Item Description:The surprising victory in May of the ruling conservative coalition in the Australian parliamentary elections has meant a continuation of the country's foreign policy. Australia aims to deepen its strategic alliance with the U.S., confirmed by Prime Minister Scott Morison's visit to the U.S. in September. At the same time, it will be harder for Australia to maintain a comprehensive partnership with China. Support for the rules-based international order and multilateralism makes Australia an important, like-minded partner for the EU. This partnership will be strengthened by the quick signing of a free trade agreement (FTA). It also offers a good opportunity to deepen Polish-Australian cooperation
