno previsoke stavbe, kar bi kazilo okolico. Potrebno je bilo izdelati poseben venec nad tretjim nadstropjem, ki optično znižuje stavbo. V tretjem delu smo ujeli nekaj zanimi- vosti pouka in življenja v soli sredi 30. let 20. stoletja. Čas od vselitve v novo stavbo pa do vojne je bil zlato obdo- bje trgovske akademije. V stavbi, ki je bila tedaj ena najsodobnejših v dravski banovini, je pouk stekel 24. marca 1934. Tedaj je bil ravnatelj dr. Karol Pirjevec, ki je vodil šolo še po drugi vojni do leta 1951. Leta 1934/35 je šolo obiskovalo 200 dijakov. Poučevali so široko razgledani profesorji (samo moški), mnogi med nji- mi so bili pisci prvih ekonomskih učbe- nikov. V dokaj obsežnem predmetniku so bili pomembni zlasti strokovni pred¬ meti, ves pouk pa je bü naravnan zelo praktično. Šola je büa dobro opremljena s knjigami, učili in zbirkami. Med dija- škimi društvi je bila posebej pomembna nekakšna zadruga - Merkur, kjer so lahko varčevali, kupovali poceni šolske potrebščine in se praktično urili v svoji stroki. Tuđi med drugo svetovno vojno šol- skí zvonec ni utihnu. Kljub pogostim alarmom, občasnim aretacijam in pre- kinitvam pouka je trgòvska akademija delovala do konca vojne. Ob srebrnem jubileju leta 1945 pa je zaradi spre- menjenih političnih in gospodarskih razmer izgubila svoje ime, a ne tuđi renoméja, saj (je) še naprej vse do danes služi(la) izobraževanju mladih in odra¬ slih na ekonomskem področju. Ludvik Mihelič ОУАІКД ШЈШ\ шишмж Dijakinje in dijaki Državne trgovske akademije v Ljubljani iz obdobja med prvo in drugo svetovno vojno ter po njej ocenjujejo svojo šolo kot elitno in zahtevno. Zanimanje za šolanje na njej je bilo veliko, saj je le-to dalo širše živ- Ijenjsko obzorje kot gimnazija. Učenci in učenke trgovske akademije so se naučili racionalnega mišljenja, obenem pa so razvijali tuđi ustvarjalnost in gojili oseb- nostno kulturo. S praktično usmeritvijo so dobili dobro izhodišče za nadaljnje življenje. Druga svetovna vojna je povzročila raz- lična politična prepričanja. Vendar so bili tako dijakinje in dijaki kot njihovi profesorji na človeški ravni drug druge- mu v oporo. Nastala so celo tako trdna prijateljstva, da živijo še dandanes. Šola je v tem času delovala brez prekinitve. Slog oblačenja in načini formalnega in neformalnega druženja dijakinj in dijakov so bili v vseh obdobjih odraz družbenih, posebno šolskih pravil ter ekonomskih razmer. Ob pouku in prak¬ tično strokovnem izobraževanju so se mladi uveljavljali predvsem na kultur- no-ustvarjalnem ter na športnem podro¬ čju. Njihovi dosežki kažejo na različne sposobnosti posameznikov. V današnjem času dijakinje in dijaki sti¬ ri leta v sproščenem delovnem vzdušju sole razvijajo zmožnost medsebojnega sodelovanja ter pridobivajo splošno humanistično in ekonomsko strokovno znanje. Šola jim posreduje tuđi vzgojne in kulturne vrednote. Velja za zahtev- nejšo, a hkrati obetavnejšo glede nada- ljevanja šolanja in zaposlitve. Čeprav se značilnosti posameznih ob- dobij med seboj razlikujejo, pa poslan¬ stvo sole ostają nespremenjeno: pripra¬ viti mlađega človeka čim bolj celostno na izzive příhodnosti. Terezija Jurca Caserman AšlHSTEKTURMS íítÄZVCU ШЖШ&МІШЕ SOLE LJUBLJANA Oi MJEMI ?Θ LEB Zgradba sedanje , Ekonomske sole Ljubljana je bila kot nekdanja Trgòvska akademija in Trgòvska šola sestavljena iz dveh ločenih sol, ko jo je v letih 1933 in 1934 projektiral znaní in priznaní ljubljanski arhitekt Vladimir Subie. Je ena njegovih vrhunskih arhitektonskih stvaritev v Ljubljani, poleg Ljubljanske- Povzeíek s prevodi 97 ga Nebotičnika, ki je bil v tedanjem času najvišja zgradba na Balkanu. Med gradnjo je bilo več zastojev, ker so hoteli stavbo arhitekturno spremeniti, vendar je kot avtoriteta odločno nastopil njen projektant Vladimir Šubic in temu nasprotoval in tako ohranil prvotno ob- liko stavbe in njenih lepih proporcev. Stavba je obogatena tuđi s portalnimi kipi priznanega slovenskega kiparja Kalina in s freskami v vhodní avu, ki jih je poslikal akademski slikar Vavpotič. Arhitekt Vladimir Šubic, projektant stavbe Ekonomske sole Ljubljana je bil eden najpomembnejših arhitektov tedanjega časa in sodobnik in prijatelj arhitekta Plečnika in Vurnika. Andrej Stermecki sežkov v opusih omenjenih avtorjev, a kljub vsemu prispeva к njuni popolnejši in celovitejši podobi. Breda Vidmar Stavba na Prešernovi 6 dandanes ni samo hram učenosti, ampak tuđi umet- nostni spomenik, ki so ga v tridesetih le- tih 20. stoletia sooblikovali trije přiznáni slovenski umetniki: arhitekt Vladimir Šubic, slikar Ivan Vavpotič in kipar Bo¬ ris Kalin. Slednji je s svojim kiparskim okrasom na zunanjščini stavbe poudaril njen namen. Ob glavni in stranski po¬ rtal je postavil premišljeno kombinacijo kipov z atributi, ki predstavljaju Mod¬ rost oz. Znanje, Merkúrja kot zaščitnika trgovine in različne industrijske dejav- nosti. V notranjosti stavbe se v trgov- sko in gospodarsko celoto vključujejo še Vavpotičevi portreti mecénov nad stopniščem in dve monumentalni freski v preddverju, ki predstavljata prihod Argonavtov v Emono ter ustanovitveno sejo Trgovske akademije. Cilj mojega raziskovanja je bil predsta¬ viti slikarja in kiparja ter njuno delo na naši soli, ki prav gotovo ne predstavlja prelomnic in vidnejših umetniških do- Od 9. julija 1998 nosi šola ime Ekonom¬ ska šola Ljubljana. V šolskem letu 2003/ 2004 je na soli 24 oddelkov, ki jih obis- kuje 670 dijakinj in dijakov. Na soli iz- vajamo dva programa: ekonomski teh- nik in ekonomska gimnazija. Program ekonomski tehnik se zaključi s poklicno maturo, program ekonomska gimnazija pa s splošno maturo. Na soli deluje 9 strokovnih aktívov, v katere se združuje 46 učiteljev. Od leta 1998 je ravnatelji¬ ca Eva Kardelj Cvetko, univerzitetna diplomirana psihologinja. Dijakinje in dijaki lahko na soli izbirajo različne iz- birne vsebine in ekskurzije. Pred vami je delo, ki je v naših mislih nastajalo že dolgo časa in želi ob sedem- deseü obletnici delovanja ekonomskih šol v stavbi na Prešernovi б ponovno spomniti na potnembnost ohranjanja kulturnih znamenitosti v slovenském prostoru in