Welcome to the third edition of this book, fully updated to include all the
changes in C#
libraries. As with the first two editions of this book, no prior experience with C#
is assumed; the book presents structured coverage of all the features that make
C# such a great language.
Developers have much to gain from this new edition, with coverage of
generics, anonymous methods, partial classes, iterators, and nullable types, as
well as additions to the language that haven t received a lot of attention, such as
assembly aliases and property accessibility modifiers.
I was honored to work with Eric Gunnerson, one of the true legends in the
C# field, on this book Eric had an active hand in guiding the material for this
revision and provided some excellent insight into how C# evolved and where it
may be headed in the future. I hope you ll have as much fun reading this book
as I did writing it.
