Zusammenfassung: | "Two leading neuroscientists introduce the concepts of "cerebral plasticity" and the "regenerating brain," describing what we know now about the processes through which the brain constantly reconstructs itself and the potential benefits this knowledge could have in addressing concerns for neurological, cognitive, and emotional health. The authors begin with a survey of the fundamental scientific developments that led to our current understanding of the regenerative mind, elucidating the breakthrough neurobiological studies that paved the way for our present understanding of the brain's plasticity and regenerative capabilities. They then discuss the application of these findings to such issues as depression, dyslexia, schizophrenia, and cognitive therapy, incorporating the latest technologies in neuroimaging, optogenetics, and nanotechnology. Their work shows the brain is anything but a static organ, ceasing to grow as human beings become adults. Rather, the brain is dynamic, evolving organically in relation to physical, cultural, historical, and affective stimuli, a plasticity that provides early hope to survivors of trauma and degenerative disorders."--Publisher's description. |

Rather, the brain is dynamic, evolving organically in relation to physical, cultural, historical, and affective stimuli, a plasticity that provides early hope to survivors of trauma and degenerative disorders."--Publisher's description.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Brain</subfield><subfield code="x">Physiology.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Brain stimulation.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85016370</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Neurophysiology.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85091159</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Neuroplasticity.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85091160</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1="1" ind2="2"><subfield code="a">Brain</subfield><subfield code="x">physiology</subfield><subfield code="0">https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D001921Q000502</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1="2" ind2="2"><subfield code="a">Deep Brain Stimulation</subfield><subfield code="0">https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D046690</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1="2" ind2="2"><subfield code="a">Neuronal Plasticity</subfield><subfield code="0">https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D009473</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1="2" ind2="2"><subfield code="a">Neurophysiology</subfield><subfield code="0">https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D009482</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Cerveau</subfield><subfield code="x">Physiologie.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Cerveau</subfield><subfield code="x">Stimulation.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Neurophysiologie.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Plasticité neuronale.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">MEDICAL</subfield><subfield code="x">Physiology.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">SCIENCE</subfield><subfield code="x">Life Sciences</subfield><subfield code="x">Human Anatomy & Physiology.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">SCIENCE</subfield><subfield code="x">Life Sciences</subfield><subfield code="x">Developmental Biology.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Neuroplasticity</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Brain</subfield><subfield code="x">Physiology</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Brain stimulation</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Neurophysiology</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Gehirn</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield code="0">http://d-nb.info/gnd/4019752-9</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Nervensystem</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Neurophysiologie</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield code="0">http://d-nb.info/gnd/4041897-2</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Lledo, Pierre-Marie,</subfield><subfield code="e">author.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/nb2002006347</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Garey, Laurence,</subfield><subfield code="e">translator.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n85073661</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="758" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="i">has work:</subfield><subfield code="a">The custom-made brain (Text)</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCFD9FQMtVhQXCMMCFfYmv3</subfield><subfield code="4">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/ontology/hasWork</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="a">Vincent, Jean-Didier.</subfield><subfield code="s">Cerveau sur mesure. "Originally published as 'Le cerveau sur measure'"--Title page verso. "Two leading neuroscientists introduce the concepts of "cerebral plasticity" and the "regenerating brain," describing what we know now about the processes through which the brain constantly reconstructs itself and the potential benefits this knowledge could have in addressing concerns for neurological, cognitive, and emotional health.