vrniti ugled šolstvu, še po- sebej strokovnemu šolstvu. Poudariti želim tuđi takratno gledanje na šolstvo, požrtvovalnost pri ustanav- ljanju in zbiranju denarja ter izjemen strokoven trud priznanih slovenskih umetnikov pri zidavi sole, ki kaže na to, kolikšen ugled je pred sedmimi dese- tletji imelo trgovsko šolstvo in kako ce- njena in jasnovidno zacrtana je bila pot trgovine v svet, kar simbolizira globus na vrhu štirinadstropne stavbe, kije bila tedaj kar dve nadstropji višja od tedanje banske, zdajšnje vládne palače. Še večjo vrednost ji dajejo kasneje dodani Kali¬ novi kipi in Vavpotičeve slikarje. Soli pa je vdihnilo dušo sedemdeset generacij dijakov, ki so se solali in zoreli v njej, dosegali svoje cilje in doživljali burne trenutke razvoja na skrivnostnih poteh po šolskih stopniščih, v skrivnih kotičkih in učilnicah, dijakov, ki so do¬ življali prve ljubezni, čustva strahu in jeze, zadovoljstva in nezadovoljstva. In še danes je tako. Kajti čudoviti zidovi in enkratno pročelje sta zaživela in živita z všemi preteklimi, sedanjimi in bodo- čimi rodovi, ki vstopajo z upanjem in puščajo svoje sledi. Hvala vsem, ki ste poskrbeli, da je stav¬ ba nastala. Hvala vsem, ki ste in še bosi e na poti skoznjo puščali košček svoje zgodovine. Many decades ago you believed and proved how important it is for the small Slovenian nation to get good edu¬ cation and knowledge and how crucial it is to assure good learning conditions and to acquire personal characteristics, values and skills, which would ensure our entering the world trade arena. Mo¬ reover, you were aware that culture and education must not go their separate ways, but should rather walk hand in hand in order to achieve and prove na¬ tion's knowledge and expertise. Thus, 70 years ago, the door on the for¬ mer Bleiweis Street, today's Prešemova Street as well as the smaller one on the Gregorčičeva Street opened for the first time into the present-day Ekonomska sola Ljubljana (hereinafter School of Economics Ljubljana). Your exceptional masterpiece, Mr. architect, was besto¬ wed on education, with the purpose to treat it with respect and to help the yo¬ ung achieve their vocational choice and teachers to find joy in their students' success and in their recognition as the sons of Slovenian mothers and fathers. Mr. Vavpotič, and you, Mr. Kalin, have years later added your creations and thus once again emphasized the importance of commercial (economic) training for the world reputation of entrepreneurship, creativity and quality of Slovenia and its people. This is repre¬ sented with your globe at the top of the four-storey building, Mr. Subie. Though the building should have been lower be¬ cause of political interests, politics then had to yield to the arguments about the importance of education, economy and trade. When entering this prestigious buil¬ ding, a cultural monument, I often think how it is being violated. Its purpose was to encourage growth, warm atmosphe¬ re and help individuals and generations undergo training in economic profiles. It is truly a shame that such a venerable building, which will celebrate its 70th birthday on 23rd March 2004, is deterio¬ rating and showing its old age at every step. I, too, feel responsible. Towards you, dear gentlemen; towards this cultural monument in which I can realize my pedagogical ideas and participate in an educational process of young generati¬ ons; towards my colleagues, to whom I cannot offer such working conditions, as you imagined 80 years ago; towards the students, who feel the warmth of the building, despite its poor condition; and finally towards all the generations to come, who will realize how neglectful Slovenes can be towards their cultural heritage, educational system and cultu¬ re. Where did the respect vanish - the respect felt by those who were creating, those who coUected funds and those who donated them for a good cause? Where did the knowledge disappear - the knowledge which should be even more present today, upon entering Eu¬ rope? It is of poor comfort that you cannot see how your effort, your capability and unselfishness have been misused. This is merely a call to those who might nevertheless know that such masterpie¬ ces and culture must be preserved and passed on to the following generations; and these generations will then be able to use their knowledge - for themselves, for their nation and for their country. "People turn on the light", cried R Milanski Ježek long ago. The time is running out. It is time to act. For we are in no way small. Though few in numbers, we are great, capable and inventive. We are Slovenes and have a lot to offer. And we can offer much more, individually and collectively. This is how our greatness will prevail and Ježek's light will be turned on for all those "little ones", who will grow up and be proud of their history, nation and country. Dear gentlemen, I am truly convinced that there are people among us who do care and will therefore help us find the way to pay sincere (and much earned) respect to you all. After all, this 70-year- old masterpiece which is in front of you, calls upon the modern Slovenian society to stop being indifferent and recognise its true heritage. By starting to appre¬ ciate your forbearance, your effort and your work, the same society may hence disregard the old Slovenian saying that things offered are never as appreciated as those earned by hard work. Eva Kardelj Cvetko 100 THE COURSE OF TME This year the former Trade Academy - present-day School of Economics - in Ljubljana on Prešernova Street 6, cele¬ brates 70 years of continuous classes. This contribution sheds light on some parts of the building's history and clas¬ ses which took place in it. The first part is an account of an almost 20-year fight for the establishment of the Trade Academy. The first complete Trade High School - Trade Academy - was able to open its doors on 4th Decem¬ ber 1920 in Ljubljana, only after the fall of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and with the establishment