Zusammenfassung: | The plot revolves around its two female characters. Acuzena is the daughter of a gypsy who, fifteen years before, was burned as a witch for cursing the young son of a nobleman. In revenge, Acuzena abducted the son to throw into the embers of the same fire, but, in her distress, threw in her own son. She has brought up the other child as her own. Leonora (Sutherland) is a lady-in-waiting at court who is loved by two men, the Count di Luna, who is the older son of the nobleman who had Acuzena's mother burned, and Manrico, the troubadour, and leader of the rebel forces engaged in civil war against the count. Tragedy results when the four come together. |
