Zusammenfassung:The new book in the collection, authored by Fernanda Critelli, focuses on some of the works and ideas of Richard Joseph Neutra (1892-1970), an Austrian architect living in the United States, who left, throughout his professional life, an important legacy that is revealed both by the numerous works built and by his academic contribution. The author focuses in particular on the presence of the architect in Brazil, where he presents himself in the dual role of cultural agent and diplomatic representative, and the importance of interlocution in his later work. The book follows not only the trajectory of the diplomat at the service of the United States in its Brazilian mission (messenger of American "goodwill"), but also of the architect, who establishes fraternal relations with significant figures of the local architectural and cultural milieu, such as Henrique Mindlin, Eduardo Kneese de Mello, Marcello Fragelli, Vilanova Artigas, Gregori Warchavchik, Miguel Forte, Pietro Maria Bardi, Roberto Burle Marx, Lucjan Korngold and Sérgio Bernardes
