Zusammenfassung: | "Most governments and global political organizations have been dominated by male leaders and structures that institutionalize male privilege. As Women and Gender in International History reveals, however, women have participated in and influenced the traditional concerns of international history even as they have expanded those concerns in new directions. Karen Garner provides a timely synthesis of key scholarship and establishes the influential roles that women and gender power relations have wielded in determining the course of international history. From the early-20th century onward, women have participated in state-to-state relations and decisions about when to pursue diplomacy or when to go to war to settle international conflicts. Particular women, as well as masculine and feminine gender role constructs, have also influenced the establishment and evolution of intergovernmental organizations and their political, social and economic policy making regimes and agencies. Additionally, feminists have critiqued male-dominated diplomatic establishment and intergovernmental organizations and have proposed alternative theories and practices. This text integrates women, and gender and feminist analyses, into the study of international history in order to produce a broader understanding of processes of international change during the 20th and 21st centuries."--Bloomsbury Publishing |

governments and global political organizations have been dominated by male leaders and structures that institutionalize male privilege. This text integrates women, and gender and feminist analyses, into the study of international history in order to produce a broader understanding of processes of international change during the 20th and 21st centuries."--Bloomsbury Publishing</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Women</subfield><subfield code="x">Political activity</subfield><subfield code="x">History.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Women</subfield><subfield code="x">History.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85147304</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Sex role</subfield><subfield code="x">History.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Femmes</subfield><subfield code="x">Activité politique</subfield><subfield code="x">Histoire.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Femmes</subfield><subfield code="x">Histoire.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Rôle selon le sexe</subfield><subfield code="x">Histoire.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">History.</subfield><subfield code="2">bicssc</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">General & world history.</subfield><subfield code="2">bicssc</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">International relations.</subfield><subfield code="2">bicssc</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">SOCIAL SCIENCE</subfield><subfield code="x">Discrimination & Race Relations.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">SOCIAL SCIENCE</subfield><subfield code="x">Minority Studies.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Sex role</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Women</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Women</subfield><subfield code="x">Political activity</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="655" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">History</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="758" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="i">has work:</subfield><subfield code="a">Women and gender in international history (Text)</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCFrb9DdwV3fhM466wbbw4q</subfield><subfield code="4">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/ontology/hasWork</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2=" "><subfield code="c">Paperback</subfield><subfield code="z">9781472576118</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="830" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">New approaches to international history.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2015061280</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="l">FWS01</subfield><subfield code="p">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield><subfield code="q">FWS_PDA_EBA</subfield><subfield code="u">https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=1803179</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Askews and Holts Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">ASKH</subfield><subfield code="n">AH34462409</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Askews and Holts Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">ASKH</subfield><subfield code="n">AH34462408</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Bloomsbury Publishing</subfield><subfield code="b">BLOO</subfield><subfield code="n">bpp09261905</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ProQuest Ebook Central</subfield><subfield code="b">EBLB</subfield><subfield code="n">EBL5377552</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBSCOhost</subfield><subfield code="b">EBSC</subfield><subfield code="n">1803179</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">YBP Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">YANK</subfield><subfield code="n">16731451</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="994" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">92</subfield><subfield code="b">GEBAY</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="049" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">DE-863</subfield></datafield></record></collection> |
