| Item Description: | Two dissimilar ideas alternate throughout the piece. The first one with an illusionary atmosphere using spatial notation and controlled improvisation to produce the effects caused by the rotation of the inner glasses of a kaleidoscope. The second idea has a more thematic, contrapuntal and lyric atmosphere, emulating the beautiful result of such colorful optical images inside a this renowned device. Technically, these two ideas share the same nine-tone source. The use of circular permutations, shared vectors, transpositions, intervallic codes and instrumental effects help the piece achieve a more organic and subtle connection between both ideas. |
