phenomenon was becoming more apparent, one
of which is the changing family structures particularly
in highly migratory communities.Jn this book
Pingol explores the
redefinitions of their masculine identities unfolding
in their daily lives which would otherwise be mun¬
dane if not for the reversed rotes.
The author was growing up as a young girl in the

dual roles
apple and sugarcane plantations in Hawaii. She
deals with old problems but this period requires
more
not
programs for families «m distress will find this book
stimulating.
The author is currently involved in project that looks
at the social consequences of mobile communica¬
tions technology for transnational families.
