Zusammenfassung: | "This book addresses the negotiation of categorizations in colonial societies in Spanish America from a new vantage point: fiscality. In early modern empires (poll) taxes were a significant factor to organize and perpetuate social inequalities. By this, fiscal categorizations had very concrete effects on the daily life of the categorized, on their assets and on their labor force. They intersected with social categorizations such as gender, profession, age and what many authors have termed race or ethnicity, but which are denominated here, more accurately with a term from the sources, calidad. They were imposed by legislation from above and contested via petitions from below, the latter being a type of source scarcely analyzed until now"-- |

They were imposed by legislation from above and contested via petitions from below, the latter being a type of source scarcely analyzed until now"-- Sozialgeschichte 1535-1822 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte 1700-1850 gnd rswk-swf Sozialgeschichte (DE-588)4055772-8 gnd rswk-swf Steuer (DE-588)4057399-0 gnd rswk-swf Soziale Ungleichheit (DE-588)4055736-4 gnd rswk-swf Sozialstatus (DE-588)4077618-9 gnd rswk-swf Neuspanien (DE-588)4041919-8 gnd rswk-swf Vizekönigreich Peru (DE-588)4433423-0 gnd rswk-swf Peru (DE-588)4045312-1 gnd rswk-swf Lateinamerika (DE-588)4074032-8 gnd rswk-swf Taxation / Peru / History Taxation / New Spain / History Social stratification / Peru / History Social stratification / New Spain / History (DE-588)4113937-9 Hochschulschrift gnd-content Peru (DE-588)4045312-1 g Neuspanien (DE-588)4041919-8 g Lateinamerika (DE-588)4074032-8 g Steuer (DE-588)4057399-0 s Sozialgeschichte (DE-588)4055772-8 s Sozialstatus (DE-588)4077618-9 s Geschichte 1700-1850 z DE-604 Vizekönigreich Peru (DE-588)4433423-0 g Soziale Ungleichheit (DE-588)4055736-4 s Sozialgeschichte 1535-1822 z Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe 978-90-04-52164-3 European expansion and indigenous response Volume 40 (DE-604)BV035580608 40 Digitalisierung UB Augsburg - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=033831019&sequence=000001&line_number=0001&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Inhaltsverzeichnis Digitalisierung UB Augsburg - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=033831019&sequence=000003&line_number=0002&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Klappentext |
