The decision to prepare a Pollen Atlas as a
companion to the Flora of New Zealand series
was taken in 1975; the work was finished in
1992 and I have to thank all those who have
helped to make it a reality

This book could not have been written

ing maintenance of a well documented pollen
reference collection, preparation of bright field
and scanning electron micrographs, the
preparation of plates and all that goes with
