Summary:When museum director Carl Jacobsen installed Antonin Mercié’s sculptural group Gloria Victis (Glory to the Vanquished) in Copenhagen’s Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in 1906, he made it the centerpiece of the museum’s Winter Garden.
