Zusammenfassung: | Nuclear energy plays a major role in the provision of baseload1 power in countries throughout the world. It provides a clean, safe, economical and reliable source of power that is essential to the development of any economy, and particularly the economies of developing countries that have traditionally relied on whatever sources of power are at their disposal, irrespective of the disadvantages that some of these sources may carry. Whilst the worldwide debate on climate change continues, it is clear that nuclear energy has a distinct advantage due to its lack of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions that are inherent in fossil-fired power plants. |