of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (SHS). In the second part we followed a thorny path of building our school and witnes¬ sed its construction. Because the school did not have its own roof, the classes had to be held elsewhere, mainly in the Secondary Technical School. Since no financial help was to be expected from the state, influential wholesalers, industrials and bankers established a special association in 1923 in order to build the Trade Academy. In the same year, a building site on a prominent lo¬ cation near the Presidential Palace was bought with the first collected money. After a considerable amount of money had been collected, they stared to look for help from the state, which was to raise a multimillion construction loan. Unfortunately, all the talks yielded no result and thus the Municipality Ljub¬ ljana raised the loan instead. The emi¬ nent architect Vladimir Subie designed the new school. The construction works began in 1933, but were unexpectedly interrupted by the neighbouring Ban administration, which thought the building was too high and marred the surroundings. A special construction, which would opti¬ cally lower the building, had to be built above the third floor. In the third part we looked into some of the curiosities of life in the classes and school in the mid 30-ies of the 20th cen¬ tury. The time between moving into a new building and the war is considered as a golden age of the Trade Academy. The building, which was at the time one of the most modern in the Banovina of Drava, witnessed the beginning of classes on 24th March 1934. The then- principal was Dr. Karol Pirjevec, who continued to manage the school also after the WWII, until 1951. In the years 1934/35,200 students were attending the school. Professors (men only) were hig¬ hly educated, many among them were authors of the first economic textbooks. Although technical subjects were most important in a rather extensive syllabus, other classes were also very practically- oriented. The school was well equipped with numerous books, teaching aids and collections. A type of cooperative society, Merkur, was especially impor¬ tant among the students' societies, since students could buy school aids at lower prices and get practical training in their own trade in it. The school bell did not stop ringing during the WWII. Despite numerous alarms, occasional arrests and inter¬ ruptions of classes, the Trade Academy continued to pursue its mission even during the war. At its Silver Jubilee in 1945, the school was forced to change its name because of the different political and economic conditions in the country. The interest for consi¬ dering this school has always been gre¬ at, since the school broadens horizons, perhaps more than a grammar school. Students of the Trade Academy were ta¬ ught to think rationally and to develop their creativity, which enabled them to pursue a sophisticated trend of self-ful¬ filment. Practically-oriented education has given them a good starting point for the future. Despite different political views during WWII, the students and their teachers continued to support each other. Fri¬ endships formed at that time were so firm that they still last today. The school work went on uninterrupted. During all periods, the style of clothing as well as formal and informal associ¬ ating among students reflected social but especially school regulations and economic situation. By attending clas¬ ses and with practical and professional education, the young asserted themsel¬ ves in the culturally-creative field and in the field of sports. Their achievements show diverse capabilities of individu¬ als. Nowadays students, Over their four ye¬ ars of schooling, develop the ability of cooperation in a relaxed working envi¬ ronment and thus gain general humani¬ stic and technical knowledge in the field of economics. The school also provides them with educational and cultural va¬ lues. It is considered as one of the more demanding secondary schools, but at the same time it ensures the continuati¬ on of education and employment. In those years it was constructed .by much renowned Ljubljana's architect Vladimir Subie and known as the Trade Academy and Trade School. The buil¬ ding is one of his greatest architectural achievements in Ljubljana, following the Ljubljana's Nebotičnik (Skyscraper), which was at the time the tallest buil¬ ding in the Balkans. There were many interruptions during construction, since the building was supposed to be changed architecturally. However, its designer Vladimir Subie firmly intervened and thus preserved the original design of the building along with its beautiful proportions. The building is adorned with portal statues by the distinguished Slovenian sculptor Kalin as well as with the fres¬ cos painted by academic painter Vavpo- tič in the school hall. The designer of the School of Economics Ljubljana, architect Vladimir Subie, was one of the leading architects of his time and a contempo¬ rary and a friend of architects Piernik and Vurnik. Andrej Stermecki The building on Prešeren Street 6 is not only the temple of knowledge, but also a cultural monument which was in the 20lh century co-designęd by three acclaimed Slovenians artists: architect Vladimir Subie, painter Ivan Vavpotič and sculptor Boris Kalin. The latter gave the building its purpose by de¬ corating its façade with his sculptures. On either side of the portal he placed a wellthought combination of sculptures with supplemental elements presenting Wisdom or Knowledge, Mercury as a patron of trade and other industrial ac¬ tivities. Inside the building, Vavpotič's portraits of the patrons above the stair¬ case and two monumental frescos, one presenting the arrival of Argonauts to Emona, the other the founders' meeting of the Trade Academy, merge as a trade and economic whole of the building. The aim of my investigation was to present the painter and sculptor along with their works of art in our school. Their art, though not presenting any significant turning point or outstanding artistic achievements