Summary:Hersúa (Jesús Hernández Suárez, Ciudad Obregón Sonora, México, 1940), is one of the Latin American sculptors with worldwide projection given the importance of his work according to the analysis carried out by the art theorist Juna Acha. His work transcends the representativeness of the human figure to an abstract geometry concerned with the relationship of the human being withreal space. Within the collection that triggers his artistic work, the following stand out: He participated -along with other noted artists- in the first stage of the Espacio Escultórico of the Ciudad Universitaria de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), he is the founder of the first experimental group on new visual trends ±Other Art, exhibits as co-author of the first geographic poem in Latin America with the group ±Arte Otro at the E.N.A.P. of the U.N.A.M. He represented Mexico with the work ±Urban Environment at the VI Biennial of Young Artists, Paris, France (1969).
