SUMMARY
A regular (ninth) volume in the series Ethnographical Archeological Complexes: Problems
of Culture and Socium has been processed by a research group of Omsk scholars. It is devoted to
the problems of ethno-archeological research, the study of archeological complexes of late Middle
Ages and the New Age, and it also contains some data on scientific events concerning the above-
mentioned problems and reviews of printed matter which raises similar problems
As usually, in Section I works on methodological, theoretical, historiographical and
methodical problems of archeological ethnographical integration have been placed.
The section opens with the article by O.V. Kousnetsov (Chita) Ethnoarcheology and
settlement archeology of Paleolithic hunters and gatherers . It deals with theoretical aspects
of ethno-archeological research and also the settlement archeology of traditional communities
and the questions of their life support. The author compares materials and developments of
foreign scholars with the data of Zabaikaliye regional archeology.
N.N. Kradin (Vladivostok) in his article Archeological ethnographical complexes of
Aginsk steppe: bringing up the problem considers the economy and demography of the Aginsk
Buryat people. He applies some innovative research methods to define their economic potential,
ways of household running and population.
L.V. Tataurova and M.N. Tikkomirova (Omsk) consider the problems of the study of
archeology and ethnography of the Russian Sibiriaks. In their article Ethnographical
archeological complex The Russians : preliminary results of the research the authors analyze
the technology of ethno-archeological study of the Russians, consider the current terminology,
summarize the results of their long- term research in the middle Irtysh region.
The work on N.A. Tomilov (Omsk) Dwellings of Barabinsk Tatars in the works of
Russian scientists and travelers of XVI-XIX centuries is devoted to the analysis of written
sources. Having considered these sources the author comes to a conclusion that Barabinsk
Tatars used to have several types of dwellings and he further describes them.
S.F. Tataurov and M.Y Zdor (Omsk) cite the results of applying new information
technologies to the analysis of modern surface of archeological objects under study. In the
article Geographic information technologies in archeological research they consider the
experience of applying this technology and its advantages and disadvantages, illustrating the
conclusions with the materials of their research.

of the latter to the formation of Siberian science and culture.

researchers of antiques aimed at creating Tobolsk province museum and their study of
archeology in the Irtysh and the Ob rivers regions.
Next section contains the results of scholars effort in the study of definite monuments,
objects or phenomena.
V.B. Bogomolov and M.A. Koroussenko in the article Female head

materials and printed matter in the article Russian settlements of
XX centuries , reconstructs the process of settling of the
disappearance of villages, relationships of aborigines and newcomers.

SUMMARY
A regular (ninth) volume in the series "Ethnographical Archeological Complexes: Problems
of Culture and Socium" has been processed by a research group of Omsk scholars. It is devoted to
the problems of ethno-archeological research, the study of archeological complexes of late Middle
Ages and the New Age, and it also contains some data on scientific events concerning the above-
mentioned problems and reviews of printed matter which raises similar problems
As usually, in Section I works on methodological, theoretical, historiographical and
methodical problems of archeological ethnographical integration have been placed.
The section opens with the article by O.V. Kousnetsov (Chita) "Ethnoarcheology and
settlement archeology of Paleolithic hunters and gatherers". It deals with theoretical aspects
of ethno-archeological research and also the settlement archeology of traditional communities
and the questions of their life support. The author compares materials and developments of
foreign scholars with the data of Zabaikaliye regional archeology.
N.N. Kradin (Vladivostok) in his article "Archeological ethnographical complexes of
Aginsk steppe: bringing up the problem" considers the economy and demography of the Aginsk
Buryat people. He applies some innovative research methods to define their economic potential,
ways of household running and population.
L.V. Tataurova and M.N. Tikkomirova (Omsk) consider the problems of the study of
archeology and ethnography of the Russian Sibiriaks. In their article "Ethnographical
archeological complex "The Russians": preliminary results of the research" the authors analyze
the technology of ethno-archeological study of the Russians, consider the current terminology,
summarize the results of their long- term research in the middle Irtysh region.
The work on N.A. Tomilov (Omsk) "Dwellings of Barabinsk Tatars in the works of
Russian scientists and travelers of XVI-XIX centuries" is devoted to the analysis of written
sources. Having considered these sources the author comes to a conclusion that Barabinsk
Tatars used to have several types of dwellings and he further describes them.
S.F. Tataurov and M.Y Zdor (Omsk) cite the results of applying new information
technologies to the analysis of modern surface of archeological objects under study. In the
article "Geographic information technologies in archeological research" they consider the
experience of applying this technology and its advantages and disadvantages, illustrating the
conclusions with the materials of their research.

about a provincial archeologist)" he describes the research, collections and the contribution
of the latter to the formation of Siberian science and culture.
The article of A.V. Zhouk "Arrangement of archeological studies in Tobolsk region

researchers of antiques aimed at creating Tobolsk province museum and their study of
archeology in the Irtysh and the Ob rivers regions.
Next section contains the results of scholars' effort in the study of definite monuments,
objects or phenomena.
V.B. Bogomolov and M.A. Koroussenko in the article "Female head
