Zusammenfassung: | "In recent years, the UN Human Rights Council has approved the 'Respect, Protect, and Remedy' Framework and endorsed the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. These developments have been welcomed widely, but do they adequately address the challenges concerning the human rights obligations of business? This volume of essays engages critically with these important developments. The chapters revolve around four key issues: the process and methodology adopted in arriving at these documents; the source and justification of corporate human rights obligations; the nature and extent of such obligations; and the implementation and enforcement thereof. In addition to highlighting several critical deficits in these documents, the contributing authors also outline a vision for the twenty-first century in which companies have obligations to society that go beyond the responsibility to respect human rights."--Publisher description |

In addition to highlighting several critical deficits in these documents, the contributing authors also outline a vision for the twenty-first century in which companies have obligations to society that go beyond the responsibility to respect human rights."--Publisher description</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="588" ind1="0" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Print version record.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="546" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">English.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Social responsibility of business.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh90005735</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Human rights and globalization.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2008002935</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Human rights advocacy.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh94008953</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Entreprises</subfield><subfield code="x">Responsabilité sociale.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Droits de l'homme et mondialisation.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Défense des droits de l'homme.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">POLITICAL SCIENCE</subfield><subfield code="x">Political Freedom & Security</subfield><subfield code="x">Civil Rights.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">POLITICAL SCIENCE</subfield><subfield code="x">Political Freedom & Security</subfield><subfield code="x">Human Rights.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Human rights advocacy</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Human rights and globalization</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Social responsibility of business</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="655" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Fiction.</subfield><subfield code="2">lcgft</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/genreForms/gf2014026339</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="655" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Romans.</subfield><subfield code="2">rvmgf</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Deva, Surya,</subfield><subfield code="e">editor.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n2011059476</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Bilchitz, David,</subfield><subfield code="e">editor.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n2007004124</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="758" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="i">has work:</subfield><subfield code="a">Human rights obligations of business (Text)</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCFMxVttPYQkHc3XxtP7Bmq</subfield><subfield code="4">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/ontology/hasWork</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="t">Human rights obligations of business.</subfield><subfield code="d">Cambridge : Cambridge University Press, 2013</subfield><subfield code="z">9781107036871</subfield><subfield code="w">(OCoLC)859558056</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="l">FWS01</subfield><subfield code="p">ZDB-4-EBU</subfield><subfield code="q">FWS_PDA_EBU</subfield><subfield code="u">https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=656927</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Internet Archive</subfield><subfield code="b">INAR</subfield><subfield code="n">humanrightsoblig0000unse</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Askews and Holts Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">ASKH</subfield><subfield code="n">AH37561988</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Askews and Holts Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">ASKH</subfield><subfield code="n">AH26386037</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBL - "In recent years, the UN Human Rights Council has approved the 'Respect, Protect, and Remedy' Framework and endorsed the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. In addition to highlighting several critical deficits in these documents, the contributing authors also outline a vision for the twenty-first century in which companies have obligations to society that go beyond the responsibility to respect human rights."--Publisher description Print version record.