in their opuses, still allows a more detailed insight into their work. Breda Vidmar Since 9th June 1998, the school has been called School of Economics Ljubljana. In the school year 2003/2004, there are 24 classes attended by 670 students. Two programs are being carried out in the school: Economic vocational program¬ me and Economic and general grammar school. The first programme ends with vocational matura exams, the latter with matura. Forty-six teachers take part in the school's nine professional working groups. Since 1998, Eva Kardelj Cvetko, with a degree in Psychology, has been the principal of the school. I also wish to emphasize how people at that time perceived education. Their zeal with the founding and collecting funds and also the remarkable professi¬ onal efforts of distinguished Slovenian artists when constructing this school show how recognized commercial edu¬ cation was 70 years ago, as well as how appreciated and clear cut was the path of world trade. This is symbolized by the globe at the top of the four-storey building, which at that time was two storeys higher than the then Ban's, pre¬ sent-day Presidential Palace. The added statues of Kalin and Vavpotič's pain¬ tings give it additional value. The school was brought to life by 70 generations of students, who studied and grew up in it, who achieved their goals and were in the mysterious sta¬ ircases, hidden spots and classrooms faced with turbulent times of growing up, first love, with fear and anger, satis- 102 faction and disappointments. And it has remained so up to the present. For the marvellous walls and the unique façade have their life and live with all the past, present and future generations, who en¬ ter the school with hope and leave their mark in it. Das ist kein Fall dort, wo auf einmal, in der Situation der Gefährdung, auflebender Schutzwert dieser Bände entdeckt wird. An dieser Stelle ist es gerecht, die Geschenke, die mir und meinen Kollegen in unserem Teil Buropas überge¬ ben wurden, zu erwähnen und gleichzeitig den Segen zu erteilen. Sie, Herr Architekt Subie, vertrauten Ihre Schöpfung dem Schulwesen, um mit ihr achtungsvoll umzugehen. Einer¬ seits sollte diese Meisterschaft den Ju¬ gendlichen helfen ihren Berufswunsch zu verwirklichen und anderseits ihren Lehrern gute Ergebnisse durch die Schüler zu erreichen. Einige Jahre später gaben Sie, Herr Vau¬ potič und Sie, Herr Kaiin, Ihre geshätzte Schöpfungen dazu, damit die Bedeu¬ tung der Handelsausbildung nicht nur im slowenischen Raum sondern auch außer unseren Grenzen größer und erkennbarer wurde. Den letzten Schliff erschürfen Sie, Herr Subie, mit Ihrem Globus auf dem Dach des vierstöckigen Gebäudes, das wegen der politischen Interessen niedriger sein sollte als ande¬ re Gebäude in der Nähe aber die Inter¬ essen des Schulwesens, der Wirtschaft und des Handels waren damals wichti¬ ger als die Argumente der Politik. Jedesmal, wenn ich in dieses Gebäude komme, sieben Jahre lang schon, denke ich an Schaden, die täglich diesem Kul¬ turdenkmal, das dem Wachstum und wärmer Atmosphäre aller Ausbilden¬ den geweiht wurde, droht. Schade, dass dieses eminente Gebäude, das am 23. März 2004 seinen 70. Geburtstag feiert, stetig verfällt und die Alterszeichen bei jedem Schritt zeigt. Ich fühle mich verantwortlich zu Ih¬ nen, sehr geehrte Herren, zu diesem Kulturdenkmal, in dem ich meine pä¬ dagogischen Ideen verwircklichen kann und zu jungen Generationen, für deren Lernprozeße ich verantwortlich bin. Ich fühle mich verantwortlich zu meinen Kollegen, die in keinen guten Arbe¬ itsbedingungen arbeiten müssen und zu meinen Schülern, die Wärme und Verfall zugleich fühlen. Ich fühle mich verantwortlich zu allen zukünftigen Generationen, die bald sehen werden, wie stiefmütterlich unser Land zur Kulturerbe, zum Schulwesen und über¬ haut zur Kultur ist. Wohin verschwand gefühlte Hochachtung aller Künstler und Stifter dieser Meisterschaft, die Hochachtung, die heutzutage, kurz vor dem Eintritt in den europäischen Raum noch wichtiger sein müßte um nicht verloren zu werden? Es ist kein Trost, dass Sie nicht sehen können, wie Ihre Mühe und Opferbe¬ reitschaft gebrochen wurden, es ist ein Appell für alle, die dessen bewußt sind, die solchen erhaltungswürdigen Schöp¬ fungen zu bewahren und sie den Nach¬ folgern, die ihre Kentnisse gut für sich und ihre Nation gebrauchen können, zu überlassen. Schon F. Miličinski warnte vor Dunkelheit. Jetzt ist die höchste Zeit der Wirklichkeit in Augen zu sehen. Obwohl wir nicht zahlreich sind, sind wir nicht klein. Wir sind groß, schöpfe¬ risch und fähig etwas zu zeigen und anzubieten. Hand in Hand können wir noch mehr erreichen und gerade in die¬ sem wird das Kleine groß und stolz auf seine Geschichte und sein Land. Sehr geehrte Herren, ich bin überzeugt, dass es noch Menschen gibt, die dafür Sorge tragen, die mit uns den richtigen Weg finden werden um Ihnen Ihre Hochachtung zu zeigen. Ihre Meisterschaft, 70 Jahre später, appelliert an die moderne Gesellschaft in Slowenien. Sie soll nicht nachlässig bleiben sondern ihre Kulturerbe höchst schätzen und bewahren. Eva Kardelj Cvetko 104 DER ZEST Die ehemalige Staatliche Handelsaka- demie-heüte Ekonomska sola Ljubljana - in der Prešernova 6 feiert in diesem Jahr das siebzigste Jubiläum ihres ununterbrochenen Bestehens. Der Be¬ itrag zeigt ein paar Bruchstücke aus der Geschichte des Gebäudes und des Unterrichts. Der erste Teil bietet einen Überblick über einen fast 20-jährigen Kampfes für die Gründung der Handelsakademie. Erst der Untergang der Donaumonarc¬ hie und die Entstehung vom Königreich SHS haben dazu beigetragen, dass am 4.Dezember 1920 in Ljubljana die erste volständige Handelsmittelschule-Han- delsakademie-eröffnet wurde. Im zweiten Teil verfolgen wir den ste¬ inernen Weg der Bemühungen für den Bau des Gebäudes und die Bauarbeiten. Bis die schule vollendet wurde, musste sie oft anderswo gastieren, am längsten an der Technischen Mittelschule. Man konnte keine staatliche Beihilfe erwar¬ ten, deswegen haben Großhändler, In¬ dustrielle und Banker 1923 einen beson¬ deren Verein gegründet mit dem Ziel, ein neues Gebäude für die Handelsaka¬ demie zu bauen. Für das gesammelte Geld hat man noch in demselben Jahr ein Grunstück auf dem renomierten Platz neben dem Kegierungsgebäude gekauft. Nachdem man schon viel geld gesammelt hatte, begann man Förde- runsmiftel bei dem Staat zu suchen. Der Staat sollte einen Baukredit aufnehmen. Alle Gespäche platzten, so dass am Ende die Stadt Ljubljana den Kredit aufnahm. 