Zusammenfassung: | Leandro Tripodi discusses the aging and need for renovation of the 1980 Vienna Sales Convention. Changes in global political circumstances and to the economy of international sales of goods have rendered the 1980 CISG a dated legal instrument. Its recognized flexibility is not sufficient to cope with past and, especially, with future changes brought about by the introduction of new technologies affecting all kinds of goods subject to trade. 0In light of the challenges posed by 21st-century commerce, Tripodi proposes the adoption of a Convention on the International Sale of Goods and Services (CISGS). The idea of a new convention is based on the following facts: 1) goods and services are no longer as distinguishable as they were in 1980; 2) sales of goods and sales (i.e., the provision) of services are not as easy to apportion as the CISG supposes and can hardly continue to be treated separately by the legal sources of international trade. |

The idea of a new convention is based on the following facts: 1) goods and services are no longer as distinguishable as they were in 1980; 2) sales of goods and sales (i.e., the provision) of services are not as easy to apportion as the CISG supposes and can hardly continue to be treated separately by the legal sources of international trade.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="504" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Includes bibliographical references (pages 168-188) and index.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="630" ind1="0" ind2="0"><subfield code="a">United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods</subfield><subfield code="d">(1980 April 11)</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="630" ind1="0" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (1980 April 11)</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="630" ind1="0" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods</subfield><subfield code="f">1980 April 11</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Export sales contracts.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85046505</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Law</subfield><subfield code="x">International unification.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85075134</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Vente internationale.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Droit</subfield><subfield code="x">Unification internationale.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">BUSINESS & ECONOMICS</subfield><subfield code="x">Economics</subfield><subfield code="x">General.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">BUSINESS & ECONOMICS</subfield><subfield code="x">Reference.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Export sales contracts</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Law</subfield><subfield code="x">International unification</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Internationales Kaufrecht</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Sale.</subfield><subfield code="2">pplt</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Unification of law.</subfield><subfield code="2">pplt</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (Vienna, 11 April 1980).</subfield><subfield code="2">pplt</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Commercial obligations.</subfield><subfield code="2">pplt</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">International contracts.</subfield><subfield code="2">pplt</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Private international law.</subfield><subfield code="2">pplt</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="758" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="i">has work:</subfield><subfield code="a">Towards a new CISG (Text)</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCFDHq3m8Hkq36v8RKfJHcq</subfield><subfield code="4">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/ontology/hasWork</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="a">Tripodi, Leandro.</subfield><subfield code="t">Towards a new CISG.</subfield><subfield code="d">Boston : Brill, [2016]</subfield><subfield code="z">9789004305328</subfield><subfield code="z">9004305327</subfield><subfield code="w">(DLC) 2015030455</subfield><subfield code="w">(OCoLC)915775130</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="l">FWS01</subfield><subfield code="p">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield><subfield code="q">FWS_PDA_EBA</subfield><subfield code="u">https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=1940262</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="936" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">BATCHLOAD</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Askews and Holts Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">ASKH</subfield><subfield code="n">AH37543035</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBL - Changes in global political circumstances and to the economy of international sales of goods have rendered the 1980 CISG a dated legal instrument.
