Item Description:Although relatively few COVID-19 cases have been detected so far in developing countries (except for China and Iran), the risk of the pandemic spreading is high in such places. This is driven by, among other things, high population density, poverty, poor sanitation and inefficient healthcare. Even if these countries manage to limit the spread of the virus, they will be hit hardest by the economic and social consequences of the crisis. Although the EU and the U.S. are currently busy fighting the virus at home, it is also in their interests to support the least developed countries to avoid another wave of pandemics