1933 wurde mit dem Bau begonnen. Inzwischen kam es zu unerwarteten Zwischenfällen, die Banschaft stoppte sogar den Bau wegen des vermutlich zu hohen Gebäudes, was die Umgebung hätte verschandeln können. Man mus¬ ste einen besonderen Sims über dem Dritten Stockwerk bauen, was das Ge¬ bäude optisch niedriger machte. Im dritten Teil halten wir ein paar In¬ teressantheiten des Unterrichts und Lebens an der Schule in den dreißiger Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts fest. Die Zeit zwischen dem Einzug in das neue Gebäude bis zum 2. Weltkrieg war das goldene Zeitalter der Handelsakade¬ mie. Im Gebäude, das damals eines der modernsten war, begann man mit dem Unterricht am 24.März 1934. Damals war der Direktor Dr. Karol Pirjevec, der die Schule auch nach dem Krieg bis zum Jahr 1951 leitete. Im Jahr 1934/35 gab es 200 Schüler. An der Schule le¬ hrten hochgebildete Professoren (nur Männer), viele unter ihnen auch Verfas¬ ser von "Wirtschaftlichen Lehrbüchern. Im ziemlich umfangreichen Stunden¬ plan waren besonders Fachliche föcher wichtig, der ganze Unterricht war prak¬ tisch eingestellt. Die Schule hatte viele Bücher, Lehrmittel und Sammlungen. Unter Schülervereinen war besonders wichtig (eine Art Genossenschaft) Merkur, wo man sparen konnte, billig Schulsachen kaufen konnte und damit ihr Fach üben. Während des 2. Weltkrieges verstumm¬ te die Schulglocke nicht. Trotz vieler Alarmen, gelegentlicher Festnahmen und Unterrichtunterbrechüngen des Unterrichts wirkte die Handelsakade¬ mie bis ans Kriegsende. Anläßlich des Silberjubiläums 1945 verlor sie wegen der veränderten politischen und wirtsc- hatlichen Zuständen ihren Namen, nicht aber ihren Ruf. Sie dient noch bis zum heutigen Tag der Bildung der jungen Menschen und Erwachsenen auf dem Gebiet der Wirtschaft. Ludvik Mihelič L! ч^Ј \í¿2 u íl <^J Vïf" listi Ij \i Nach der Meinung der Schüler und Schülerinnen der Staatlichen Han¬ delsakademie in Ljubljana in der Zeit zwischen dem ersten und dem zweiten Weltkrieg und danach war ihre Schule elitär und anspruchsvoll. Das Interesse für die Schule war groß, weil man einen breiteren Lebenshorizont als am Gym¬ nasium bekommen konnte. Die Schü¬ lerinnen der Handelsakademie lernten rationell zu denken und entwickelten gleichzeitig die Kreativität und hegten persönliche Kultur. Mit ihrer Praxiso¬ rientierung bekamen sie einen guten Ausgangspunkt fürs Leben. Der 2.Weltkrieg brachte mit sich versc¬ hiedene politische Anschaungen. Aber sowohl die Schülerinnen als auch ihre Professoren unterstützten sich. Es ent¬ standen feste Freundschaften, von de¬ nen einige heute noch leben. Der Kleidungsstil und die. Art und Weise des formellen und informellen Zusammenseins war in allen Einzel¬ heiten ein Ausdruck der Gesellchafts und Schulregeln, aber auch der wirtc- haftlichen Verhältnissen. Neben dem Untericht und Fachschulung haben sich die Jugendlichen durchgesetzt auch auf dem Gebiet des Sports. Ihre Resultate zeigen verschiedene Fähigkeiten des Eizelnen. Heute entwickeln die Schülerinnen 4 Jahre lang in dem Arbeitsklima der Schule Fähigkeiten zu einer gu¬ ten Zusammenarbeit und gewinnen humanistisches und ökonomisches Fachwissen. Die Schule übermitellt erzieherische und kulturelle Wer¬ te. Sie gilt als anpruchsvollere, aber gleichzeitig aussichtsvoller, und hat eine bessere Weiterbildung- und Beschä'ftigungsperspektive. Terezija Jurca Caserman ŒBAODES ANLÄSSUCE-a OES 7©-° STEW JUBžLAUMS Das Gebäude der heutigen Ekonomska sola Ljubljana wurde als die ehemalige Handelsakademie und Handelsschule aus zwei getrennten Schulen zusam¬ mengesetzt, als es in den Jahren 1933 und 1934 der bekannte und renomierte Architekt Vladimir Subie aus Ljubljana projektierte. Es ist eine von seinen Arc¬ hitekturspitzenleistungen in Ljubljana, nebst dem Wokenkratzer von Ljubljana, dem damals höchsten Gebäude auf dem Balkan. Der Bau wurde mehrmals unterbroc¬ hen, weil man das Gebäude architekto¬ nisch abändern wollte. Sein Projektant Vladimir Subie ließ das nicht zu und bewahrte so seine ursprüngliche Form und seine schönen Proportionen. Das Gebäude zieren die Portalstatuen des renomierten slowenischen Bildha¬ uers Kaiin, den Flur die Fresken vom Maler Vavpotič. Der Architekt Vladimir Subie war einer der wichtigsten Architekten seiner Zeit und Zeitgenosse und Freund vom Arc¬ hitekten Plečnik und Vurnik. Andrej Stermecki AUF ОШ des 2O.Jahrhunderts von 3 renomierten slowenischen Künstlern mitgestaltet wurde: vom Architekten Vladimir Subie, dem Maler Ivan Vavpotič und dem Bildhauer Boris Kaiin. Dieser hat mit seiner bildhauerischen Verzierung an der Gebäudeaußenseite die Ver¬ wendungszweck des Gebäudes betont. An das Haupt- und Seitenportal stellte er durchdacht eine Kombination von Statuen mit Attributen, die die Weis¬ heit bzw. Wissen darstellen, Merkur als Beschützer des Handels und verschie¬ dener Industrietätigkeiten. Im Innern des Gebäudes fügen sich ein in die Han¬ dels- und Wirtschaftsganzheit die Mä¬ zenenporträts von Vavpotič über dem Treppenhaus und zwei monumentale Fresken im Flur. Die eine stellt die An¬ kunft von Argonauten nach Emona dar und die andere die Gründungssitzung der Handelsakademie. Das Ziel meiner Untersuchung war, den Maler und den Bildhauer und ihre Arbeit an der Schule vorzustellen. Sie stellt sicherlich keinen Wendepunkt und sichtbare Leistung im Werk der erwählten Künstler dar, trägt aber zu einem vollständigeren und ganzheitlic¬ heren Bild bei. Breda Vidmar SOLA LJUBLJANA HEUTE Das Gebäude in der Prešernova 6 ist heute nicht nur ein Haus der Gele¬ hrsamkeit, sondern auch ein Kunst denkmal, das in den dreißiger Jahren Seit dem 9Juli 