Summary:In this course we discuss the role of 5G for augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR) and extended reality (XR), its characteristics and how it stands apart. We will examine the use cases driving the need for next-generation networks and the technologies that will make use of those networks. Last, we will glimpse into the future and examine changes already induced by the COVID-19 pandemic. This part of the course will map the basic expectations of future wireless generations beyond 5G and explore possible future improvements of AR and VR.
