| Zusammenfassung: | Starting from relationships between landscapes, architectures, objects and bodies, but also between images and volumes, marked by the tradition of North American minimal and conceptual art and the Brazilian neoconcrete movement, Luis Felipe Ortega (Mexico City 1966) deals with producing liminal spaces in which the materials and techniques of execution become fundamental: both the scale of the pieces, as well as the material of each of them, carry with them a specific work that allows a peculiar imagination of the time invested in its realization. "And so it shall become rift: Luis Felipe Ortega" forms part of the Temporary Exhibitions Program at the Museum Amparo which invites visitors to observe, discover and enjoy the work of contemporary artists, with the intention of establishing connections and reflecting on their ideas. Luis Felipe Ortega's oeuvre seeks to question the idea of the horizon and of space, as well as our own relationship with them. This exhibition is conceived as a permanent landscape for visitors to interact with the works and spaces, including drawings, videos, photographs, paintings, installations and in situ works created specifically for the Amparo Museum. This publication reveals the research process Luis Felipe Ortega undertakes to explore the concepts of landscape, scale, and environment, their relationship with the body and physical experience, instability and equilibrium, together with the ambiguity of the real and the indeterminate. The edition is a recognition of the work of Luis Felipe Ortega and of curator Daniel Montero, whose joint efforts are reflected both in the exhibition itself and in the activities offered in conjunction with the exhibition. |