1998 trägt die Schule den Namen Ekonomska sola Ljubljana. Im Schuljahr 2003/2004 gab es an der Schule 24 Klassen mit 670 Schülern. Man konnte zwischen zwei Program¬ men wählen: Wirtschaftsfachschule und Wirtschaftsgymnasium. Das Pro¬ gramm der Wirtschaftsfachschule be- endnet man mit dem Fachabitur, das Programm Wirtechaftsgymnasium aber mit der Abiturprüfung. An der Schule wirken 9 Fachbereiche mit 46 Lehrern. Seit dem Jahr 1998 ist die Direktorin Frau Eva Kardelj Gvetko, Diplomp¬ sychologin. Die Schülerinnen können zwischen verschidenen Wahlfächern und Exkursionen wählen. Sie können in der Schülergemeinschaft mitwirken. Erna Kozar Kuhar Das weiß ich jetzt, es ist nur Geburt, Leben und Tod, es gibt kein Leben nach dem Leben, es sind nur Menschen, Blumen, Tiere, Dinge. Eva Kardelj Cvetko Sehr geehrte Leser, Die Publikation, die seit Jahren all¬ mählich entstanden ist, will bei der Gelegenheit des 7O.Jubiläums der Wirtschaftsfachschulen im Gebäude, in der Prešernova Straße, erneut an die Wichtigkeit der Kulturerbeerhaltung im slowenischen Raum hinweisen und ein großes Ansehen des Schulwesens, be¬ sonders des Fachschulwesens betonen. Dabei möchte ich den besonderen Wert der positiven Neigung zu dama¬ ligem Schulwesen legen und die große Opferbereitschaft bei der Gründung der Wirtschaftsfachschule hervorheben und gleichzeitig auch auf die Geldsamm¬ lung für dessen Bau nicht vergessen. Nicht zu letzt soll ich an das Außen¬ bemühen der bekannten slowenischen Künstler erinnern, deren Beitrag zu dem Bau ein guter Beweis ist, wie die 106 Handelsausbildung in dieser Zeit gesc¬ hätzt war. Der Globus auf dem Dach des vierstöckigen Gebäudes ist noch ein Zeichen, das den Weg des Handels in die Welt symbolisiert. Dieses Gebäude war damals zwei Stockwerke höher als die heutige Regierungspalast. Zusätz¬ licher Kulturwert wurde durch Plastik von Kaiin und Malereien von Vaupotič erhöht. Die Seele der Schule waren von alters her die Schüler, die sich hier ausge¬ bildet haben. In der Zeit der Reifung haben sie manches Aufregendes erlebt, viele Freundschaften geschlossen, ihre erste Liebe gefunden, Angst und Ärger verspürt und am Ende ihre Ziele erre¬ icht. Und heutzutage ist es ebenso, denn die heimlichen Wände und die einma¬ lige Stirnseite des Gebäudes leben mit Generationen aller Zeiten, die immer wieder mit der Hoffnung eintreten und ihre Spuren hinter sich lassen. Vielen Dank allen für den Bau des Gebäudes und gleichfalls zahlreichen Generationen, die hier ihr Lebenssc^ hicksal gelassen haben, sei es in der Vergangenheit oder in der Zukunft. Wir waren froh, dass es uns erlaubt wurde in Ihr Innerste zu gucken, Ihre Visionen und Gefühle in der halbvergangenen Geschichte aufzuschreiben, meinen be¬ sten Dank auch Hiñen, die dieses Werk mitgeschaffen haben. É hello nascere in un paese piccolo, ove la natura è umana ed è fatta secondo la misura dell'uomo, dove per secoli vissero le lingue diverse e le religioni diverse una accanto all'altra. É una benedizione se il destino ti abbia rega¬ lato un posto così, per lo studio e l'istruzi¬ one.« Czehv Miłosz, dalla Vita sulle isole Gentilissimi signori! Architetto Vladimir Subie, il pittore Ivan Vavpotič, lo scultore Boris Kalin e і membri dell'Accademia di commer¬ cio (Trgoyska akademija), inclusi tutti і donatori e tutti quelli che dividete il nostro pensiero, è a Voi che è dedicata questa introduzione. Voi che, tanti de¬ cenni fa, avete dimostrato l'importanza dell'istruzione e con essa anche del sa¬ pere, delle buone condizioni che fanno da base all'insegnamento, come anche all'apprendimento delle caratteristiche personali e dei valori importanti per la nazione slovena. In questo modo la nazione slovena potrà, nonostante sia non numerosa, entrare al mercato del negozio. Ma non è tutto, Voi carissimi signori sapevate già che la cultura e l'istruzione non possono fare ogniuno la propria strada, ma che al contrario, devono appunto procedere insieme per dimostrare quello che una nazione può e sa fare. Così settantanni fa, invia Bleiweis, oggi chiamata Prešernova, si sono aperte le porte nell'attuale Istituto technìco di economia e commercio dì Lubiana (Ekonomska sola Ljubljana). Entrambe le porte, sia quella piu piccola che da sulla via Gregorčičeva, che quella prin¬ cipale attraverso la quale potete entrare da via Prešernova. Così all'istruzione era affidato il suo capolavoro, signor architetto, nel modo che possiate con esso operare con tutto il vostro rispet¬ to, affinchè questa aiuti ai giovani a raggiungere la propria professione. Aiuterebbe tra l'altro anche і professori, і quali attraverso і successi degli alunni riconosciuti nel mondo come figli delle madri e dei padri sloveni, vivrebbero ü proprio successo. Dopo anni passati, Voi signor Vavpotič e Voi signor Kalin, avete aggiunto le proprie creazioni e ancora una volta e stata messa in rilievo l'importanza dell'istruzione commerciale (economi¬ ca) per diffondere la voce della creatività e qualità della Slovenia e degli sloveni nel mondo. E proprio questo, quello che rappresenta il globo posizionato in cima al palazzo a quattro piani. La sua co¬ struzione, signor Subie, sarebbe dovuta essere a causa degli interessi politici più bassa, ma la polìtica doveva cedere davanti agli argomenti dell'importanza dell'istruzione, dell'economia e del ne¬ gozio. Entrando già settimo anno dall'ingresso principale di questo pregiato palazzo, che è anche un monumento culturale, non posso fare a meno di pensare al danno che esso subisce. E pensando che l'intento principale era da sempre lo svi¬ luppo e la calda atmosfera, l'aiuto alle generazioni e a tutti inclusi nell'istruz¬ ione tecnica commerciale. E poprio un Eeccato che un palazzo così eminente, ìsteggiando il suo settantesimo anni¬ versario il 23 marzo del 2004, vada in rovina e mostri ì segni degli anni ad ogni passo. Mi sento coresponsabìle verso Voi, gentili signori, verso il monumento cul¬ turale nel quale posso realizzare le mie idee pedagogiche e prender parte del processo d'istruzione e di educazione. Allo stesso tempo mi sento responsa¬ bile verso і miei colleglli, non potendo Í garantirgli le stesse condizioni per il avoro come erano pensate ottant'anni fa, verso gli alunni che sentono allo stesso tempo il calore e la vecchiaia del palazzo e verso tutte le future generazi¬ oni che vedranno come possiamo essere indifferenti noi sloveni verso la propria eredità culturale, verso l'istruzione e la cultura. Che fine ha fatto il rispetto di Voi che l'avete costruito, о dì Voi che avete raccolto і soldi e di Voi che li ave¬ te donati. Voi sì che sapevate il perché. Dov'è andata la saggezza adesso che, entrando nell'Europa, sarebbe dovuta essere più presente che mai. Π fatto che non vediate come sia abbusa- to il vostro impegno, la vostra capacità e la prontezza a sacrificarvi, non è un consolo. E piuttosto un richiamo a tutti quelli che vi rendete forse conto di come sarà neccesario tenere in vita capolavori del genere e trasmettere la cultura alle nuove generazioni. Affinchè queste possano approfittare delle proprie co- noscienze per sé stesse, per la propria nazione e per il proprio stato. Così disse tanto tempo fa E Milanski Ježek:«Gen- te, accendete le luci.« Π momento sta ormai per scadere. No, non siamo piccoli, no di certo. Sia¬ mo grandi, capaci , creativi, ma siamo in pochi. E siamo sloveni фе abbiamo cosa da mostrare e da dare. E molto che possimo fare, ma non ogniuno per sé, bensì insime. Ed è in questo che conser¬ veremo la nostra grandezza, e solo così si illluminerà la luce di Ježek per і picco¬ li che diventeranno grandi e fien della propria storia e della propria patria. Gentili signori, sono convinta che qui esistono ancora persone che si sentono coinvolte a trovare insieme a noi una soluzione per esprimervi una vera e dovuta riconoscienza. Questo lavoro, in fin dei conti, posto davanti al pubblico sloveno del nuovo mfflenio, richiama l'attenzione della società slovena di oggi che non resti indifferente, ma che noti la propria eredità. La si prega in questo modo di non seguire il vecchio detto sloveno die dice: »La cosa donata è meno valutata di quella che e stata gu¬ adagnata con la propria fatica.« Dovreb¬ be al contrario cominciare ad apprezza¬ re і nostri rinunci, il vostro impegno ed il vostro lavoro. Eva Kardelj Cvetko ios ■. MELLO SPÈCCHIO DEL. TEMPO L'Accademia di commercio, oggi L'Ist¬ ituto technico commerciale di Lubiana, in via Prešernova 6, festeggia il settan¬ tesimo anno del processo pedagogico senza interruzioni. La prima parte tratta la descrizione delle battaglie dovute alla fondazione dell'accademia. Appena la caduta della Monarchia austro - ungarica e la cre¬ azione del nuovo stato, il Regno degli serbi, croati e sloveni, influenzarono sull'apertura del primo Istituto technico commerciale, il 4 dicembre del 1920 a Lubiana. Nella seconda parte seguono gli im- Eegni per la costruzione del· palazzo, iccome la scuola non ebbe il proprio tetto, dovette esser ospitata da diverse scuole. Π sopporto economico dalla parte dello stato non si potè aspettare, allora і commercianti più potenti, indu¬ striali e banchieri fondarono nel 1923 una società con l'intento di costruire un nuovo edificio per l'accademia. I primi soldi raccolti furono investiti lo stesso anno per comprare l'edificio di fronte al palazzo di governo. Raccolti і soldi sufricenti cominciarono a cercare l'aiuto dallo stato. Questo avrebbe dovuto prendere un prestito di più milioni per і lavori edili. Alla fine però il prestito lo prese il comune di Lubiana. È così la nuova scuola, la progettò l'architetto Vladimir Subie. La costruzione ebbe inizio nel 1933 e fu seguita da molti problemi ed addirit¬ tura fermata per un periodo di tempo, perché l'edificio sarebbe stato secondo i críteri estetici troppo alto. Perciò do¬ vettero adattarlo aggiungendo dettagli architettonici. La terza parte include alcuni aspetti interessanti della vita della scuola negli anni trenta del ventesimo secolo. Il pe¬ riodo tra il traslocco nella nuova scuola e la guerra fu il periodo dell'Accademia di commercio. Quest'edificio fu uno tra і più moderni del periodo. Le lezioni co¬ minciarono il 24 marzo del 1934. Il posto del preside fu affidato al dott. Koral Pir- jevec, che ci rimase fino all'anno 1951. Nell'anno scolastico 1934/1935 seguiro¬ no le lezioni 200 studenti. Gli insegnanti furono uomini saggi e molti tra di loro scrissero і primi libri di economia. Tra le materie più importanti furono propio le materie techniche, le lezioni invece erano organizzate nel modo pratico. La scuola fu ben attrezzata con libri, materiali didattici e collezioni. Tra le organizzazioni degli alunni fu di un importanza particolare un tipo di coo- preazione, chiamata Mercurio, dove gli studenti poterono risparmiare, compra¬ re і libri scolastici e praticate la propria professione. Anche durante la seconda gurra mon¬ diale la scuola continuò con la propria attività, malgrado і frequenti allarmi, arresti e interruzioni delle lezioni di tan¬ to in tanto. Per l'anniversario di argento, nell'anno 1945 perse il proprio nome a causa delle svolte politiche e economic- he, ma non perse mai la propria reputa¬ zione. Ancora oggi ha la stessa funzione, quella di istruire і giovani ed adulti nel campo delle scienze economiche. Ludvik Mihelič Pi! M VI дал Gli studenti dell'Accademia Statale di commercio di Lubiana del periodo tra le due guerre e dopo, considerarono la loro scuola come esigente e d'elite. L'interesse per l'iscrizione fu grande, siccome fu l'unica a dare una conos- cienza più ampia oltre al ginnasio. Gli alunni della scuola appresero il modo come pensare razionalmente e allo stes¬ so tempo ebbero modo di sviluppare le propria creatività e di creare la propria cultura personale. Fu proprio la compo¬ nente pratica che gli diede un punto di partenza per la vita futura. La seconda guerra mondiale portò diverse convinzioni politiche. Ma no¬ nostante ciò, tutti presenti nella scuola, inclusi і professori, furono da sostegno l'uno per l'altro. In questo modo si creavano amicizie che vivono ancora oggigiorno. Lo stille di abbigliamento e і modi della socializzazione formale e imformale degli studenti, furono in tutti і periodi un rispecchio delle regole, sia sociali che quelle scolastiche e naturalmente anche delle condizioni economiche. I giovani ebbero la possibilità di dimo¬ strarsi dopo le lezioni sopratutto sul piano creativo e anche quello sportivo. I risultati ci mostrano diverse capacità dalle quali erano dotati. Oggigiorno gli alunni lavorano in un'atmosfera libera sviluppando la possibilità di cooperazione tra loro e apprendono conoscienze techniche che riguardano il piano economico, come quelle comuni. Inoltre interiorizzano anche valori educativi e culturali. La scuola è considerata impegnativa ed esigente, ma allo stesso tempo offre più possibilità per lo studio. Anche se le caratteristiche dei singoli periodi non coincidono, il compito della scuola resta invariato: preparare і giova¬ ni nel modo più complesso per le sfide del futuro. Terezija Jurca Caserman R SL S SVILU OELL 8ІЇТОЗТЕ8 L'edificio dell'attuale Istituto technico di economia e commercio fu, come Acca¬ demia di commercio, composto da due scuole separate proggettate tra gli armi 1933 e 1934 dal noto architetto di Lubi¬ ana, Vladimir Subie. È una delle costru¬ zioni principali a Lubiana, dal punto di vista di architettura, accanto al noto grattacielo di Lubiana. Questo fu allora il più grande edificio nei Balcani. Durante la costruzione ci furono più ristagni a causa del suo aspetto arc¬ hitettonico. Ma l'architetto Subie si ribbellò, conservando in questo modo le proporzionalità e la forma principale. Il palazzo è arrchito dalle statue portali fatte dallo scultore sloveno Kalin, e da¬ gli affreschi posizionati nell'aula d'ingr- Povzetek s prevodi 109 esso e dipinti dal pittore accademico Vavpotič. Vladimir Subie, architetto della scuola, contemporaneo ed amico di Piernik, fu uno tra і più imprtanti in quel periodo. Andrej Stermecki E II palazzo che si trova in via Prešernova, non è solo una casa del sapere, ma anc¬ he monumento artistico che fu costruito negli armi 30 del ventesimo seçcolo da tre artisti famosi: l'architetto Subie, il pittore Vavpotič e lo scultore Kalin. Quest'ultimo ha sottolineato l'intento del palazzo con le statue portali sulla sua anteriorità. Accanto alla porta prin¬ cipale e quella secondaria, mise una combinazione di statue molto studiata. Le statue rappresentano la sappienza, il Mercurio, invece, è considerato il pro¬ tettore del negozio e di diverse attività industriali. All'interno dell'edificio si includono nel complesso economico e commerciale anche gli autoritratti dei mecenati di Vavpotič, posizionati sopra le scale, e due affreschi monumentali all'ingresso. Uno rappresnta l'arrivo degli Argonauti nell'Émona e l'altro la seduta della fondazione dell'Accadem¬ ia di commercio. La meta delle mie ricerche era presen¬ tare ü pittore, lo scultore ed і loro lavori per quanto riguardino la nostra scuola. Questi lavori non presentano una svolta о risultati patibolari nel senso artistico degli autori sopra nominati, ma nono¬ stante ciò attribuiscono alla loro imma¬ gine più integrata. Breda Vidmar reparti visitati da 670 alunni e alunne. Nella scuola si svolgono due program¬ mi: quello technico ed anche il program¬ ma del ginnasio technico commerciale. Il primo si conclude con il diploma di maturità technica ed il secondo con il diploma di maturità. I professori forma¬ no nove cattedre che comprendono 46 insegnanti. Dal 1998 la direttrice è Eva Kardelj Cvetko, laureata in psicologia. Gli alunni possono scegliere tra le varie possibilità di corsi, escursioni ed altre attività dopo le lezioni. Ema Kozar Kuhar E Dal nove giugno del 1998 la scuola porta il nome Istituto technico di economia e commercio di Lubiana. Nell'anno scola¬ stico 2003/2004 la scuola opera con 24 Perché adesso so: c'è solo la nascita, la vita e la morte. La vita dopo la vite non esiste. Siamo solo uomini, ci sono le piante, gli animali e le cose. Tutto passa. Perché adesso so: sarà eterna la memoria e tutto quello che è tuo in me e vivra con me, con і miei figli e і loro figli: io, tu e il tuo lavoro. Eva Kardelj Cvetko Gentilissimi lettori! Davanti a voi c'è il lavoro che nelle no¬ stre menti si formava da molto tempo e vuole, in quest'occasione del settantesi¬ mo anniversario dell'Istituto tecnico di economia e commercio, situato in via Prešernova 6, ricordare all'importanza della manutenzione dei monumenti culturali nello spazio sloveno e cosi ri¬ dare il rispetto all'istruzione pubblica, soprattutto quella tecnica. Voglio sottolineare il modo, in cui vide¬ ro allora il processo pedagogico, il sac¬ rificio voluto a fondare e a raccogliere і fondi e l'impegno particolare dei rico¬ nosciuti artisti che aiutarono a costruire la scuola. Questo mostra la riputazione che, settant'anni fa, ebbe l'istruzione commerciale e come fu apprezzata e chiaramente progettata la strada del ne- fozio nel mondo. Questo è simbolizzato allo globo in cima al palazzo a quattro piani, il quale nel momento ebbe addi¬ rittura due piani in più del palazzo di banato, oggi il palazzo del governo. Un nuovo valore gli fu affidato più tardi con le statue di Kalin ed і dipinti di Vavpotič. Settanta generazioni di alunni anima¬ rono la scuola seguendo le lezioni ed allo stesso tempo maturando in essa. Qui raggiunsero le proprie mete ed ebbero luogo і momenti più frenetici del loro sviluppo, proprio per і corridoi segreti della scuola, per gli angoli delle classi. Così sfiorirono і primi amori, і sentimenti della rabbia e della paura, dell'allgria e del dispiacere. Ed è ancora così. Le mura meravigliose e la facciata unica vivono insieme con le generazioni passate, presenti e future che entrano con la speranza, lasciando ogniuna per sé le proprie impronte. Grazie a tutti ι costruzione del ^ ci lasciaste un pezzo della vostra storia. Grazie a noi che lo stiamo ancora facen¬ do e a voi che lo farete. Grazie anche a quelli, che ci avete lasciato entrare nella vostra intimita giovanile, nel modo di farci segnare le vostre impressioni e sentimenti che provaste nel passato re¬ cente.
